I think when there is a vaccine it will end up like the flu shot: not required but encouraged. Therefore not everyone will get the dose and COVID-19 will forever be apart of our world, like the flu.
-
I agree, Jack. I think there are so many variables and it seems like we took a lot for granted. I don't want to see 6 guys get this and then the Sox have to bring up talentless hacks from Charlotte. I don't want to see the Sox play the Cubs with 15,000 people in attendance. It just won't be the same.

You're going to have a lot of time on your hands when this vaccine is created.

Too bad Marty and Wendy Byrde weren't around to get their people to end that party before it got started

The ultimate contrarion, like I said a page or two back. If this thread was posters primarily saying "Fauci is an idiot, Trump is great, masks are stupid and every store/restaurant/church/beach should be reopened asap," Greg would be saying the opposite. He does this for attention. He enjoys the arguing. He waits to see what majority opinion transpires and takes the other side. He's a baffoon. Next.

Clearly not https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.axios.com/cdc-arkansas-church-coronavirus-outbreak-fb265e5a-5db7-4ace-9bc4-098e0d09e7fd.html This is 2 examples you've been presented with and I'm sure there have been and will be many more. I don't get why you're consistently the ultimate contrarion when it comes to, well, everything. Do you not get attention anywhere else so you come here to disagree and receive it?

Holcomb just pushed stage 3- for some IN counties- from 5/24 to 6/1

Good call. Maybe even an underwriter of some kind- they primarily work from home- whether it be life insurance, mortgage lending, etc.

I agree with all of this except the last 5 words. No one who considers themselves a diehard fan is going to not watch next season. If anything we'll all be dying for a season and will look forward to it then more than ever

Wow that's nuts. You should call & ask to talk to a regional person. That sounds unfair to me. I remember in college I got a job at the campus bookstore, and after 4 days they fired me because "we only need extra hands the first week of the semester because then traffic slows dramatically." Was it a position like that by chance? Not necessarily at a bookstore but you get my drift.
-
They fired you and didn't give an explanation?

I was supposed to go the HRD/ASG in July in Los Angeles & my wife was supposed to go Napa 3 weeks later with a girlfriend... and both are essentially confirmed to be cancelled. So sad. Never ever would've predicted such madness 3 months back.

He lied in this tweet. Seems like a great kid but lying/"forgetting" in this scenario where racism is accused is a terrible look

If 40 million is the difference between the Harper's having money in 2150 but not 2200, then the Harper's circa 2150 really f***ed up Bryce could do a 10 pay whole life insurance policy now for $100M death benefit that'd pay out $230M some day when he dies. There are plenty of ways to make up that difference But again, he would've had to LOVE the Sox pitch and "just liked" the Phillies'. I was just playing devils advocate
-
And again, I'm not saying 40M isn't huge, but when it's in the grand scheme of 330 vs 290? He could set up businesses with 290 and trust funds with 290. Hell, you can do that with 40M straight up. Look at all of the pro athletes who played in eras where they didn't come close to that much. I was in Tampa recently and Lee Roy Selmon has a restaurant chain there and that pays him handsomely. What you touched on is the kicker. "Liking it" isn't good enough. If he liked both organizations equal and one offers 40M more, you go where the 40M is and clearly that was the case. I do think he likely makes up that 40M easily playing here than there, but maybe he didn't want to worry about all of that off of the field.
-
I literally just said it's a 40 million dollar difference, but the thought process doesn't change: there's no way you can't go on unlimited vacations, buy 2-3 houses/condos and buy 5 cars with 290 million.
-
Perhaps Boras said Philly was offering 330 so the Sox didn't even bother.
-
I know the easy answer is "40 million" but what's the difference between 330M and 290M? Like, can you really not do EVERYTHING you want and buy ANYTHING you want with both?
-
Absolutely not. He's entitled to that.

Lori Lightfoot is a joke, clown and a fraud all into one, so I'm not surprised. She's been a hypocrite throughout all of this. I already can't wait until her term is up.
-
Code for "everything was great, but Philly offered more and that's all I care about."

I just think it's going to take much worse. I hope you're right, but George seems to love him and word is he had a huge say in the HH renovation. Now if they win 7-8 games this year and same thing in 2021, then yes I believe he's gone.
-
I don't believe the leash is very short right now (unfortunately). Only way that happens is if they finish with 5 or less wins. If that happens they need a new GM because between Foles, Trubisky, Glennon and allegedly loving Mariota in that draft you just can't let him pick another QB. I don't think that's the case at all. That price tag is like $24M. That's a giant commitment. I wouldn't say "if you had any confidence." Even if they had *some* confidence, that's a large commitment to someone like him. If he's good this year, you tag him.
