  1. Heather, while I commend you for your ethics and your staunch determination to stay faithful to your beliefs, morals and ethics are NOT standard; rather they are fluid. Everyone has their own take on the subject, and I have learned that trying to force your own ethics down someone else's throat doesn't lead to anything but a crazy bastard pulling you out of a car and beating you with a baseball bat. Great, you've discovered how you want to happily live your life, but don't expect everyone else to live life according to the "Gospel of Heather the Redbird." Remember, the Bible techinically says it is a sin to wear clothes that have crossing threads, so if you got any plaid or whatnot, you are sinning each time you wear them. As far as I'm concerned, the Bible is a story book and people get in a lot of trouble when they take it out of its originally concieved context.
  2. Nah, I don't have a problem finding and hookin' up with girls; I have a problem hangin' on to them.... Much like I have a major problem holding onto a job (I worked at Jewel for 3 1/2 months... that tops it)... But its OK. The best band aid for a broken heart is another hottie.
  3. But she's hot..........................................
  4. Hmm... I didn't even think of that. This is actually good advice. And thanks for your concern, HSC, but I'm having no problems in the "getting ass" department. All joking aside, though, I wouldn't risk it. You're already coming off as feeling guilty before you've even done anything remotely wrong, and guys only get caught when their emotions start acting up like a whiny b****, and by the looks of this thread, she's going to see right through you like a wet Kleenex. However, if you feel like risking it, go for it man. Just no half-assing it. You've got to be in these things 100% or not at all. However, I wouldn't know too much on the subject, as my longest relationship with a girl lasted all of 3 months. I can't even imagine what it must be like to be with someone monogamously for 2 YEARS. (I think if you add up the time I was with my longest 5 or 6 girlfriends, it approaches 2 years, actually), but in my time at high school, I ran into this sort of thing over and over again. If you're comfortable with the consequences, do it! If not, don't.
  5. could run as well as he saves guys' lives, we'd be 5-1 right now. http://espn.go.com/nfl/news/2002/1014/1445987.html
  6. I think this sums up my opinion...
  7. Actually, the 2001 throwbacks were tribute to the 1917 jerseys the Sox wore in their World Series win over the Giants, since World War I was going on at the time in '17 and not in '19. But hey, when you haven't won the big one in 85 years or so, how's counting 2 years?

    My Picks

Here, if you still need it... http://soxfansnflpix.tripod.com/
  9. hahaha...dude you aren't gonna be able to train for a marathon in a year. It all depends on how well the knee holds up.
  10. No, the Sox are starting to develop a mini-tradition with the current logo. That, and it really does kick ass. Anything they do would be a step in the wrong direction. I think they should wear the vests with black shirts underneath more often though, but keep the logo.
  11. But blowing them to smithereens before they do the same to us isn't an option. It is, but there are better.
  12. I don't know. I'm surprised Jjav didn't add to the "marathons in general" topic that marathons are stupid. The human body isn't designed to run 26.2 miles (that is how long a marathon is correct?) as evidenced by the plethora of ambulances and medical personnel on hand at these stupid ass events. Hell, my body isn't even designed to run 5 miles a day let alone 26.2 miles at one time. The human body really isn't designed to do a lot of things we put it through, but it adapts. People have a passion. I'm seriously debating training for next year's marathon... Gonna take a lot of laps in the pool, though.
  13. LOL... I love Nuke's backhanded compliments.
  14. I catch your drift and I don't completely disagree with you. I'm not under any illusions about how much the arab world loves us. And I'm not one who normally takes a moderate stance on issues but in this case I fall somewhere between you and doub. Big target, go figure. Who doesn't fall in between my stance and HSC's? I think the only two stances left are rewarding the Arab nation and just obliterating the whole world.
  15. They think he's a numero uno. Guys better than Mark cost more than Mark. Todd Ritchie and Royce Clayton both costed more than Mark. I wouldn't have that big of a deal with this if I knew that Jerry would take that money and invest it in a winner, because (if someone in the front office is reading this), I have no problems forking over money to watch a solid baseball team. I did it in 2000 and would gladly spend money on watching the Sox if they were playing well. However, if the Sox play like they did for the majority of this season, I wouldn't pay a dollar to watch them play, because, aside from essentially flushing my dollar down the s***ter, I am wasting 3 good hours of my time. Oh, Jerry Reinsdorf. Why do the evil ones always live so damn long?
  16. see the problem with that is that most of those arabs follow saddam and guys like him.. same thoughts same actions ..... so taking them all out would solve that right away...... We didn't kill all the Germans after WW2. Or all the Japs either. Saddam Hussein is a murdering, terrorist supporting, tyrant. To me going after him = going after Hitler. On the other hand we could attempt to kill an entire race because we have a perception that some of them have ideas we don't like and because it seems more convenient. To me that = acting like Hitler. Thank you, bjmarte. While I still think going to war would be a major mistake, I can at least understand (and even agree with, to a certain extent) the rationale behind this stance.
  17. Yep, just like I'd be upset about Pronger's injury! Wait a minute!!! doublem is a BLOWS fan??? Hell yeah. and f***in' Anaheim and Dallas... Spoil Opening Night... Not that I care that much about hockey, anyways. But yeah, the first time I ever saw the Blackhawks wasn't until I was 15 when we finally got cable. I do hate Detroit, tho. f***in' Red Wings.
  18. Ah, once again you miss the point. probably... Long nights of study. Makes Matt's brain hurt very much. So Matt misses point.
  19. It is hard to vote when there hasn't been an election since your 18th birthday. But I am voting abstantee this November.
  20. Well, technically Kleibold and Harris killed themselves and they haven't found that whackjob in Maryland, but that's beside the point. My point was that EVERY society on Earth has psychos who do stupid s***, but that doesn't mean that we should go and systemically eliminate that race from the face of the Earth.
  21. If anyone is interested in playing, email me at and I'll get you all the info needed to set up in the league. HOWEVER, if you are interested, please contact me ASAP since there may be a sticky situation with the online draft that we won't be able to resolve until we're set with teams... First come, first serve. Also, I can't guarantee that there will be a fantasy league, as it depends on the amount of interested showed, but if we want to do it, we can. However, if you want in, contact me.
  22. Wow. It's f***in' easy to paint with a broad brush, isn't it? Hmmm... Timothy McVeigh, Eric Harris, Dylan Kleibold (sp?), John Wayne Gasey, this psycho in Maryland... I guess every American is pyshcopathetic killer, too, eh? And yes, my answer was to avoid war. However, I can at least stomach the oust Saddam crowd, despite my objections to war, because I at least see a rational reason for this stance.... terrorism n - The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons. Yeah, that sounds familiar. I detest all violence.
  23. Well, I could give my answer but I don't think it's neccessary since we obviously don't agree on the basic assumption I make in it that most Arabs are generally good people not interested in blowing up everything they see and that just killing people for the sake of killing people gets you nowhere (for further proof of this, see what happened in the U.S. after 9-11... Have the terrorists succeeded in any way, shape or form? Hell no, because killing people for no good reason gets you f***ing nowhere). If you can follow that logic, I can tell you why I think an attack on Iraq is pointless and, in the long run, will only cause more damage to this country than doing something now. Seriously, though, are you just exagerating for my sake (most of my more conservative friends often times make outrageous statements when they talk with me that they end up retracting), or is everyone here as pro-Arab genocide as I think they are? Because if you are, that completely scares me. And, yes, AVOID f***ING WAR AT ALL COSTS! Peace....
