Useless, but damning stat of the night. The Sox are 0-6 when Juan Pierre leads off the game with a hit. -

Alright. Don't let Punto get aboard. Seems like whenever he gets on...he scores. -

Thats the best hit ball from Gordon since the last game in Texas. He didn't have a clue on the homestand. Maybe he just likes it on the road. -

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ May 11, 2010 -> 07:20 PM) It looked like Hudson didn't like the way Pierre slid into second. They had a few words and Hudson was grabbing Pierre's forearm. Orlando Hudsons a prick. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 11, 2010 -> 07:12 PM) i'm probably wrong, but that's the first time i've seen jp lead off a game with a hit Oddly enough, I know that both of the games we were shut out this year he led the game off with a hit. -

Please Sox...give us something. Some sign of life. -
I always try to compare the feel of a new team with that of a past White Sox team...watching and listening to this team reminds me so much of the 1995 group after the strike. That team sputtered out of the gate, and it just didn't seem like the talent or chemistry was ever there to make any kind of run at anything. Even when they won a few games in a row something always happened to halt the progress. We were shut-out, or the pitching would give up twelve runs, or a blown save...it was always something. That team ended 68-76...

Cold weather. Sweet! Our guys love cold weather...I would be for a rain-out tonight honestly. Not a super match-up for us tonight, and maybe it's God giving Beckham the few days off that Ozzie didn't have the balls to give him Although it is supposed to stop raining late afternoon, you have to wonder how hard it's been coming down. Their game vs. Baltimore on Saturday was cancelled at like 1pm in the afternoon, like five hours prior to first pitch...it might have been even earlier than that. -
As a Missouri resident, I've cancelled the first leg of my thrice-yearly weekend/midweek treck to Kansas City this weekend. That's not to say I won't go to the last six at Kauffman Stadium this year, I just can't justify spending the money on a team that at best will probably be 14-20 coming into the game...that doesn't make me a "fair-weather" fan...I will still watch on the tube, but spending $600 on a weekend in KC just isn't in my budget, and unlike the last ten years, I'm not gonna push it. That being said...if we win two in Minnesota, I hold out the right to change my mind
-
I know Freddy has a track record vs. Minnesota, but I really wish they would skip him tomorrow. With two days off this week, this is a perfect opportunity to manipulate the pitching rotation to favor us...We could even skip him twice this week if need-be. He is 1-7 in his last 8 starts vs. KC as well.
-
And I thought forsaking the Sox today and going to lunch with my mother would bring me some luck...so much for that. If it's possible, just looking at the final box-score hurts. I don't think I could feel any worse than if had listened to the game. Looks like we blew this one after apparently battling back. Nice line for Bobby...

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ May 9, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) I still can't believe that's Mark Kotsay's wife in your avatar. It's just a reminder that no matter how bad Mark Kotsay might suck...he's still better than me.

I can't believe this topic is still here...

So when are they going announce that they're skipping Freddy Tuesday? Danks and Buehrle against Mauer/Morneau and company sounds better to me that Freddy going out there Tuesday...
-
And that's a White Sox winner !!

Gavin needs to step it up tomorrow. We can't have a losing homestand. -
