QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 12:06 PM) well, here it is. This s*** again. Thanks a lot mexsoxfan#1. You deserve all of the WNBA talk that you get Sorry, this IS a message forum, right? If you don't like the topic, take your own advice. Oh, and we are talking about the NBA, the WNBA has it's own thread and I'll be updating it before it dies off...

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 12:00 PM) Whatever. The 60's and 70's were the same s***. Dwight would obliterate either decade. Wilt>>>>D12 J4L, I like you dude but I get the feeling you just say somethings for the shock value.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 11:51 AM) You didn't need it back then. There's this one guy, I won't mention his name, but it rhymes with Jill Tussell, that is considered to be one of the 10 best players of all time even though he's really not. I'm not going to get into your hatred of Russell, lol. He was known for his defensive abilities and leadership skills more than hie offense. He won 11 titles, he must've done something right.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 11:42 AM) And a healthy Dwight Howard would average 35/15/10 back in Kareem's prime. What's your point? lol, because Howard has an array of offensive moves...
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 11:25 AM) Sorry, it's a different game now. Centers aren't allowed to just camp out in the paint and block shots (Mutombo/Eaton). A big now has to be almost agile/athletic as a wing to get by today. Prime KAJ would demolish the league today, who gon' stop him?
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 11:22 AM) I might be guilty of that but how is it worse than those who think Jordan would be no better than Wade today? OK, let's not go there
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 11:08 AM) Kevin Love -injured Dwight Howard - injured/disinterested Andrew Bynum - bigger vagina than Rose That's three guys right there that would easily be 20-10 if healthy. I get that but those guys wouldn't sniff top 5 quality big men in other eras though. All I'm saying is that we should have a plethora of quality big men if athletes are in fact much bigger faster and stronger...there wouldn't be any room for Chris Paul and Tony Parker if that were true, IMO.
-
QUOTE (Boogua @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 06:59 AM) For the first time in NBA history the league will have zero 20 point 10 rebound players. Tim Duncan is the only player averaging 20 and 10 per 36 apparently (and he's 36). Kind of crazy. Obviously this is a category that quality big men own. For those who believe that humans have evolved over the last 30 years and endlessly spout off the mantra "bigger, stronger, faster!", I ask...where are the 7"0 freaks of nature??? Shouldn't we be having more of those than less? No one has come up with an answer. The last player who fits that description was drafted in '92. LBJ and KD, who aren't big men but rather big for their positions, are outliers.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 07:49 AM) This. I thought the only team that would stand a chance against the Heat was San Antonio, but they just don't have the athleticism. They might get 2 out of 6. Well, if it goes to 6, the Spurs would have to win 2
-
QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 04:14 PM) It's actually going to be a pretty interesting year in the WNBA this year. Phoenix's tankjob has basically gifted them with a studly team, but LA and Minnesota aren't slouches either. Tulsa will be better too, although probably a year or two away from really competing with the top 3 in the West. They could easily steal the 4th playoff spot away from San Antonio, though. Add in Connecticut and Indiana out East and there are 5 or 6 teams that could win the title without it being much of a surprise. Phoenix is probably the favorite, but they have some serious defensive issues that Griner won't be able to fix by herself.
-
QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 03:50 PM) Are you really so insecure about yourself that three posts about the WNBA infuriated you to the point where you had to create a thread mocking the entire league? lol
-
There's a WNBA thread now.
-
Absolutely shocked it hasn't been started before but here it is. Fire away!
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 02:54 PM) It becomes unreadable when posts like this get in the middle of two people conversing about a different subject within the same sport. Grow up, if you don't like the post then don't comment. Cool, good to know you can talk about anything as long as it's basketball...it's named the NBA thread but you might want to change it to the basketball thread because NBA thread implies it's about, oh I don't know, the NBA? Hell, let's talk NCAA basketball here too, same sport right? Oh but that's right, there's a NCAA thread because there's an interest in it. Siena beat Barcelona 77-69, was a great game! Ask yourself why there isn't a WNBA thread (hint, no one gives a s***) but whatever, this thread sucks nowadays.
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 02:20 PM) Nah, it's gone, hence why I mentioned depressing Felix. And I just find it interesting that the Sky might actually have a marketable player I wonder why... This thread has become unreadable.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 12:24 PM) Why is this in the NBA thread? There's a WNBA thread isn't there? Thank you. If I want to talk about s***ty level basketball, I'll go there.

Great win
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 06:33 PM) This has been the Heat's m.o. for, like the last 10 games. Start slow - finish really, really strong. No s***, Sherlock...
-
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 06:24 PM) 3 fouls on Haslem and 1st quarter isn't even over lolz We got 'em right where we want 'em
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 02:15 PM) I just dont trust Thibs to play Rose for 5-10 minutes and watch the Bulls lose. He just has not shown the ability to rest injured players. ...................
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 01:53 PM) A back injury and knee injury are two very different things. True, but my point is that Howard was cleared to play and obviously judging by his play, wasn't really healthy. cleared by doctors =/= healthy
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 01:39 PM) I think he falls behind in his rehab if he doesn't get into games this year. As I've stated, there probably are other forces besides Derrick and what he feels his body is telling him. Maybe it is his brother, maybe it's not. Maybe it's Adidas. Maybe it's the Bulls. If his body is telling him not to play, why is he scrimmaging and playing one on one in practice? There is something more than his knee feels a little funny when he's going to his right. We probably will never know the entire truth. I seen some of those videos, street pick up games are more intense. Dwight Howard is a great example of why coming back to soon isn't always the greatest idea and he was fully cleared by doctors...
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 01:30 PM) The problem is playing in real games is part of his rehab. He doesn't want to take that step for some reason. Watching some of the clips of him practicing, and some of the comments for those who have seen him, there is doesn't seem to be much reason he shouldn't be moving on to the next part of his rehab. The longer he sits, the higher the expectations when he does return. He knows his body better than anyone of us do. He'll eventually return and I hope it's next season where he won't feel '"pressured" to come out of the gate elite like some Bulls fans think. I can't wait to see him in training camp!
