  1. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) I personally kind of doubt it with a Tedford QB. But ya, the Bills...man, am I looking forward to this year. Could be a big one in the right direction. And then Jason Peters caught a touchdown pass...the same Jason Peters that weighs 328 pounds...w00t And the Bills D looks as good as ever. Losman did what he has to do all season long, just manage the game, don't have to win it. 8 different targets caught passes for him as well today. But I really expected more out of the Texans today. They have to start winning soon, otherwise Don Capers might go on the hot seat.
  2. Here's my team, feel I had the best draft out of anybody but we'll see; C: Morrison C: Ruutu LW: Naslund LW: Tkachuk RW: Heatley RW: Mogilny F: Nagy F: Crosby D: Gonchar D: Pronger D: Redden D: Morris BN: Selanne BN: Allison BN: Frolov G: Kiprusoff G: DiPietro BN: Roloson
  3. Dallas beat San Diego 28-24. Drew Bledsoe looked good today passing for 3TD's, while Patrick Crayton got 6 receptions. Thinks are looking good.
  4. Pretty much says Contreras or El Duque to be possibly used in a Lyle Overbay deal, IF, Paul Konerko leaves this off-season. But give me Chad Tracy instead, since yesterday I read an article were Bob Melvin said they were thinking about scenarios with him in the off-season.
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) I really don't think Portis is going to do much today. My only other option is Marshall Faulk. I'm starting Cadillac for sure, and leaning towards Ruudy, but should I consider starting Portis/Faulk? BTW -- need some WR help. Need to start two of the following... Andre Johnson vs. BUF Steve Smith vs. NO P Burress vs. ARI Stokely vs. BAL Ma Jones vs. SEA How good is Seattle's defense? Should I consider starting Leftwich? I'd still start Portis. Yeah the Bears D is top 5, but Portis has had previous success against them, and he's always a threat to break out a long one. As for your receivers, I'd start Smith and Burress. Johnson will have Clements locking down on him all day long. Seattle's D is pretty good probably around top 10, although losing Okafor and Lucas hurt. I'd probably start Leftwich, he's always good for around 300 yards, 2TD's.
  6. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 02:11 AM) I've decided not to start Portis is fantasy this week. I dunno, I just think that the 'Skins offense is pretty one dimensional. So, I'm going with the Cadilac and Ruuuuudy. Go Bears! I'll only see the first quarter, as I have tix to the Sox game, but hopefully the defense can carry the team. Don't start Rudi, he's been benched;
  7. Ben Graham starts his 1st regular season game punting for the New York Jets today. He used to play for my favorite Aussie Footy Team, and he can flat out boom it with his leg, I'm talking over 60+ yards here if he gets onto em. He'll be the oldest rookie in HISTORY in the league.

    Remembering 9/11

    QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) It's crazy to think it's already been 4 years. ^^^. It's gone so fast since then for sure.
  9. Lackey's probably pitched a bit above himself so far this season to date. Really need a victory here, and for El Duque to provide some quality innings.
  10. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) Actually, I don't know why it hasn't been tried yet this year. Probably just because of what he's done in there, and how important it is to have a good hitter behind Scotty. But looking at his K's, and the way he's swung the bat when he's made contact this season, I've got no doubts he'll really produce if we give him the chance in the #3 spot for next season.
  11. Just because we hit a bad stretch and we're not performing that way we'd like to against other playoff teams, doesn't mean we're going to go 3 and out come October. Anything can happen once you get there. KW built this team for the playoffs, with good pitching, speed and being able to score 3 to 5 runs a game instead of 10 one game and 0 and 1 the next two. Call me an optimist, but my position has never changed from the start since the Sox were winning and were nicely out on top in the division. We can still win the whole damn thing. And what's the point in losing? It's not like we're down the bottom so we can get the best draft pick which is hardly beneficial anyways. You play every game to win. Bottom line.
  12. For next season, which shows the main aim this off-season for this lineup is to get a #2 hitter, unless someone like Aaron Rowand can fill the void; http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/co...ia/x11-ard1.htm

    Remembering 9/11

    My parents are in New York over the weekend at the moment. Talking briefly to them yesterday, they went and saw the site of Ground Zero and said it was truly a sight to see. As for that day, well it happened about 10:30PM down here and I remember watching it on the TV in my room just in shock.
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 12:14 AM) He also took the only contract that was offered post surgery. And it is nice to know that so many people here would never leave the company they are working for to make more money elsewhere. Wanting to gte paid as well as other people for doing the same job would never enter anyone's minds here. LMAO And 29 other MLB owners are still laughing at Mike Illitch for it.

  16. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) Bears - Skins -- The Redskins Offense doesnt bring anymore to the table than the vomit-inducing attack the Bears showcase week after week. It will come to Turnovers. Whoever wins that TO ratio in this game is going to win. Thats it. Bears -- 17 Skins -- 10 Cowboys - Bolts -- Dont be so confident Glenn, Henry and Company can handle SD's passing attack. Samie Parker, Vincent Jackson are both TERRIFIC athletes who will create very nasty mismatches. Not to mention Shawne Merriman and Steve Foley sandwiching poor Bledsoe on at least 5 plays. Final Score : San Diego -- 38 Dallas -- 10 Vincent Jackson. He of the 0 catches with being a rookie that most people thought was a real reach in the 2nd? And I assume you mean ERIC Parker, not Samie. 47 recpetions last year is not bad, but I'll tkae my chances with Johnson / Glenn / Price over McCardell / Caldwell / Parker. Merriman's iffy to play, but DeMarcus Ware looks like the better pick so far. Of course pass protection for Bledsoe is going to be huge, but they'll keep a fullback or TE in there like Dan Campbell to help out, and that's why they signed Marco Rivera this past off-season. And Jason Witten will probably have a real good game too.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) OF COURSE YOU DO Now c'mon Willie, I know you really want me to lose that bet but c'mon.
  18. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) No Det or KC in playoffs Didn't know we actually beat any other teams than those 2 this season then.........
  19. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) Go Cowboys!!!!! I'll go On Topic and Off Topic on this one; On Topic - Should be a real low scoring game b/w these two. Which ever team can reach double figures will probably be able to win the game. I just think Washington's offense has had a year under Gibbs, Ramsey is a lot better QB than people (including Gibbs himself) gives him credit for, and if they allow Portis to run more of those cut - backs, they'll be more dangerous. So I went for the home team. Off Topic - Really think Dallas can cause an upset here. San Diego won't have Gates, their main receiver, and Caldwell and McCardell aren't going to give Newman, Henry and Glenn too many issues I'd suspect. Shawn Merriman probably won't play either, and he'll be their main pass rusher which would be huge against Bledsoe. If the Dallas O-Line (Rob Pettiti has to step up at RT) can give Drew enough time, and Drew has to make the smart choice, I suspect the Boys can pull out a win here.

    Baj?

    QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) Better Sanders than Walker or Adkins any day of the week. Baj looked real nice out there. Maybe we should use him more for the stretch run. Than those two, yes. Better than Munoz or Diaz? No.

    Baj?

    QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) Colonel Sanders needs to pack up the wagon and head the hell out of town. That wagon should be right behind Kevin Walker's mode of transportation as we speak.
  22. DBAHO

    Baj?

    Better than David Sanders.
  23. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) Yay Carl is not hitting 3. Carl - worst 3 hitter in baseball. If Rowand can get it going in the #3 spot, it's a double win. Everett's a lot better in the 5 spot.
