  1. Sox get the benefit of some bad d to start the 5th...lets get one here.
  2. Just a bunch of lazy outs for the Sox so far today. Shallow pops and weak grounders.
  3. Well, a six game sampling of what we saw in our first 38 games this year...an offense that isn't too explosive right now.
  4. Paulie is fighting it for the first time this season...I hope the line-up can survive for a few weeks without him being ultra productive.
  5. Adam going the other way in consecutive games. Very nice. Average beginning to climb again.
  6. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 10:28 PM) Being a baseball player's so tough. How can they handle it? They went to bed at 5 a.m. and have to work at 7 p.m.? Oh, the humanity! They actually have to be at the park way earlier than that...point is still valid though.
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 10:13 PM) You all hate our bullpen when our worst guys blow it but I never hear a peep when Jones-Thornton-Crain-Reed shut it down (may not be a better top 4 bullpen guys out there) and the rest of those guys are what you expect -- sometimes on, sometimes off. Paying much of anything for a bullpen arm would be very superfluous at this point. Brian Bruney is not a bad 5th reliever, might as well let him have that role. Usually Ohman does a good job against lefties, not tonight. Stewart does fine as a long man, but I wouldn't mind letting him start in the minors instead if we've got somebody else. Sorry man...but as many games as Crain-Jones-Reed & company have nailed down, there have been a number of down 4-2, 5-3 type games that have turned to blowouts becuase Ohman, Santiago and Stewart can't hold a team down. A good team needs to take 8-10 of these type games a season. Holding leads our bullpen is fine. Helping us stay in a ballgame...no. It's not a complete or good bullpen until we don't have 4 guys in it that are Godawful.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) Ball 3 was a strike to Alejandro. You gotta be consistent with your zone. I'd feel worse about that if Ohman would have gone on to walk him and the Astros got another run or two...as it was, screw Ohman. Gives up a freakin' 430 ft homer to a GD left handed hitter.
  9. And once again our secondary bullpen guys can't keep the game interesting. Unreal.
  10. Maybe Ohman can get ahead of Bugosevic 0-2 and then hit him.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 09:59 PM) lol what is with the little spin-o-rama Hector is using I was about to mention that...got annoying after his did it for the 5th time. Especially when he's giving up hits and walking guys like Castro and Maxwell.
  12. Well he was certainly happy with himself there...
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) Because of a broken bat single? Not to mention a productive groundout to the right side advancing a runner from 2nd to 3rd...and Fuku's .170ish average.
  14. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 09:45 PM) Figured they'd leave Wright in, turn O-Dawg around and face DeAza. Woops...forgot about Alexei.
  15. Figured they'd leave Wright in, turn O-Dawg around and face DeAza.
  16. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 09:34 PM) God...Santiago in to pitch. Yup...never doubted the kid for a minute.
  17. They keep talking about how "sharp" Gavin was. That's scary. Because the zone is HUGE tonight and the Astros aren't a good offense. If 6 IP and 4 ER vs. a team like Houston on a night where the zone is huge is the best we can hope for...that's not gonna cut it.
  18. I'm in the camp that says it's one botched rundown. Will probably be the only one all year. Alexei had a bad inning. Oh well...not Robins fault. Every MLB team will botch a rundown or two as the season goes along.
  19. Freakin' 0-2 base hit. Come on Matt. No more runs.
