  1. Just proves to me you have no grip or concept of real life. Anybody knows that life is always changing and evolving. To think that politics, real life, emotions, etc. don't change and that you cannot change a specific political view, real life scenario, emotion, etc. to better suit a group of people when confronted with certain facts proves, to me at least, that you are a spoiled brat and, more than likely, are waiting for something to be handed to you. I will not expound on this post any further to avoid being labeled a blood-thristy, neanderthal, Hitler by doubleM simply because he has no grasp on real life. I'm out..... Hell no, I don't expect anything to be handed to me... s***, I eat three meals a day and I have a roof over my head... What more do I need? I'm all about hand outs to those who've had the cards stacked against them since Day 1. For 7 or 8 generations too huh? What's wrong with telling "those" to get up off their dead f***ing ass and do something with your life? Break the cycle of "cards"..... so to speak. I'm so sick of hearing groups, particularly minorities, that the middle/upper class have been keeping them down for all this time. Bulls***! For decades the middle/upper class taxpayers have been paying for their food, medical bills, utilities, housing, child care, etc. Not to mention that ALL people in this country (including the immigrants) have an equal opportunity to do what they make of public education. The real crime against minorities has been perpetrated by the liberals..... constantly telling the minorities that, without their vote, they will lose all of the public assistance aid which is given to them so freely. The "cards" dealt to the people who have the "(odds) stacked against them since Day 1" are dealt by the liberals whose ideology you so vigorously embrace. Oh please! Tell me the people going to Morgan Park and the rest of the CPS schools have the same opprotunities as the people who go to Whitney Young or New Trier.
  2. just like miguel olvio uh:bringit Personally, I think the Sox are going to make a huge mistake and rush Olivo before he's ready to catch at the big league level. Catchers, above all else, need to be throughly prepared for the day-in, day-out routines behind the plate (I mean, if you can play the outfield in AAA, you can play the outfield in Chicago), however, the Sox are going to ruin Olivo by forcing him up through the system to fast and throwing him to the lions before he's adequately prepared.
  3. ... but Magglio did win an American League Silver Slugger Award... http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/news/mlb...s_mlb&fext=.jsp

Has anyone else tried that stuff? It's really quite good.

  6. No, they suck. 2-6 now, I believe... Not that I'm paying much attention to them with my sweet sweet Irish rollin' towards a BCS bowl berth.
  7. OK, I'm gonna keep this brief. I will never change. I've been exposed to too much violence, crime, and poverty to ever consider changing now. I've nearly been killed before for what I believe in; I'm not about to start reconsidering now. Actually, everytime someone tries to show me the error of my ways, they just cement them further in. I'm in this fight for life.
  8. Jeez... Generally, that name in italics with that little bar in front of means I'm (stay with me here, people)... "quoting" someone... In that I didn't write it... Do we all still follow here, or should I back up for a second? When you "quote" someone, you write something they either have said or wrote (and here's the kicker.. no daydreaming yet... ) before I "quoted" it elsewhere... Yikes.
  9. While it may not be the big reason for his suicide, I don't doubt that in some ways, his fame and the "rockstar life" did partially lead to his untimely death. When you have a certain view of the way the world is supposed to be, its hard to adjust when that's all pulled out from under you. He was a genius and the world is a little better thanks to him.
  10. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=1871775187 Someone selling a mode of transportation these days that doesn't come with a CD player... I think I'll pass.
  11. I guess I'll just have to learn to deal with 8-1.
  12. Ha ha! The short-sightedness of the "ND Haters" amuses me. This cast was supposed to be one of the worst in the nation, and Willingham has guided them to 8 wins, and with a little luck, there is still a chance of a BCS berth. I never really believed they were a national champion contender... yet. This program is going to be a football goliath in a few years. Anyone who doesn't see that is either A) stupid, B) really stupid, or C) really f***ing stupid (I like to think all three). No, there are no excuses, but this the Fightin' Irish are still having an unbelievable season, and I'm still proud as hell to call them my team. GO IRISH! (I can live with 11-1). Man, though, I do remember some people saying Nebraska had no chance at the Rose Bowl last year after their shlacking at the hands of Colorado. There's still a lot of season to be played yet, they're not done. But in all honesty, that game was horrible... Fumbles, penalties, bad plays... It just didn't have a good feel from the get go; however, despite playing like absolute s***, they could have easily won this game. I mean, let's be real.. A Pee Wee football team could have manhandled the Irish today (what does that say about BC and their 7-point win?) I'm not discouraged one bit in the direction they're going. If anything, maybe this is a wake up call they need... They've played laxisdasical the last few weeks (they really should have pounded FSU by more), and maybe now they'll realize that they aren't unbeatable. GO IRISH!
  13. I would pick up Posada in an instant and see if I could deal Olivo and maybe another prospect for a pitcher. Having a catcher that good helps out the entire staff. He's a solid defensive catcher who can hit (!) and he can play a lot.
  14. I was never really sold on Anthony Thomas being a dominating RB. I've always seen him as being a product of that great Michigan O-Line, and then a solid line with the Bears last year. Of course, that's true of any runner. Stick them behind any All-Pro line and watch the yards stack up, however, I never thought that Thomas was as good as his inflated stats suggest. He is an average RB, at best.
  15. Delvis Lantigua, Denis Ulacia. Also watch Dave Sanders, Dave Stewart, Arnie Munoz, Clay Eason, Ryan Meaux. Argh! f***! Man, I have to stop writing these things at 1 AM.
  16. Well, I think we may assume that some of Biddle's problems stem from having Nardi as a pitching coach. The man was a mental midget, people. I do like Biddle. He does have a bulldog attitude to him, and, as I wrote in my crystal ball article, I think he will outduel Glover and Rauch for that final spot in the rotation if Kenny doesn't pick up another starter. Of couse, that's just a moot point if Kenny does make a significant move to the rotation; however, I think coming out of the 'pen doesn't hurt Rocky either. I definitely think he is underrated as a pitcher.
  17. and I didn't go to kindergarten the day teacher told us what days are what... In Part 2, I April 31st should be MARCH 31st... I always get the knuckle thing wrong.
  18. As much I generally dislike the Chicago sports media, I did like Darrien... He just seemed like a warm, nice kind of guys that you could sit and have a beer with at a bar... Even though I'm no longer in the Chicago area (most of the year), he'll be missed.
  19. This whole organization smells of Reinsdorf's s***.

    VERY Sad news

  21. Ah, that wouldn't surprise me. If your franchise's best hitter ever isn't safe, who is?
  22. Because if he does perform, he's a steal. The move makes sense. He's a lefty, they have very few lefties. Why not take a cheap bet on Siro regaining form?
