See my last post in the NBA thread, I have got you covered.

Jury is still out, but at least at the time of the trade, media has Hahn fleecing the other team from the big 3 trades. I couldn’t remember the last time we had consensus Gar has won a trade that actually proved out to be true after. Besides the awful trades (like the McDermott or Cam Payne one), it’s also his inability to make the necessary moves that puts Gar at another level of incompetence.
-
Is it? Have you seen Markkanen this year? They traded away a first round pick in the process. It’s a move they had to make, but consensus at the time was they sold low on Butler. A year and a half later, that’s still looking to be the case. And besides this move, you’d be hard pressed to find anything that resembles a good move by Gar. Not only that, he has also made a bunch of terrible moves in between. Hahn has made a few great move at start of the rebuild, and recent moves has been at least meh to decent. But it’s not even close if you compare him to Gar.
-
Only if you’re using the inferior WAR stats. Lindor/Ramirez was only 12.4 in 2017 and 15.6 in 2018. The core of Sale/Q/Eaton/Abreu was 17.3 in 2016.
-
It’s not even close. Think of the last time last time Rick Hahn has made a good move, now think of the last the time Gar Forman has made one.
-
I won’t defend KW, but Hahn gets an incomplete grade for now, we will see how the pieces he put together with full reign pans out in 2 years. And also in the context of KW/Hahn vs GarPax, I don’t think it’s close which is the worse dual.
-
With the surplus value the Sale, Q, and Eaton contract had?
-
The list literally stops after Eaton, there weren’t much else to work with, so I definitely won’t call it squandering. And how did we negotiate the Sale or Quintana contract to begin with? Oh wait...
-
You do realize having 3 great players on a 25 man roster isn’t a whole lot to work with compared to a much smaller rosters in the NBA, and that one league has a salary cap, the other has uncapped spending.

2018-2019 Official NBA thread

It’s a tired argument but had ping pong ball not go our way, we wouldn’t even have mustered the 2 season of upper east echelon status during the Rose era. So I’m not quite sure what success you’re referring to. To Paxson’s credit, the team has generally drafted well during his tenure, but everything else have been a disaster, from the hiring of unqualified coaches, to the fallouts with multiple coaches, toxic lockeroom relationships, training staff incompetence, poor decisions in the trade market, inability to recruit free agents, selling draft picks for capital during rebuild, reluctance to spend on international scouting, and worse of all, despite Forman’s incompetency, he has been given immunity indefinitely. At this rate, future free agents will not see Bulls for the glory from the Jordan days, but a laughing stock of a franchise where complacency and incompetence are accepted, and a front office that’s completely out of touch with the rest of the league. -

Extending an incompetent coach in the mid of a 6 game losing streak and a 40 point drubbing is a dumpster fire. -
Both have said they’re not interested in Philly as a city, why would they hold out for Phillies as if they’re the more preferred destination? If Manny’s holding out, he’s waiting for Sox to blink and raise the offer to meet his numbers and his name would be signed on the dotted line.
-
There are some young pieces in place that should be part of the core for next 5-6 years. It doesn’t take a lot once a few of the top prospects start playing near their full potential, especially if we land a guy like Manny, to make the playoffs. Let’s revisit this after Sox make playoffs in 2020. Maybe we will see you eat a bigger crow this time around.
-
Show me a GM who hit on every move and I will show you a genius. Using record as an argument when we have been rebuilding for 2 years is a weak argument. No one is saying Hahn is perfect, no one truly knows how decisions were made behind closed doors. But it doesn’t take a lot to see who was in power then and now. What you should do is at least acknowledge Hahn has made some great moves during this rebuild and should get the benefit of the doubt until it’s clear this rebuild is a failure. If you still choose to jump the gun on every move because of your disapproval of Hahn, prepare to get roasted.
-
If you refuse to believe he wasn’t truly in power until recently, then you may actually be correct Hahn is a shitty GM.
-
No one is stalking you. But you have been one of the most skeptical and even negative posters against this regime. You already had your fire Hahn posts ready after the Dan Clark tweets, and claiming MM to Yankees was a done deal, just because they are the Yankees and we are the White Sox. Yet you were giving people hard time for falling for any pro-Sox tweets. And then there’s all the crap posts about Sox’s biggest contract being Abreu and there is no way we even have a shot in this race. Quit living in the past if you don’t want to get roasted, realize thing are changing and that this FO is giving the effort to turn the franchise around and change its perception. We’re only 2 years into the rebuild and we were off to a good start, give Hahn a chance before bringing out the ax , buddy.

But wasn't Manny going to Yankees per Dan Clark, DA?

One more reason to dislike Trevor Bauer
thxfrthmmrs replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
All of these were friendly ball busting jabs until Bauer took it to another level. Not sure how you failed to see that. No she did not have it coming for what she tweeted, not sure how you could handle being a public figure when you could not handle a tweet of 16 YO girl on period. Bauer is some sort of stalkerish freak who accused a college chick who tweeted him 4 times of being obsessed with him, when it’s clear that it’s the other way around, him tagging her in 40 tweets. -

Really? That is seriously a weak jab and a weak excuse. I am pretty sure Bauer knows how twitter works by now and knows the consequences of his action (with the followers he has), yet he decided to do it anyways and act like a dick in the process. -

Fans tweet at celebrities and athletes all the time in a much more derisive and negative light. Bauer took it literally and personally based on her first tweet and responded. It wouldn't have been a huge deal even from there, athletes tweet back fans all the time. This escalated when Bauer persisted to battle, and sent out 30 tweets and going back to year old history of her posts to insult here (seriously you would only expect from serial stalkers or trolls, not professional athletes who get tweeted at all the time). Bauer's persistence caught the attention of his fans and they decided to jump in to mock her and blew this up. To say that she should have known better and expected this from professional athlete isn't going to cut it. What she tweet him is pretty tamed compared to what goes on at twitter these days. -
Sox Sign Jon Jay; 1 year/$4 mil, Charlie Tilson DFA'd
thxfrthmmrs replied to soxfan49's topic in Pale Hose Talk
For those looking for jobs in the Sox organization use Manny Machado as your personal reference. -
I imagine now we just need Manny to sign above the line next to the X. I hope he doesn’t screw it up and signs on the line, Hahn would have to give him a new contract to sign.
-
There so much smoke of Manny to White Sox at this point if it does happen, it would be a huge let down.

Just quickly scrolling through the FA list, Tyrell Williams would be someone I would love to bring in. -

Again, read reports of how he was used in that offense. You are just throwing out numbers without looking at context and also the need of this team. And also really try hard to think about why we were shut down on offense in the first half. While you’re at it, also look at how this team faired in deep pass attempts and efficiencies this season. Then you could justify what the bigger need is for this team.
