ALDS- A's vs Astros
Why couldn't we hit like the Astros? Not having Eloy really screwed our offense.

ALDS- A's vs Astros
The A's staff is clearly not as good as we made them look. But this Astros team has a lot of playoff experience and talent that didn't play well during the regular season.

NL Wildcard Round
Cubs just forgot how to hit. Gotta give the Marlins a ton of credit. They overcame COVID and look like a pretty good up and coming team with their pitching.

NL Wildcard Round
Darvish just ran out of gas. He was hanging sliders to the last 3 batters he faced.

Really fun season
The 3 weeks where we barely lost were the most fun I've had watching baseball since 05 or 06. In such a short season this team really went through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. It was fun regardless though.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
Hope Hicks' results only came out cause it leaked. They were initially trying to keep this on the down low.

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?
I don't really know if Dunning got lit up. He gave up a single on a low fastball to La Stella. He did hang the slider to Canha that got him pulled. But from the pitch charts, that was the only slider he hung. All the other ones were lower in the zone or out of the zone. Either way, Ricky has said the plan was to have Crochet face Olson. So the initial plan was for Dunning to only pitch to 5 hitters.

Sox @ A’s - Wildcard Game 3 - 2:10
lmao I was kind of thinking that too. I don't think I've ever seen a 5:10 start on a week night.

Offseason Targets
We could have had Ozuna on a fair deal this past off-season, but now he's probably gonna command a big contract after the year he just had. But it all depends on how COVID affects the free agent market.

Offseason Targets
I think they were deceiving last year. But his peripherals and hit data were much better this year. His exit velos and hard hit % improved dramatically. He doesn't strike out a bunch of guys, but he does induce weak contact.

Offseason Targets
Garcia will get his option picked up. Maybe you can give Colome a QO, but I think he'll get a big contract from another team given just how good he was this year.

Offseason Targets
Where are you going to play Hernandez? He's almost one of those guys that you sign just so he can't hurt you anymore.

Offseason Targets
We're 100% getting Joc Pederson. He probably won't cost a whole lot either because he had a terrible year.

Sox @ A’s - Wildcard Game 3 - 2:10
I'm hoping for playoff expansion. Not 8 teams, but 6-7 probably means the Sox will be playing in October for many years to come.

Guess the pitcher we add in the offseason
I'd be fine with Quintana, but we need more than just him. Stroman is friends with TA so maybe we can get him. He's not going to be overly expensive, but we'll probably have to give him more money than Keuchel.

Fiers gets to exact revenge. Although with the way he pitched today, the Astros might blast him for 8 runs.

We are mad at the wrong Rick
Cease was a ticking time bomb. Although I didn't think he could start walking MORE people. I just thought he'd stop getting so lucky with balls in play. Dunning just ran out of gas. His stuff is also not good to the point where advanced scouting wouldn't catch up to him.

It sucks that Clevinger and Lamet got hurt for the Padres, but given the shit Preller has pulled off with medicals, it seems like karma.

Sox @ A’s - Wildcard Game 3 - 2:10
Yup that was idiotic. Why waste your best left handed reliever after your 2nd best left handed reliever just got hurt? Just baffling. Also, I'd much rather have your lower end bullpen guys get the earlier innings. If they allow a run or two, you still have time to come back. If you go into the 7th with a lead and have to throw Jace Fry or Dylan Cease, that'd be catastrophic.

Are they trying to say Grandal sucks at calling games? There's no way they were going to let Grandal sit after his first 2 games. Maybe blame RR and Eloy for overestimating where his foot injury was. Because he was clearly not ready to play.

Could be worse...like losing 18 straight playoff games.

Sox @ A’s - Wildcard Game 3 - 2:10
I'm not sure why we didn't shift on him this series. All his hits were right up the middle.

Sox @ A’s - Wildcard Game 3 - 2:10
It's crazy to think the Canha single in the first inning would fuck us.
-
Sox @ A’s - Wildcard Game 3 - 2:10
We had plenty of opportunities this series. We just couldn't come up with the big hit when it really mattered. The fact that we got only 1 run off Fiers probably lost us the game today. Cause he and Petit were the only guys we actually looked good against.

Loss is on everyone on the team today. We beat ourselves.
