  1. BEGOOD now Steve, there's no need for accusations like that.
  2. Hopefully he won't sign with a team based on money e.g Tom Glavine and Ivan Rodriguez. I agree YASNY, he's still a crafty veteran who can easily win 15 games in a season in the rite environment.
  3. He's a rich idiot then. Notice how he's only done previews from the AL EAST and the NL EAST so far.

    WHOOO

Yellowcard r a great band, should be a really good concert there Jason. I'm seein Blink 182 and Brand New down here next month, so that should be good too.
  5. They need a 3rd baseman badly. I can't see Ol' Steiny settlin for a platoon of Mike Lamb and Tyler Houston at 3rd all season. Juan Rivera and a prospect or 2 could get that deal done, if the Dodgers are out of contention.
  6. They are finished unless Manny Legace can become their saviour in goals. I see the Hawks hav won 3 out of their last 4 too.
  7. Santana is very injury prone and that's always gonna be a worry with him, I can see why da Twinkies only gave him a 1 year deal.
  8. The one thing I really like bout Honel is his BB/K ratio. He's got really good control, and hopefully he can pitch in the low 90's again. He could become a very marketable asset for the White Sox if he continues to pitch well.
  9. Cleveland could and prob will suprise a lot of ppl this year. There's a lot of IF's with that team, but there's a lot of potential as well. Guys like Milton Bradley, Jody Gerut etc. will be more comfortable this year and if Sabathia can pitch well and lead from da front, they should win at least 70 games.
  10. Looks like he mite hav gone AWOL durin da Vietnam War too, Bush arms himself with service record By Roy Eccleston, Washington February 12, 2004 FACING an election battle against a war hero, US President George W. Bush has distributed pay records from his time in the Texas Air National Guard to try to kill off claims he was absent without leave during the Vietnam War. But the records, which the White House says were unearthed only this week, have not cleared up allegations by Democrats that Mr Bush - a fighter pilot - failed to show up for duty for long periods. The documents say Mr Bush received pay for service during the 1972-74 period, accumulating enough points from duties to be entitled to an honorable discharge when he left the military. But they also show the then lieutenant Bush received no pay at all for about six months of 1972, during which he had transferred to Alabama to work on a Senate political campaign. The issue was raised in the 2000 election, but has blown up again because Massachusetts senator John Kerry - who looks certain to be the Democratic presidential candidate - volunteered to go to Vietnam and won several medals for bravery. Senator Kerry declined to comment yesterday, after previously likening Mr Bush's service in the National Guard to others who refused to serve in Vietnam. The Air National Guard's website admits it acquired a reputation "as draft havens for relatively affluent young white men". But White House spokesman Scott McClellan rejected the criticisms. "These records I'm holding here clearly document the President fulfilling his duties in the National Guard," he said. "The President was proud of his service. The President recalls serving both when he was in Texas and when he was in Alabama." But he said the White House had been unable to find anyone who could remember serving with a man who later became the US President. "I mean, obviously, we would have made people available," he said. In contrast, Senator Kerry has campaigned with his comrades-in-arms, including a Green Beret whose life he saved. Mr McClellan said the new information came from the US military's personnel centres in St Louis and Colorado state, which had begun to pull the information together after Mr Bush said at the weekend that he would agree to his pay records being made public. The documents showed that accusations Mr Bush was a "deserter" or "AWOL" were "outrageous and baseless", Mr McClellan said.
  11. I can see u certainly made his day. Best prank yet easily so far.
  12. Me thinks I'll hav to order a DBAHey jersey when I'm back next week. Of course I think the "Sell Gage Sell" will do very well indeed.
  13. I thought that was goin to be BBQ'd bf I realized it was a keyboard. :puke
  14. Also a look at Kris Honel, There is life after the Chicago winter. Just look at Kris Honel. Like Mark Mulder before him, Honel is proof that good things can come from the gyms and indoor batting cages where high school baseball players are forced to train in the Midwest. He'll spend most of his time this spring on the back fields at the White Sox complex but soon enough will take his place alongside those competing for a spot in the starting rotation. Honel, a graduate of Providence in New Lenox, was the Sox's first-round pick in the 2001 draft. He was the 16th player taken overall, the highest an Illinois high school pitcher has been taken since Aurora Central Catholic's Bob Kipper was selected with the eighth pick in 1982. Honel helped Class-A Winston-Salem to a Carolina League title in 2003 and is likely to open this season at Double-A Birmingham. But as the White Sox try to fill the last one or two spots in their starting rotation, rest assured the potential of prospects like Honel and Ryan Wing will keep them in the conversation. Last year: 86-76, 2nd. Manager: Ozzie Guillen. Key addition: RHP Shingo Takatsu. Key losses: RHP Bartolo Colon, CF Carl Everett, 2B Roberto Alomar, RHP Tom Gordon, RHP Scott Sullivan. Lesser moves: Added SS Juan Uribe, RHP Cliff Politte, RHP Jason Grilli, RHP Robert Person, RHP Jose Santiago, LHP Vic Darensbourg, RHP Mike Jackson, OF Marvin Benard, INF Bobby Smith, INF Kelly Dransfeldt, INF Mike Bell; lost 2B Aaron Miles, INF Tony Graffanino. Big question: Can enthusiasm replace experience? Guillen was hired to replace Jerry Manuel even though he never had managed a game at any level. He will keep things lively in an environment that often seemed stale under Manuel but he has much to learn, especially in handling a pitching staff. He should get plenty of help from dugout coach Joe Nossek and pitching coach Don Cooper. Keep an eye on: Second baseman Willie Harris. He has hit .213 in 137 big-league games, but general manager Ken Williams traded Miles, who figured to be his competition for a starting spot. Harris could wind up platooning with the right-handed-hitting Uribe, but there's little Williams would love more than for Harris to justify the faith he has shown in him. Putting more heat on Harris, it's likely that Guillen will try him in the leadoff spot. The main event: There's a battle for jobs on the pitching staff. Mark Buehrle, Esteban Loaiza, Jon Garland, Billy Koch, Damaso Marte, Kelly Wunsch, Politte and Takatsu are assured of jobs. That leaves Scott Schoeneweis, Dan Wright, Neal Cotts, John Rauch, Felix Diaz, Enemencio Pacheco and Person competing for the last two spots in the rotation. Bullpen candidates include Grilli, Darensbourg, Jackson, Santiago, Jon Adkins, Matt Ginter, Gary Majewski, David Sanders, Arnie Munoz, Ryan Kohlmeier, Carlos Castillo and Ryan Meaux.
  15. It's bad enough that she still brags about it. Hopefully 1 day she'll get what's comin to her, although hopefully not in da matta of what she did.
  16. Gees I don't think I'm goin to be able to top that.

  18. Well u know he did go bankrupt recently, mayb for once he bit off more than he could chew.
  19. Hmmm I wonder if DePodesta prob becomin da Dodgers new GM will affect da Maddux situation. I doubt it lookin at the A's rotation, but I think he will not want to deal Miller and Jackson, and hope that they r da 2nd coming of Zito and Hudson.
  20. Hopefully Honel has a really big year down at Birmingham like Cotts did, although we shouldn't expect him in Chicago by late 2005 at the earliest. He didn't really dominate down at Winston - Salem goin 9-7, but I really liked his 42BB / 122 SO ratio. If he can start throwin back in da 90's, he can easily be one of our top 2 or 3 starters in da future.
  21. Looks like Michelle Wie is missing one of her ears there Bones.
  22. Sum ppl especially Chicago natives won't be happy in dealin Honel and I don't think he'll get dealt. He'll help sell tickets when he's up in da big leagues hopefully, although if we could get Perez or Mota and Jackson or Miller for Thomas straight up, we gotta do that deal.
  23. Can I get a Ming Burger with extra cheese? The signs outside its restaurants read "Billions and Billions Served," so perhaps it was only a matter of time before officials with the world's leading fast-food company signed the NBA star from the world's most populous nation. Six weeks after McDonald's elected not to re-sign Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant as its endorser, the fast-food giant is on the cusp of signing Houston Rockets center Yao Ming, sources told ESPN.com. Walt Reiker, McDonald's vice president of corporate communications, would not confirm the deal but said there would be an announcement Thursday in Los Angeles regarding the company's "I'm Loving It" campaign. Officials with Team Yao, the marketing group representing the star, declined comment. Yao will be in Los Angeles this weekend -- and could be there as early as Thursday -- as he makes his second consecutive start in Sunday's NBA All-Star Game at Staples Center. The Rockets played their last game before the All-Star break Wednesday night in Houston. Signing the 7-5 Yao would enable McDonald's not only to capitalize on his growing popularity among NBA fans in the U.S., but to the 1.3 billion people in his homeland of China. A potential 300 million people in China have access to his NBA games on television. With averages of 16.3 points and nine rebounds a game, Yao edged Lakers star Shaquille O'Neal -- who's averaging 20.7 points and 11 rebounds -- in fan balloting to start the All-Star game. Yao received nearly 1.5 million votes, eighth among all All-Star vote-getters. Since opening its first restaurant in China in 1990, McDonald's now has more than 560 restaurants in the country in approximately 70 cities and, according to published reports, plans on opening about 100 more franchises in 2004. The stores in China make up less than 2 percent of the total number of McDonald's restaurants in the world. If the deal is consummated, it is believed that Yao would only trail LeBron James in off-the-court income. Including bonuses and royalties, the Cleveland Cavaliers rookie likely will make more than $25 million in off-the-court income this season. Yao could earn at least half that total. Since being selected as the No. 1 pick in the 2002 NBA Draft, Yao has signed endorsement deals with Upper Deck trading cards and China Unicom, a leading cell phone company. He also has appeared in national commercials for Gatorade, Visa and Apple. Though he speaks little English in the spots, Yao has proven likable in the humorous plots written for him. In the Visa check card commercial, the salespeople in a New York souvenir shop are saying "Yo" to Yao, who misunderstands what is being said and tries to correct the pronunciation of his name. In Apple's Powerbook G4 ad, Yao looks in envy at Verne Troyer -- Mini-Me in the Austin Powers movies -- who is sitting next to him on a plane flight with a larger version of the company's notebook computer. Yao, who was recently named as China's most popular celebrity by Forbes magazine, also will earn money on entertainment deals, including an upcoming documentary by Endgame Productions and a book written by ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher and published by Miramax. In October, Yao signed an endorsement deal with Reebok, after his deal with Nike -- which carried over from his playing days in China with the Shanghai Sharks -- expired. His signature shoes and apparel are expected to be released worldwide in the fall. McDonald's, which is a sponsor of the Rockets, has been an NBA sponsor since 1990. In the past, it has used Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Bryant to pitch their burgers and fries. Bryant's three-year deal with the company expired on Dec. 31 and the company did not renew him -- his pending sexual assault case believed to be a factor in the decision. Due to the court proceedings, Bryant's signature Nike shoe -- which was due out this week -- has been temporarily shelved. International business in China is expected to pick up with the Summer Olympics in Beijing a little more than four years away. McDonald's has been an official sponsor of the Olympics since 1998 in Nagano, Japan, and the company is expected to continue its sponsorship through the 2008 Olympics, though no deal has been consummated. Due in part to Yao's presence, NBA commissioner David Stern announced in October the league's intention to open a marketing office in Shanghai in the near future.
  24. Show's gone downhill in da last few years, so long as it's got Duffman and his Ferris Buerhler music, I'll be happy.
  25. If Williams is off da board, they'll trade down. For now, I think they pull a suprise and pick Troupe, to giv Leftwich anotha weapon. Their D-Line is easily in da top 5 in the NFL.
