The question so obvious that noone thought to ask

The 2nd-3rd round RB's like JJ Arington, Shelton, or Fason are better than the 2nd-3rd round QB's imo. -

The Bears currently have twos spots on the team where they are without a guy you can pencil in as a starter, one of them isn't RB -

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) Okay Ill break this down really slow. In the first round the bears draft a RB. In the second round the bears draft a wr or te. The Bears starting line up would be: Mush, Gage, Wade, Rookie. 4 good quality recievers, with 1 that will get the majority of the balls. A TE who was under utilized. Our rb would be: Thomas Jones and rookie. Hayes, Nah thats a bad argument. Harrison would just have to be 3x more productive per touch. If we assume a RB gets about 3 yds pc, the WR has to get about 9 ypc. SB Ok, let me break this down slow There is more depth at the RB positon than the WR position in this years draft -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) Which is why we picked up Moose. And I'm 99.9% certain that Turner wants to use Gage a hell of a lot more than Terry Shea used him. I like Mike Williams, but I think having a top back -- who will touch the ball 20-35 times a game -- is more important than a wide receiver, who won't get the ball half the time. And without a #2 reciever opposing defenses can stop Moose, then we will be counting on Wade and Gage to keep the defense honest. -

They work hand in hand. Run creates pass, pass creates run You need a blanced offense. Right now the Bears have a starting HB They do not have a 2nd starting WR -

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) Jackie, And our 2nd rb touched the ball 3x more than Wade. SB Because our starting RB was hurt QB sucks and Wade isnt a #2 reciever -

No matter the offensive line, we couldn't run last year when the defense has no worries about you passing game and load the box. -

And what opens up the ability to run the ball? You all saw what Thomas Jones did when Rex Grossman was healthy last year, look at the GB game. Healthy Rex+Moose+MW+2 New olineman=monster year for TJ -

You ask what happens if TJ goes down? Our 2nd round RB plays in his place Depth of RB>Depth or WR in this draft 1) Mike Williams 2) Ciatrick Fason TJ goes down, we have a backup. We also have two great WR's that will give Rex options and open our running game. -

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) Back up running back will probably get minimum 10 touches a game, where as 2nd reciever may not even have 1 ball thrown his way. BUT if you have Moose and MW on the field at the same time that will make TJ twice the runner he was last year -

Also, I really couldn't rank the RB's because it's really close IMO. It's just a really general thing where I see WR more of a hole than RB -

As I was trying to explain I don't think Benson will be bad I would just prefer to go another route. -

My thing is you can get Moose and MW on the field together a helluva lot more than you can Benson and TJ -

Mike Williams 30 TD, 6'4" 230 frame, 2 years of 80 grabs and 1,000 yards and doesn't fall asleep in big games. -

Or we realize that Thomas Jones will outproduce Benson this year if Grossman has 2 WR's to keep defenses honest. -
I don't want another power runner, we could have just kept ATrain We need WR more If we take a back I would rather pick the one who I feel has the best chance to be "special" Not to say Benson won't be a solid NFL back I would just prefer a WR or one of the Auburn backs

QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) this is kinda early for another team thread though If we win and the Twins lose it means thats one less game we have to take on them in September
