  1. He is in the 3rd percentile for xwOBA and was in the 4th percentile in 2019. He has proven himself to be one of the worst hitters in baseball. I get that his versatility is theoretically valuable, but how much is that really worth when it comes with a terrible bat? It also doesn’t help that Tony thinks he’s good from the left side and continually misuses him, but I guess that’s a topic for a different day.
  2. Yeah I don’t disagree with anything you say Cali, but kind of hard to place all those bats. Would be a good problem to have, but you’re right, we’ll see if they can land all those pieces. The system being in bad shape won’t help matters unfortunately.
  3. Pretty sure Scott Harris has it in the bag as of the moment
  4. Wasn’t it technically a mistake? Not trying to hate either because he’s definitely good out there.
  5. Let’s add both and win the whole damn thing.
  6. I think he’s we should be pursuing Escobar & Marte over Frazier, but it would be way more awesome if he’s actually heard something around that.
  7. Just to expand on this, imagine this lineup: Anderson, SS Robert, CF Moncada, 3B# Abreu, 1B Jimenez, R Grandal, C# Marte, RF Vaughn, LF Escobar, 2B#
  8. James on the money as usual...definitely my top two targets for the offense
  9. Awesome...just feels like a perfect match.
  10. Have you heard any specific names Pal?
  11. The D-Backs will move all their guys on expiring deals regardless of who is GM, but I agree it probably takes Marte off the table. As for Escobar, he’s made 20 starts at 2B this year and the advanced metrics really like his defense there.
  12. All good...I just know hi8is is a big Madrigal fan and figure I’d share
  13. Honestly, that’s probably the most logical explanation now that you say it.
  14. We still need an OF upgrade even if Robert & Eloy come back. Eaton is now below .200 BA wise with an 89 wRC+.
  15. He’s mocking the Madrigal haters
  16. Without question I would.
  17. Is Yoan hurt or just trying to give him a rest?
  18. I don’t think it would cost Stiever. At this point, Calhoun has negative trade value given his health and salary, although that could change some if he comes back strong. The problem is we don’t have a ton of mid tier prospects to trade. Gonzalez has had a rough start to the season, Rutherford is regressing, and Adolfo is out of options after the year. Those are the guys we should be looking to move, but just don’t think they have much value at this point. Pilkington has pitched well this year and so has Bilous, who has a pretty big arm even if the reliever risk is pretty high with him. Both are only 23 and in AA and when combined with absorbing Calhoun’s salary it might just be enough to get Escobar.
  19. Wow that is strange. Admittedly I have no idea how visas work, but I would have assumed if he can’t play for an affiliate then he couldn’t be stateside. Regardless, let’s hope it gets settled soon. I was super bummed about Vera not coming over this year, but at least he’s young enough to overcome it. Cespedes losing a full season would be really problematic.
  20. He’ll cost more than you think unfortunately. Regardless, we should be targeting power like you said.
  21. Awesome, did he just get stateside? If so, hopefully they’re just giving him some time to get back in the flow of things before heading to Birmingham.
  22. Frazier is a good player but you’d be paying a premium for him with the season he’s having and the extra year of control. I’d rather target a rental or simply go after Haniger if I’m giving up that much prospect capital.
  23. Stiever coming off a nice start...hopefully he can keep it rolling.
