Easily the funniest show on Television, just for watchin J.D and Dr. Cox. Both r great actors and the show deserves WAY more credit, well down here anyways, where it's been bumped to a 10:30 p.m timeslot in it's second season.
  3. And a Frank Article, TUCSON, Ariz. -- Frank Thomas arrived at White Sox training camp late Tuesday and basically wondered what all the fuss is about. "I don't know where all this stuff is coming from about me being disgruntled and upset," the Sox slugger said. "I don't understand it." Amid speculation Thomas was upset over critical comments new manager Ozzie Guillen made when his hiring was announced in November and that perhaps he would not report Wednesday with the rest of the position players, Thomas arrived a day early. Thomas said he told his former teammate there wasn't any problem between them. "He knows that," Thomas said. "I played with Ozzie for eight years. I know what to expect from Ozzie. There is already a different rapport with Ozzie and me than with Jerry Manuel because I didn't know where Jerry Manuel was coming from at times. We just didn't know each other. It's different now." Rumors of discord were fueled when Thomas didn't talk to the media or Sox management during the off-season. But Thomas said he felt he earned the right to disappear during the winter. "I dealt with the media all year long, more than anyone in the clubhouse," he said. "When I get away, I like to get away." Thomas said it was inaccurate to report he didn't have any contact with general manager Ken Williams. He didn't, directly, but he said his agent, Arn Tellem, kept in touch with the team. Thomas said early in the off-season, he and Williams had a "long, deep conversation and some of it wasn't pleasant, I'll be honest" regarding Thomas' free-agent opportunities. After that, Tellem decided to do the talking for Thomas. "The speculation was that I was going to leave for free agency after coming off a big year," Thomas said of his 42-home run, 105-RBI campaign. "There were offers out there, but why make a change if it wasn't something I needed or wanted? I'm happy here, we have a good nucleus of guys that we can win with, and that's important." Thomas said things are fine between him and Williams, although he said Williams was a little upset when the two spoke Tuesday about the lack of direct communication over the winter. "Kenny and I had a long talk," Thomas said. "I've never really spoken to the front office in the off-season and I don't know why all of a sudden it's a big thing." Thomas also brushed aside the trade rumors that have him going to Los Angeles. "Anything can happen," he said. "I wasn't fazed by it. If it happened, it happened." Williams said he was surprised when he saw Thomas on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, he said he wasn't sure what kind of mood Thomas would be in when he arrived, but he didn't seem overly concerned by it. "Once you have been through something it makes it easier to go through it again and again and again," Williams said. At least for now, there doesn't seem to be any issues to deal with as far as Thomas is concerned. Thomas said Guillen's comments about him in November didn't bother him. "What he was trying to do was let people know this is his team now and he's coming in to take over and on the first day to let everyone know, 'I don't care who you are on this team, I'm the manager now,' and that's fine," he said. "I have no problem with that. He wasn't trying to get under my skin." Thomas said it is kind of strange Guillen is his manager. "I just got through playing with him," he said. "I was happy he won a World Series ring with the Marlins. I didn't know how prepared he would be as a manager, but he has his stuff together." Thomas speculated people are so concerned about his moods because "I'm easily needled at times, but I've changed over the years." Thomas has had to deal with issues on and off the field the past couple of seasons and now, at 35, he appears to be taking the life's-too-short-to-worry approach. "I had so much adversity going on in my life that if you don't change and enjoy what you're doing, why be here?" he said. "It's a situation now where I want to be here and I'm enjoying myself and I'm happy to come to spring training and help this team win." Thomas also sees the beginning of the end of a career that could land him in the Hall of Fame. "I realized that I turned that corner," he said. "I'm looking at the downside now, maybe five years left and I'm going to give everything I have for those last five years. I'm still capable of playing at a high level." During SoxFest in January, Thomas received the support of fans who think Guillen and Williams should just let Thomas alone. "They've been with me through my ups and downs," he said of Sox fans. "I've had a lot of ups and a lot of downs. They've been hard on me at times and that's fine. I've weathered those storms and came back and shown them what I'm all about." Thomas said the Sox's off-season personnel losses, especially starting pitcher Bartolo Colon, hurt. But after 14 seasons, he is used to roster changes from year to year. "We have to move on," he said. "I've been dealing with patchwork situations with this organization for 12 of the 14 years I've been here. We've always made changes and we have to make the best of it." The biggest change may be in the one player who has been the lone constant.
  4. From da Trib, TUCSON, Ariz. -- Until late Tuesday afternoon, the biggest news out of White Sox camp was the arrival of Magglio Ordonez. But, as has been the case for most of his career, Ordonez was overshadowed by Frank Thomas. While many wonder whether Thomas, who arrived a day early, will be a distraction this spring or this season, it may be Ordonez's situation that turns into the bigger soap opera. Ordonez will be a free agent after this season, for which he will make $14 million. Ordonez's unsettled situation—he could be traded by the July deadline—will be a season-long subject, one he doesn't look forward to discussing. "We're here to play baseball," he said. "When it's time to talk about contracts it's kind of different. People get mad. I just want to play baseball and that's it." It's not that easy though. "Every time something is going on [the media] is going to ask Magglio about his contract," Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said. "Obviously whatever happens, the contract is going to come up all year long." Ordonez was also one of the players involved in the Alex Rodriguez-Boston Red Sox trade fiasco. If the deal had been completed, Ordonez would have gone to Boston for Nomar Garciaparra. Ordonez followed that story from his native Venezuela. "I was relaxing and waiting for something, but nothing happened," he said. Ordonez said he would like to remain in Chicago, where he has spent his entire career. The situation has Sox general manager Ken Williams between a rock and a hard place. If Ordonez wants to stay, he may be willing to accept a "home team" discount. But he seems intent to look at his options in the winter. So do the Sox keep Ordonez all season and risk not being able to sign him, or move him during the season? A lot may depend on where the Sox are in the standings come July. "There is a desire on his part, obviously in his statements, to want to stay," Williams said. "There is always a desire on our part to keep our best players. So we'll see how it goes." Ordonez doesn't want to get bogged down in contract talks, preferring to leave that to his agent, Tom Reich. "People are going to think you are here for the money and I don't want to talk about money," Ordonez said. "I just want to play baseball."
  5. As long as he's still playin Baseball, we can ALWAYS accuse Sammy of using steroids. He mite appreciate a non - cork joke for once.
  6. Depends on when Aboz56 is back. I know he said he was goin to take da weekend of, so he should be back soon.
  7. If any1 wants to be in a 5th league, I'll be da commish of that if ya want.
  8. I think he's da best DT, but I dunno if da 49ers want a real big DT like him, rather than a pass rushing DT like Starks. It'll be interestin to see what they do if they can't get a WR. I really think Rivers could be a possibility here if they cut Jeff Garcia.

  10. Yeah I've heard that Buffalo are the favourites to trade for Henson now, but I still got a feeling, Parcells is gonna suprise ppl and make a trade for him since Ramsey and Brunell are off the market. He could sign Fiedler as a backup QB to Quincy though. It'll be interestin to see what they do with Drew Bledsoe if they trade for Henson, I think he's due a $6 million roster bonus sumtime soon.
  11. Spring Training has gone very well so far. Nice to see Maggs come a day early as well, showin his loyalty as well, mayb there's still a chance he can be resigned long - term. Also Willie Harris comin a week early, showed me he is willin to work very hard to become da leadoff guy, and I'm sure Ozzie will do all he can to turn him into Chicago's version of Juan Pierre.
  12. Couldn't he hav used sumthin more harder than a Dictionary to shut her up. Terry Tate tackling her would do a betta job.
  13. Oops, my bad. Sorry these early wake-ups for Uni aren't helpin me much.
  14. Now if only we could trade Igor Korolev The Blackhawks acquired forward Jason Morgan and a conditional draft pick from Calgary on Tuesday in a deal that sent forward Ville Nieminen to the Flames. Nieminen, signed as a free agent from Pittsburgh in July 2003, had two goals and 11 assists for the Blackhawks this season. Morgan has six goals and 13 assists in 21 games for Lowell in the American Hockey League. He also had two assists in 13 games with Calgary this season. Also, the Blackhawks recalled forward Matt Keith from Norfolk of the AHL and claimed winger Eric Nickulas off waivers from St. Louis. Keith was Chicago's second-round draft pick in the 2001 draft. He had 12 goals and 13 assists with Norfolk. Nickulas had seven goals and 11 assists for St. Louis this season.
  15. Keyshawn for Da Boys. Well we need a big possesion WR, so I'm happy with this, if Keyshawn is ridden by Parcells to bring out the best in himself.

  19. Yeah I'll continue to the end of the 1st round if ya want, then we'll see what happens afta that. Hav a nice break Cheat. I think u've earned it makin all those sigs.
  20. Draft News, From Hacksaw Hamilton (AM 690): - Maurice Clarett came off as "very immature" in interviews with two teams - the Patriots and the Cowboys. I heard that his stock is now falling hard. - WR Mike Williams of USC is being advised to stay another year in school because it is said that his 40 time is just 4.65. He's being projected somewhere between 10-15 overall. If he stays another year, wins the Heisman, and USC wins another National Championship, he might be considered #1 overall for the 2005 draft. - Robert Gallery ran a 4.91 on his 40 yard dash and benched 31 reps. Ideally, he should go either first overall to the Chargers or 2nd to the Raiders. - Cardinals offered the Bengals a 3rd rd. pick for RB Corey Dillon.
  21. From the Sun Times, TUCSON, Ariz. -- After a 1-7 season in 2003, Dan Wright certainly is not surprised at being somewhat of a forgotten man this spring. The Sox are claiming no favorites for their open No. 5 spot in the starting rotation, despite the fact Wright has 60 major-league starts and went 14-12 in 2002. "After having the year I had last year, I wouldn't expect anything else,'' said Wright, who had a 6.15 ERA in 861/3 innings. Wright will be fighting it out with Josh Stewart, Neal Cotts, Jon Rauch, Felix Diaz, Enemencio Pacheco and Jason Grilli. Nobody has an advantage. "Everybody knows that it's wide open,'' pitching coach Don Cooper said. "If somebody jumps up, it can be had. If there is a favorite guy, if he just does pretty good, he should get it, right? And pretty good is not what we're looking for. We're looking for a guy that we feel comfortable with.'' So far, Wright is having a much better spring than in 2003, when he was bothered by a sore right elbow. He eventually went on the disabled list for more than a month with elbow inflammation and didn't return to the Sox until May 9. His luck didn't get any better as he went 0-7 as a starter, leaving with the game tied in six consecutive starts at one point. His only victory came in relief, making him one of four American League pitchers without a victory in at least seven starts (Tampa Bay's Jason Standridge and Steve Parris and Toronto's Pete Walker were the others). After minor arthroscopic surgery early in the offseason to clean up his right knee, Wright feels ready to go. "Like Ozzie [Guillen] said in his opening speech, everything you have done in the past is wiped away, good or bad,'' Wright said. "We're just going from Day 1 and trying to pick the best team to help them win this year.'' MORE THOMAS: Guillen expects Frank Thomas to report on time Wednesday, saying: "I can't wait for Frank to get here because he will see all the guys in here and the way we are right now and all the fun we are having and the workout that we do, and hopefully he likes the way we are going to treat him. We will treat him the way he deserves.'' While the Sox have scheduled position players to report Wednesday, Major League Baseball rules state that players have until March 2 to report to camp. SOX VS. SOX: The first two intrasquad games of the spring are set for March 1 and 2. The Sox also will have B games on March 6 and 15 in an effort to get as many starts as possible for the candidates vying for the No. 5 spot.
  22. I just randomly picked sum1 otha than myself. Plus u'll need all da help u can get to beat me this year.
  23. It will hurt no doubt, but the O's had a glut of young infielders in Brian Roberts etc. who were ready to play for the O's. Prob why Willie got traded.
  24. Exactly, just look at guys like Eric Karros and Fred McGriff. Sure Thomas may hav another excellent year this year, but if we can get a stud pitching prospect who could start for us for at least 10 years, and a great young first baseman prospect to help fill Frank's shoes one day, I think KW should make that deal. Thomas afta this year scares me a lot, I don't think he can keep producing.
