Competitors for the open bullpen slot
QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Mar 6, 2010 -> 09:23 AM) I know it's early but I think we can eliminate Dolsi and Cabrera from the list to make the team in April...................... they're basically the same pitcher really, two power righties with no sense of control

Thursday's game to broadcast on WSCR
What's up with Rios' throwing shoulder? Ozzie said something about it being normal in spring training? Normal for all players, or normal for Rios?

HRs, RBIs, SBs, etc.
How many more years of Quentin getting drilled before he starts to permanently disable himself? Serious question. You'd think after a while fractures would start to develop

2010 Chicago White Sox Spring Training
those pictures are awesome... anybody know if MLB.com will broadcast spring games for free this year? i think they were free last year, and were only part of mlb.tv package in 2008 edit: oh well, just bought the premium package... my 3rd year in a row as an mlb.tv subscriber, gotta say if it's as good as last year i'll be happy

Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
QUOTE (b-Rye @ Feb 20, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) It's not over yet... KW will probably trade some prospects around AS break for a overpaid player after his experiment already failed. Anybody want to place some money down on Flowers and Hudson being gone by July 31st I have been saying this all off-season, there's no way they are still with this organization when we're currently trying to win now An A-Gon trade would be amazing but I'm guessing it'll be something a bit less stellar and would make some people here scratch their heads

Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 20, 2010 -> 11:07 AM) It looks like he's made predictions before that were a bit off, although this one really isn't going out on a limb. yeah it'd be funny if this turned out to be like the NFL scout prediction

Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 20, 2010 -> 10:43 AM) A big grain of salt, although you would think with the date, his signing would be relatively soon. I just don't understand how a guy who works for the Dodgers a team with apparently no interest in the player would have the scoop, but I'm sure its possible. updated my post, he says it'll be made official on Monday so we might not hear anything for a few days

Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
I think it's almost a lock for AJ to be back for at least 2011, I'd put that at about 95% probability. There's absolutely no way Kenny entrusts this pitching staff with Flowers next year. This isn't to say we don't make a deal for another catcher besides AJ, but I'd put AJ as the far and away favorite to be here next year

Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
More Damon Contract info (from a guy who's brother works for the Dodgers, take with a grain of salt) Says Damon has signed with the Tigers, will be made official MONDAY edited: announcement date will be Monday, not today

Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4929220 Rumors on ESPN DET board are it's a 1yr/6m deal. Haha

Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
When taking crawfords actual talent and ability into considersation, he may be the most overrated player in baseball. Not knocking him because hes pretty good, but look at the guys numbers, other than SBs, nothing pops out that tells me he deserves the hype surrounding him

Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
QUOTE (b-Rye @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 08:05 PM) Looks like we're gonna get him... will be a very nice signing, really think this lineup will be very productive and exciting to watch. I still think there's somehow a 3rd team floating around that we aren't hearing about
-
Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
is it 4.5 million with 2 more million in deferrals, stretching that total amount to 6.5 million? or is it 2.5 million up front with 2 more in deferrals making 4.5m total?

Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 09:28 PM) Damen I think you mean. There's a Thome street, though I think it's tiny. At least I can only remember seeing it one place, around 5800 N Ridge or so. There's a Jim Thome Dr. in Bartonville IL (i live about 15 minutes from there), he's from the Peoria area, though most people here are flubs fans

Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
Let's say we signed damon, and were given a situation to sign AGon, either soon or before the trade deadline That would certainly mean the end of either Teahen (unlikely with the new contract), Konerko, or Quentin as we would have 10 starting players instead of 9 after the Damon signing
