  1. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 08:56 AM) I heard it all this morning from cubs fans at work. Not worried if they win this series because they never thought they would be there, next year will be a cake walk, and lackey will be in a cub uniform in 2016. I don't get these people at all. Why Lackey, though? I'm pretty sure it will be David Price in a Cubs uniform.
  2. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) Making money off Cubs hating? Sox would make plenty of money. Just look at the attention Sox fan pay to the Cubs. The Cubs thread in Diamond Club is the perfect example. Hell, the Cardinals vs. Cubs thread has more pages than the rest combined. Cub fans tax money have now and in the past been used to support the White Sox organization. Every Chicagoan's taxes support the local sports team, regardless of loyalty. This is why the White Sox can't advertise "anti-Cub"
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 08:58 PM) 6-3 mets. Ugh, the Mets fans are almost as bad as the Cardinal fans. The National League is just so hatable.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 08:53 PM) The $300 million team has 2 starting pitchers they can trust. They don't though, right? I thought Kershaw was bad last postseason.
  5. QUOTE (BamaDoc @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 12:29 PM) I have a slightly different take. I think this is in part a unintended consequence of replay. In the past, umpires allowed the phantom touching of second on double plays in part to protect the infielders. With replay the phantom is dead. This puts more infielders in harms way than before so the odds of this happening increase. It is old school to bust up the dp anyway you can and I am not advocating hurting a player at all. They will change the rule this off season because owners don't want millionaires/assets getting hurt just like the Posey rule. You may be right, but the fact is, that's a dirty play. I get what you're saying, but the issue isn't that Utley was out, it was that he essentially Mortal Kombatted a guy out of the post season.
  6. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 04:50 PM) There are definitely more games missed because of head-related injuries than five years ago with the League's new concussion protocols. As far as other injuries, who knows? I am sure there is a study out there. I would be shocked if ACL tears weren't up over the last five seasons. Most experts seem to attribute the injuries to the lack of padded practices in the preseason.
  7. QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) You respect him for tolerating a culture of losing? No I respect these and this But he's lost me with the way he's running the Sox as of late.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 08:40 PM) True but this was not the Jake gem cubs fans promised. Cards do or die tue. This just doesn't look like the every year Cardinals. Not sure how they won that many games.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 08:37 PM) 8-6! Two outs. Everyone knew that didn't matter. A bases clearing home run with two outs is kind of a buzz kill honestly.
  10. QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 08:34 PM) What has Reinsdorf done? He has tolerated a culture of losing for too long. Williams still has an office in the building.
  11. That guy with the Marlins jersey...what?
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 08:25 PM) The Sox are never going to go over bonus level for IFA Not until Reinsdorf dies and the team is sold. I'm convinced that's what the team needs to build a perennial winner, which breaks my heart because I have so much respect for what Reinsdorf has done.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 08:18 PM) That cub fans are douche bags? Cubs fans are douches and the Sox suck
  14. That is so gone.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 08:18 PM) Two Oh right, I didn't count the douche part.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 08:15 PM) My cub friends are douche bags with the texts I'm getting tonight. It's over, champagne is chilling, and my favorite, sox suck. Only one of those statements is true.
  17. That's another Cubs rookie. Oh my god.
  18. I made a comment earlier about the BS Cubs fans, but honestly, the Cardinals fans are almost as bad. Taking the north/south side bias out, the Cardinals are the worst fans in baseball.
  19. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 04:38 PM) And I'd be happy for her if they won it, it's just too bad all the jackasses ruin it. This is my problem with the Cubs, too. The frat boys are obnoxious, but I admire what that organization has done for an otherwise undeserving fanbase of bros who wait in line for the stalls at the Wrigley bathrooms.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 03:57 PM) Obama? If it's Jesus Christ, I will be SUPER impressed.
  21. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 10:56 PM) I'm going to come out and say it, but if you claim to be a true Sox fan and are cheering for the Cubs this postseason then you are a f***ing idiot. Our beloved franchise has always been the ugly step-child of the Chicago sports scene and a Cubs World Series victory would make us even more irreverent. Go ahead and come up with some lame excuse on why it's ok to cheer for them, but you are literally rooting against the well-being of your own franchise. There is no good that comes to the Sox from the Cubs winning the World Series, none whatsoever. It's absolutely disgusting how many "Sox fans" I know are jumping on this bandwagon and it's even worse how many members on this site, a forum that is home to some of the most die-hard Sox fans in the world, are pro-Cubs right now. I respect your opinion, but this post assumes there isn't room for two winning franchises in Chicago. If the Cubs had won in 2003, the White Sox would still have sold out in 2006. There are enough Chicagoans to fill both stadiums. As far as the Sox being "irreverent", I really could care less what ESPN thinks of the White Sox. And hey, maybe the Cubs winning will bring all the White Sox fans out of hiding next summer. That's my hope.
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 03:11 PM) I got a feeling jake will be exposed today. I could be way off. I get the same feeling. Mystery first pitch thrower is making the news. Who cares?
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 09:11 AM) http://nypost.com/2015/10/11/utley-is-abou...you-play-dirty/ NY media declares war on Utley. In other unsurprising news, Addison Reed still sucks. That seems totally deserved to me. Dirty slides are awful and cheapen the game.
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 08:59 AM) It's almost as annoying as that "Go Cubs Go!" theme song. The number one benefit of being far away from the North side. I never have to hear that song.
  25. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) David Wright is the most tenured player in baseball. Don't know why that surprises me so much. That's a heck of a trivia answer right there. I am also shocked.
