  1. QUOTE (dmbjeff @ May 15, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) In all fairness, Beckham did have 2 hits yesterday. Ozzie may feel the drop in order helped restore some confidence. This lineup is still horses***. I want Flowers up. Let him split time between DH/C. We need a shot in the arm. I think they took his infield hit away and made it an E-4...so only one hit for Becks.
  2. I went out tonight...just watched via tivo. Glad I stayed up till 2am to watch it.
  3. Why can't guys like Vizquel and Kotsay ever get neck sprains? Or have a prego wife thats about to pop? Ubelievable...one of those years.
  4. Jayson Nix gets on base four times Sunday...hasn't played since. Vizquel our DH tonight. Unbelievable.
  5. Kotsay, Ramirez, Teahen, Becks, Visquel...smells like runs!!!
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 14, 2010 -> 02:52 PM) First...it's vastly better than it was with Singleton. Second...it's really not that bad if you listen around MLB. It's not like Vin Scully sitting down and doing a game...but it's not the bottom. I think John Rooney spoiled me...
  7. But I also like Hawk...which it seems as though a lot of people around here don't...I may just have wierd taste in broadcasts/broadcasters.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 14, 2010 -> 02:31 PM) I wonder what the stat is on a team's record the first series with a new manager hired in season. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Royals kick butt. Who cares, though. Talk is cheap. Play ball. I thought the same thing. Sometimes there is a "honeymoon" period with a new coach where the team actually performs better for a while...hopefully this is not the case in this instance.
  9. Trey Hillman was actually fired at 2am the morning before it actually came out. Dayton Moore gave him the option of managing one last game, or just addressing the team before their game yesterday. Hillman chose to coach one more game...to "go out a winner"...pretty classy move. Even though no one goes out of KC "a winner".
  10. I just think the radio broadcast as a whole is not very good. The production value of the pre and post-game shows are pretty laughable as well.
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 14, 2010 -> 12:38 AM) I love Farmio and DJ, but I love DJ when he was with Hawk too, because he fed of Hawks energy. I really don't see how anyone loves DJ. He irritates the hell out of me.
  12. Frank in the TV booth and Wimpy in the radio booth will bring good mojo...GO SOX!
  13. I love Wimpy...I think him and Farmio would make a good team. They had to do something about Rongy while DJ is in California. I wish Darin would just stay out in Cali, and Wimpy takes over for good.
  14. Ned Yost is the new Royals manager...Hopefully this doesn't spark KC as the Sox head into town.
  15. Hopefully it quits raining in KC...If they rain out tomorrow, we hit Grienke friday.
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 12, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) Friday. Kansas City, Missouri. The fuse will be lit. It will most definitely be lit. I have a feeling that Alexi Ramirez is about to go on a tear and realize his full potential. He's always gotten off to a slow start, it's the end of the first week of May, it's his time. I also think that Gordon Beckham is going to relax, see the ball and hit the ball and find his stroke to all fields that made him so lethal. And Carlos Quentin will be watching Cinemax at 2am tonight and realize he's just trying too hard, say f*** it, and turn things around. I'm serious and not just being wishful. I truly believe this team is about to go on a serious gut-check, take-no-prisoners stretch that will catapult them into the top of this division before the break in July. You've just about pumped me up enough to make a roadtrip to KC this weekend. Hopefully we can finally figure out Hochever this weekend.
  17. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 12, 2010 -> 02:37 PM) We need at least one new bat Our guys need to sleep correctly. We just can't have guys like Konerko and Jones being scratched...line-up isn't good enough. Isn't it just our luck this year? Freakin' Kotsay or Vizquel can't ever wake up with a neck strain? Konerko and Jones...two of the three guys that we can't lose....AND Alex missed time due to the birth of his child. Really the only three regulars that have missed any games due to injury this year.
  18. The death was quick today. Good day gentlemen. Back to work now.
  19. Kotsay does something positive this inning. I can feel it.
  20. We have scored in two of sixteen innings played so far this series...The offense just doesn't seem to be getting any better.
  21. Danks will come out for the 7th now. I'm fairly certain.
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 12, 2010 -> 01:51 PM) Sad to say that that flyout was as good as anything we've seen out of Carlos in a while. Other than Sunday...agreed.
