  1. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 08:44 PM) preseason game. chi vs mont 4-1 chi is on top with many backup players on the ice. Ugh. Preseason is such a tease.
  2. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 08:28 PM) i hope you can excuse me.... i am a little on the edge and i want to reply to your post. i like what you wrote. but consent on what taking her to his home, taking her, who at this time volunteering to go into a room with him... this is a comment that need some considering of what really happen. only 2 people knows for sure. it is a credibility question. And I get it, he should be able to take a girl home having never met her before. But if he wants to mitigate risk, he can meet girls the good old fashioned way and be an adult and take her to dinner and a movie or whatever. I know it sounds somewhat naive, but it's also somewhat common sense.
  3. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) but that is luck.... it is not that he is trying to get in these situation, he is a the wrong place and the wrong time. but let me go further, he hired a driver .... an off duty cop.... also to act as a body guard. yet he still get into this situation. what more can he do??? Get consent. Period.
  4. People on twitter like to throw around the word "exonerated" to describe what will happen to Kane. No one is winning. This isn't a game. A woman believes she was violated, a star hockey player is a behavioral problem, a Stanley Cup offseason is completely ruined, and Blackhawk fans look bad like Joe Paterno supporters and Ray Rice supporters.
  5. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 07:02 PM) He may be innocent but let's not act like Kane is a very smart or a very good person. He had a coke problem, hepunched a cab driver over some change, he attempted to choke a woman at University of Wisconsin and now this after weeks before saying "watch out for me" at the SC parade. It's apparent he has no idea how to act as a young man with millions. It doesn't help that his dad is a f***ing moron who has enabled him for years. I would not be the least bit surprised if the Hawks make him get his alcohol abuse issue looked at and, whether or not he does it, attempt to deal him in July 2016 because he cannot be trusted. They won't deal him, but they may well look into his substance abuse issues. Agreed he may not be a good person. This isn't his first altercation.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 04:09 PM) Say what you want about the horses*** Royals organization, but they've made the playoffs 2 years in a row now. Will there come a time the Sox are dominant again? And to those who say I'm a closet Royals fan I again turned down free tickets in mezzanine level with that same group of friends because I see no point in watching a game of a team I don't care about. Give me the Sox or give me no ball in person. The only two horses*** organizations in the AL Central are the Indians and the White Sox. The Royals have reemerged despite their stupid manager.
  7. He's going to pull down A-Rod money. The market will demand it.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 04:51 PM) Couldn't agree more! I wish we could clinch, but the magic number against us is 2
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 08:47 AM) Yeah, bringing cheetahs to games is why they'll make the playoffs Well, it couldn't make the White Sox any worse, could it?
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) How dare you criticize a reporter Jimmy! So disgraceful. Supporting someone who threatens a person because of their view is disgraceful. The last thing the Blackhawks need right now is their fans threatening local reporters.
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 09:40 AM) At least I won't have to hear her stumble through updates today. This is a disgrace. Kindly move somewhere far away and burn all your indian head attire. Blackhawks fans should be better than this.
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 08:59 PM) I could definitely see that happening They almost have to. Right now, he's not super marketable and he's a cornerstone of your franchise. The reality is, Kane has to be more responsible. No, of course he's not immediately guilty in this instance, but this is not his first incident where he's been out drinking and winds up with some pretty disturbing allegations coming out. You just don't hear about this happening to many other players.
  13. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 08:50 PM) What a crazy few days. It's kind of ruined a Stanley Cup summer. Better go win another one. This whole thing deserves justice, but neither party will get it. The Blackhawks will have to tread lightly with Kane for at least a season. I wouldn't be surprised if the Blackhawks would want Kane to get some treatment for alcohol abuse as well.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 08:43 PM) For sure. But if the DNA evidence is accurate he may not have done it. Pubic areas leave DNA even with a condom Again, penetration is not a prerequisite for sexual assault.
  15. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) bs You don't get exonerated for alleged rape. And penetration is not required for sexual assault, by the way. The full questionnaire in a rape kit can explain why DNA came out the way it did.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 08:39 PM) It's pretty close. More and more this case has no legs to stand on. How often does a prosecuting attorney quit when it's a legitimate case? If he did anything to her without consent (may not have left DNA either), he did commit a crime. There may not have been evidence from DNA, but not all rapes are particularly violent, either. If she said no, it's illegal.
  17. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 08:37 PM) This doesn't mean Kane is innocent. I think we're assuming because her lawyer is quitting that Kane is innocent. He could still have done this. It is, however, looking more and more like he's going to have the accusations dropped. This is a reasonable response. He cannot be exonerated, because he'll never be charged due to insufficient evidence, but he could still have done it.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 08:29 PM) In your reply they are referring to the mother. If they could prove it, they could get her for obstruction of justice, I suppose.
  19. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) I agree. Couldn't she face charges for fabricating a story in an ongoing investigation? No. There's so much loaded into a criminal countersuit. They would have to prove the woman didn't think she was assaulted and was knowingly fabricating a story.
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 01:51 PM) Where do the Bears have solid, young talent right now? The only name that comes to mind is Kyle Long. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 02:10 PM) Alshon? QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 02:10 PM) Alshon Jeffery. Hopeful on sutton/ferguson/goldman. The injuries are concerning. He might not be a piece of the long term solution. I would say Kyle Long over Alshon. The young talent we're referring to is Long, White, and the Safety version of Kyle Fuller. Alshon might get franchised by the Bears at the end of his contract, but I think Pace and Co will want to see more durability out of Alshon going forward.
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 06:08 PM) To prove that they do have all the evidence and it's properly taken care of and stored. And prove still that Kane did not do this. Honestly, they won't be able to prove Kane didn't do it. He can never truly be exonerated, but he likely won't get charged. The fact is, the DNA isn't the issue. If she didn't consent and he even tried to do something, that's still foul play.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 11:55 AM) For what exactly? Being accused of sexual assault. They can still pay him, but they shouldn't be parading him out there out of respect for potential victims.
  23. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 08:20 PM) Joe Maddon brings cheetah to cubs game!!!!11 Another amazing example of Joe keeping the clubhouse loose!!1! This is truly revolutionary managing!!!!111!!!!!11! Last year both teams were garbage. This year, we're garbage and the Cubs are great. Whatever it takes, right?
  24. Double-edged sword for Kane. On one hand, he probably won't be charged. On the other hand, he won't be exonerated. This is still bad news for the Blackhawks.
  25. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 22, 2015 -> 09:38 PM) I wouldn't overthink it. Greinke has been dominating from the start of the season, and hasn't really stopped. Best ERA. Greinke, Arrieta, Kershaw. I feel the same. I don't think Arrieta is all that close. W-L are just so meaningless.
