QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:07 AM) He'll be starting at SS. No chance we'll move him from the position where he excels defensively at. It's up to KW to find a 3b who can provide this team some offense. Unless that comes via a trade or Bill Mueller or even Joe Randa, that's gonna be quite hard indeed. Hank Blalock could possibly be an option.......

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:05 AM) I think it's safe to say that Uribe has won his spot for next season. Yep. The only question is whether he's starting at SS or 3B come April 2006.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:04 AM) Haha....don't forget Felix Diaz reincarnated. Oh ya, better bring out those Tee-Ball Pics to reminisce a little.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:02 AM) Who was that pitcher we called up earlier in the year who didn't throw a change-up? Was it Brendan McCarthur? Formerly Nicknamed 5 Home Runs at the Cell.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:02 AM) All 3 strikes to Nixon were on change-ups. Yep, that pitch has been a revelation today.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 03:51 AM) 1. Miami 2. Cleveland 3. San Francisco 4. Detroit 5. Tennessee 6. Washington 7. Tampa Bay 8. Green Bay 9. New Orleans (not saying they have more talent just saving they will have a better year) 10. New York Giants 11. Detroit 12. Houston You said Detroit twice. Anyways I think Houston, Detroit, the Giants, and the Bucs will be better than the Bears this year but that's JMHO. New Orleans no-one knows how they are going to respond.

QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 03:51 AM) All he does is hit homers. MVP is Iguchi, by far. And yet Iguchi would have a worse OBP, OPS and K/BB ratio to Konerko.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 03:46 AM) Yime to unload on Schilling here. Bingo.
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 03:45 AM) Meh, let them think that. I know you hate the Bears very strongly so I am talking to the wrong person, but the Bears WILL be a top 20 team. Haha. Anyways on those rankings, how do the Cowboys go down 7 places after a 3-1 pre-season and after they signed Price? Oh and Willie, what teams do you see the Bears being ahead of if they're going to be a top 20?

Here we go folks, ESPN rankings, Bears 29th; http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking...son=2005&week=1

Joe Theismann has picked the Redskins to win the NFC. That would almost have to be the stupidest thing I've heard all year.

QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 03:35 AM) hooray for juan uribe not looking like a little leaguer at the plate He's 7 for 12 now this month.

Well we got to Schilling eventually. Let's hope Brandon can keep doing what he's been doing.

QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 03:04 AM) I agree. Im really starting to doubt Podsedniks value. 55 stolen bases is great but it only means anything if those SBs translate into runs. Podsednik has only scored 68 runs, which over 162 games turns into 105 runs. El Caballo could have done that. Carl Crawford and all the other bigtime base stealers have lots of runs scored. And some of those guys actually manage to have atleast a small bit of power! Im not looking for 30 homeruns from Pods, but Crawford has 13 homers, 72 RBIs, 39 SBs and a higher BA than Pods. Chone Figgins has 6 homers, 46 RBIs and a higher BA. Pods is not as great as we make him out to be. Could that be because of the guys behind him perhaps?

Damn is he lookin good or what. We've got something here folks.

The NESN broadcasters just thought B-Mac's change looked like a screwball.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 02:56 AM) He does it all the time. He comes so close to getting picked off on just routine moves over to 1b. However, before we all freak out too much, I don't think that move will be that important in the outcome of this game. Oh yeah I know, still heaps of time left, I just don't see the need for a great lead with 1 out when you've got runners at the corners. At least give the hitter a chance to get a sac fly.
-
Why would you even bother leading off the base so much?
