  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 12:58 PM) Don't worry, "yes" is getting 75% of the votes of course it is.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 12:54 PM) White Sox Talk ‏@CSNWhiteSox Jan 19 If the #WhiteSox don't sign Cespedes, is the offseason a disappointment? Nice poll Not at all. No one ever expected or thought we could sign Cespedes this offseason. Getting Frazier and Lawrie has been fantastic along with the C change. Id give it an B+ right now, with a solid A/A+ if Cespy signs.
  3. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 10:25 AM) Rosenthal, Nightengale, & now Mirosi. I don't see anywhere on Nightengale's twitter where he says the Nat's offer is the "strongest". Maybe im missing something
  4. Amazing how quick the mood on this board changes with a simple tweet from a national writer, who hasn't changed anything he has said. I tend to lean toward the inside-source information we're getting.
  5. I have to think that this is the Sox final push for Yo. I'll get less and less optimistic as time goes by. If it lasts till the weekend hes gone.
  6. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 05:36 PM) DAMN YANKEES......................................... I think Steinbrenner is bluffing what are you talking about?
  7. QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Jan 17, 2016 -> 05:14 PM) Regardless, Cespedes isn't taking a backloaded deal. Why exactly not? Deferred payments as well. Dollars are dollars. Myself and anyone here would be more than happy to get paid ~1-3 mil for 10 years when I wasnt working. If he's gonna sign for that much there is no difference.
  8. Lol..... that is an absolutely god awful contract. Have fun being irrelevant O's
  9. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 08:38 AM) My god no I couldn't agree more. No way I'm trading either for Inciarte. You would be crazy to.
  10. There is no chance Hahn gives up a pick for Fowler
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 2, 2016 -> 04:03 PM) I have been very surprised by this market. All summer what did we hear.? You can find pitching, hitting and power are hard to come by. This market was supposed to hurt pitchers, yet we have seen sky high prices for them, and the most lob sided trade for one in recent memory. Meanwhile, a great class of outfielders has no market. I have theories, but it's bizarre. I feel like teams have placed a much higher premium on pitching. Possibly, teams feel that they can home-grow their own hitting talent and use the FA market to bolster pitching, thus allocating the resources toward that. Also, many of the hitters on the FA market have an asking price vs actual value this year due to the fact that there aren't any Greinke or Price caliber hitters ala Harper/McCutch in 18. (Upton/Heyward/Cespy considered tier 1). Teams simply may not see it worth giving these specific players high contracts.
  12. If anything CBS Sports will take a hit. Heyman will still have his sources and whatnot, and will report on his own.
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 2, 2016 -> 01:52 PM) If more marching bands did what Stanford's did, I'd be much more interested in marching bands. this.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 1, 2016 -> 04:30 PM) Stanford, OSU and a 100% healthy ND all would have made for more compelling tv in the Final Four. How the hell did NW beat Stanford? McCaffrey already has 140 yards in about six minutes. Getting his Heisman denied moment in the sun. Is he related to Ed? Think they said he's Ed's son.
  15. Saw the movie today for the first time, loved SW growing up but have been busy so didnt get a chance to see it. My thoughts: -Similar to IV in plot, but Abrams did an AMAZING job making it its' own movie that it in no way felt like I was watching a reused IV. -I love the Rey storyline, and I have no idea whose daughter/nephew/cousin she is. -Gunfights and effects with impacts of bullets/sabers were outstanding. And there was blood! My one negative: Phasma's role was horrible, and really dumb.
  16. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 10:06 PM) I'm just saying you keep telling people not to read the stuff from non-verified people but have talked about it a lot, too. I think it's pretty clear that there is something here w/ Cespedes. If there isn't oh well, but at least it gives people something to talk about. Agree, its something to talk about. No reason for anyone to discount anything or anyone here, let's enjoy it and enjoy the conversation.
  17. hey i hope he's right. I'd take Latos and Cespedes in a second.
  18. I'm not going to get overly excited, but I love to see some of this coming out, no matter who it's coming from.
  19. I think Adams has a chance to make the jump to AA at some point judging by how well he did in his A+ stint last year.
  20. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) Important lawyers (those representing athletes) don't take Christmas vacations. edit- especially when their clients are in somewhat time sensitive negotiations for a new contract If I was making 5-10% on a soon-to-be 80+ million dollar contract, you'd better believe even if I were on vacation, my ass would be on the next flight home.
  21. Carrier pigeons delivering Gordon's offer are grounded due to the winter storm.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 27, 2015 -> 02:33 PM) So, going through the thread, essentially nothing has changed in 3 days but posters have decided the sox lost out on all three. Yep. This is what happens during the holidays when teams essentially go lights out with negotiations.
  23. QUOTE (bjm676 @ Dec 27, 2015 -> 11:39 AM) a real estate "expert" said this? It must be true then... real estate expert from KC.... maybe we should all tweet that Gordon accepted our offer.
