I don't subscribe to the notion that because the 2005 team struggled in the latter half of the season and picked it up right before the postseason and were dominant in the playoffs that this team will do the same but all the same I get what the OP is trying to say. What I find frustrating is that the Sox lineup on paper is too good to be having these lackluster offensive performances, especially having a couple of our big bats back in the lineup. Hopefully it's them still getting their rhythm back and a few guys needing rest, fortunately the Indians and the rest of the Central aren't really a threat and since TLR is already making it a priority of resting guys, that strategy will pan out later this year. I have my qualms about LaRussa but he has a proven record of being able to manage championship teams, hopefully he can retire as world series winning manager for the first franchise he managed for.

Yes indeed, getting the vibe the Sox will no compete at all in a totally winnable game.

If the Sox take the rubber match tomorrow with which I will assume will be an MLB lineup, all will be forgotten. Buenas tardes amigos

TLR is trading wins for resting guys apparently
-
Yo Goodwin did someting good!
-
There's still a ton of baseball left, and after that weird covid19 season, maybe he thinks a well rested team is more important than home field advantage? I dunno man, lol, just throwing shit out there haha
-
So the Sox are able to throw out guys trying to steal?!?!
-
With MLB's biggest division lead and barring some horrific turn of events, the Sox should easily win the division...seems like TLR is putting a premium on resting guys. Sucks for us but maybe he knows what he's doing?

TA got the day off?

Oof, just saw the Bears score...no bueno
-
Are they playing right now?

Thinking about getting my guitar out and playing some Iron Maiden while having the game on my laptop in the background, just to see if the Sox show some interest in this game, haha...
-
Just tuned in, is it just me getting the vibe that the Sox basically are giving this game away?
-
Miss Leury? Not sure if serious...

Saw the score and right away thought Dallas must be pitching...

I thought it was a stupid move to pull him for Bummer, I trust a proven vet like CK over AB to get the third out in that situation.
-
What I don't get is why LaRussa won't use Liam as the set up guy, he has said many times that he doesn't really care what role the Sox want him in, he just wants to pitch. Ok then, he gets the 8th and have CK get the 9th? If it's really that important for Kimbrel to close, why not try that? If he becomes Cubs Kimbrel and Liam is true to his word, the 8th inning issues are gone and we get a proven elite closer nailing it down...

If the bullpen as a whole can come around, this team can get on a run to snag home field advantage, still a ton of baseball left though but great win...3/4 against the Rays this year.

I said this earlier, TB is the best team in the AL according to wins/losses and playing in the tough AL East but looks like the Sox match up better against them than the Astros and Yankees. -
