He's actually had more than 2 big days. He's been really good over the last 12 games or so

Palka was essentially a nobody who struck it hot in terms of power and nothing else. Tbh he could probably come up to the majors again and crush the ball. The difference is that Jimenez has been touted as a phenom for years and after a slow start he's absolutely pounding the baseball lately, most likely beginning a 6+ year terror on the league. I also don't recall Palka hitting the ball this far. If at any point you watched Palka last year and thought so highly of him that now you consider him a "bust," perhaps your expectations were too high and you found a semi-bright spot in what was a miserable season and assumed he would improve.

Did you just compare Eloy to Palka...?

It's not really for no reason. Harper was highly sought after on this board all winter while I'd say the majority of fans here thought Anderson wasn't going to be apart of contending teams here. He swung too much, didn't get on base enough, etc. Meanwhile for like $24M less, Anderson's season has been superior so far. I'd absolutely love Harper in RF too but let's not forget that Harper isn't even close to worth $30M per on the field. He's got a big reputation but he's just good, not great.

When Cease, Collins, Madrigal and Robert all get to the majors by April at the latest, these threads are going to be "Vaughn or nothing."

Sox vs Nats - 6/11/19 7:10pm
Agree with you. Unfortunately the poster you quoted was insinuating that while it's been encouraging so far, they're about to lose a lot of games.

Yeah especially the amount of runs you have. That's extremely relevant!

Machado is struggling early and that makes Abreu the better player? Look at trends, dude. Abreu stinks defensively and is clearly declining at the plate.

Are you impressed by his .290 OBP?

So he's 5/6 today with a walk? Jesus... after 2 rough games he's back to hitting everything in sight.

That's true. Yeah, it was either your scenario or mine, both involving rounding the base a tad too far. Regardless, that's a call you don't see often.

Or an infield hit/error where he technically makes movement toward second so the 1B tags him out.

Robert and Madrigal both in the lineup in game 2. Robert is 0-1 to begin the game.

Didn't realize he was 16, my bad.

Who was that hitter in DSL last year? Jose Rodriguez or something? Guy was hitting like .367 for two months or something and then fell off the face of the earth. After that I'll need to see someone like Guzman continue to pitch well. Touching 89 isn't very good on paper.

White Sox vs Nationals 7:10 CT Despaigne vs Anibal Sanchez
That's no excuse for an OBP that has consistently hovered below .300 this year
