Agreed, I don’t know how they would be able to accomplish that when they can’t be an everyday starter at another position. One or two may have to be moved.

Relievers are a crapshoot. One year they can really good and the next year they can be bad or they can be really good the 1st half of the season and bad for the 2nd half of the season. Heuer is a good example of this. He wasn’t pitching all that great with the Sox and than all of a sudden he was pitching great with the Cubs. What changed? Was it a change of scenery? Was it a change in pitching philosophy or mechanics? With Kimbrel, I think it had a lot to do with how they were using him. It just didn’t work out this year.

I think it’s more likely he’s in his office right now staring out the window wondering what happened in the 2nd half of the season and in the postseason. Lol

Oscar Colas and Y. Cespedes? Hahahaha Colas isn’t even on the team yet and Cespedes is not even ready yet for the big leagues.

I think they should go after Marte. He can hit for power, hit for contact and move runners along, get on base and steal bases. Also, he can play any of the corner outfield positions and provides some versatility. That solves a lot our issues and he’s not that expensive.

Yeah replacing garbage with garbage is not the way to go. They need to aim high.

I agree, I think they never fully bounced back from their injuries. It’s like they were playing catch up for the whole year. They didn’t have their full lineup playing the whole season and that’s probably what taxed the pitching as well because they were having to pitch more innings and they were having to rely on there bullpen quite a bit.

I think they should just stick with what they have because there are more pressing needs. They should also offer Rodon the QO to see if he would accept it, however I don’t think he will so if that’s the case than they should just let him walk. He’s not worth all that money for what else they need to improve the roster.

I forgot to mention that. Your right, he probably never fully recovered from the injury. Tbh, Grandal and Robert probably didn’t either.

Robert made some big strides this year and in the postseason. Leury was an improvement from last year and I think Sheets adjusted as well. However, I agree with you that Eloy was a disappointment and the rest of the team wasn’t that great either.

Yeah the stuff that happened at the end of the game was inexcusable. It can really come back and bite them in the butt later.

I think that limits the AB’s for Vaughn and Sheets if Grandal moves to DH/backup C so I’m guessing one of them is going to have to be traded. Collins will most likely be gone as well.

They always say pitching, defense and timely hitting wins championship so maybe they need to get creative with who they sign this offseason and play the right people in certain positions. Moving Grandal to DH may solve an issue there because he’s not really a good defensive catcher but he can draw walks and hit for power when he’s batting.

That’s why we need a good defensive catcher. Maybe move Grandal to DH and go out and sign another catcher.

Don’t retaliate. Just move on and go into the offseason.
