  1. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:27 PM) He's 30, age of decline. Too expensive in terms of prospects. Sox don't need a CF. he's signed for only another year. And if people would look at numbers, and not reputation, they would see his OPS is a modest .761 this year...the decline may be under way. Too expensive in terms of prospects? How? How was that trade from the Mets expensive? How is him being signed for only 1 more year a problem?
  2. Did the Mets also forget they were trading a pitcher with a blown out elbow?
  3. He's been dealing with this issue for a while but it hasnt stopped him playing or having a decent year. I dont know what the Mets are doing
  4. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:17 PM) Just like AJ Yep exactly
  5. A non existent issue according to everyone else looks like. I want to say the Mets have done this before.
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:07 PM) Speed defense , some power and very affordable, signed through 2016. He's ideal. Just what we need. Also brings an edge that I kind of like. He's an asshole but an asshole you like if he's on your team.
  7. I'd give up Montas for him easy.
  8. Yeah that package wasnt really good for the Brewers when the rumors were the price was high. A pitcher coming off TJ surgery and Flores. That's not ground breaking. He's under control for next season too. Plus it sounds like Wheeler's medicals may have been part of the issue.
  9. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:42 PM) No IIRC it was same season. Edit: it was the same season in '09. Around May 21, Peavy veteod. Then, on the deadline at the last minute they got it done. Ah yeah that makes sense. Christ it was 2009? Time flies.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:37 PM) He's going to add AJP Are you being serious or sarcastic? I mentioned that earlier but people shot that down quick
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:34 PM) He had that done in May right and Peavy vetoed? I think that was the year before. But he tried for the second time and Peavy didnt veto that time. The second time is when he said nothing was going to happen.
  12. Why does everyone assume buying means emptying the farm or "selling out"? You can make a trade without giving up a boat load of prospects
  13. I think 1 bat and 1 pen guys is fine. If Carlos Gomez only costs what we just saw then we should definitely go after him. That was cheap.
  14. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:28 PM) Am I the only one who wants the sox to stand pat? One of the few probably. More than likely because it makes the least sense.
  15. Remember right before the deadline when Kenny said something probably wasnt going to happen?....then Peavy.
  16. Get us some help Hahn/Kenny. Lets do this thing.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:00 PM) Good thing this is our worst one Hey it's always a good idea to upgrade. Lots of relievers out there for trade more than likely.
  18. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:51 PM) If I were him, I'd rather go to Houston. Better future and frankly better present For sure. No idea what his issue is with Houston.
  19. QUOTE (woods of ypres @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) No Gallo? For shame, Amero. He just cleared out the top of the Rangers farm system. Yeah what a shame.
  20. For anybody wondering Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 49s50 seconds ago Preseason Baseball America rankings: RHP Jake Thompson No. 2 #Rangers prospect, C Jorge Alfaro No. 3, OF Nick Williams No. 5. All to PHI. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal
  21. That's gotta sting for the Astros
  22. That's a decent package for the Phillies. Lot of potential Alfaro and Williams.
