  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 10:18 AM) Throwing 110 pitches or more in 8 of last 11 starts isn't helping Wouldn't it be wise to preserve the guy you're not trading and building around in a losing season
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 04:42 PM) Axelrod on his way to being in the bottom 3 in the AL in ERA, BAA and WHIP. In other words, he's overmatched as a starter in the AL. It offends me as a fan to have him in the rotation.
  3. Something about Axelrod's face made me want to hit him before I even saw him pitch. I really hate him and his weak right handed 87mph fastball.
  4. Last night's 8th inning totally makes this game worth watching anyway. Axe vs Porcello
  5. If we can't make the playoffs, might as well make it hard on them. Go fcking Sox. De Aza Ramirez Rios Dunn Kep Gillaspie Viciedo Becks Phegley Quintana on the bump
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 8, 2013 -> 08:43 PM) I think we'll get bodies. We're going to find out if they are any good. I just don't see teams giving up much for a rental in Crain. Isn't he a free agent after this year? And Matt Thornton? Cmon. That ship has sailed. That leaves guys like Peavy, Dunn and Rios. I happen to think we'll not be able to move Rios or Dunn and with Peavy's injury history? What general manager can give up studs for Jake Peavy at this point? I'd say our best bet to get a decent player is for Peavy, but a GM has to be careful with his history. Rios & Peavy are both above average players with decent contracts & are not rentals. 2 & 1/2 years of Peavy and 1&1/2 of Rios will get some teams to give up good players.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 8, 2013 -> 08:39 PM) I think we're going to get a ton of Class A prospects for a lot of our players, plus cash, and I'll leave it up to our minor league forecasters to tell us whether these guys are any good or not. Not to be a dick but everything I've seen you post about the return on anybody is that we're not going to get anything good, so I'm gonna ignore that input.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2013 -> 08:36 PM) it's scary to think how bad this team would be if Crain wasn't pitching out of his mind this season. Think we're going to get a good return on him?
  9. It's probably a lot easier to remember Thornton blowing close games than other guys because he is put into more close games than anyone. But he definitely has regressed in those situations from when he was scary dominant.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 8, 2013 -> 07:28 PM) If he's a bad player, get him outta the lineup. I'll trust you. I know nothing about him. The whole team is bad lol; hence, people like Tekotte.
  11. Honestly if he is even close to league average offensively and defensively for the amount they're paying him and the other available options, I'll be happy with him.
  12. Seems to me like a way to keep Kenny and Hahn both around. Kenny is still the big dog, Hahn gets a fancy new title and some more cash. Everyone's happy.
  13. f*** yes Soxtalk. Best site to read when you're just too phucked up
  14. Everything on that list screams Verlander. He is the guy.
  15. who drunkenly checkjs and posts on soxtalk at 6:30 in the morning. this guyl. hectory santiago is coming back up to strike ***** out and lead us straight to that world seriies. white sox what up.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 11:58 AM) Not after last night. Danks belongs now. This. Also Wise is kind of bad. Like, really bad.
  17. I don't think you send Danks down for Wise at any point.
  18. After going through this I looked up Keenyn Walker's stats and holy s***. Why isn't this guy getting more notice? .291/.401/.414 line this year with 47 SB so far.
  19. I'd offer 3/45 if they thought he was healthy. If he likes Chicago and winning he might take t.
  20. I think Reed did a great job considering Alex f***ed up Doumit's hit and the umpire refused to call strikes strikes.
