Official "Squared Circle" Thread
Shadows, get it. I have it, and it rules. I don't care to watch much of the current Rumbles because of all the blurring of the old logo. But, the 80's stuff on here is awesome.

Official "Squared Circle" Thread
QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) He had some good ability and was involved in one of the more important moves in the wrestling world (The Night the Line Was Crossed) and was a decent stable leader. He wasn't amazing but was pretty good. Then again, booking of a Viagra on a pole match doesn't help anybody involved. Then again, at least it wasn't a Judy Bagwell on a pole match. It was more of a marking for list for me. And Gorilla mostly for his commentary on Prime Time Wrestling and the inception of Monday Night Wrestling which became Raw. OK. I was gonna say, if you'd like me to post a little about each name I could do that.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) Yep. Wrestlers since 1985 who have passed before age 65 (I bolded the ones I marked for/remember) Remember? I know about almost every one of the guys on there outside of a handful.

Chris Benoit...
I haven't really read this thread. 171 pages and counting on another board I visit is hard enough to keep up with. I'd just like to say that people should avoid watching any sort of MSNBC/CNN/FOXNews type channels during this. It really scares me to see how badly they have no clue on what is going on. The old cliche holds true think about how wrong they could be on other news they report on. As for the incident itself, I'm not smart enough to come up with the right words. Chris Benoit the performer was one of the greatest I've seen in my 20 years of watching this business. I don't know what was going on at the end of his life, but his actions we're certainly not representative of the Benoit his friends and family knew for 4 decades. I'm interested to see what they find when they get in and see what was in his system and his brain condition. Regardless, a wife, child and husband are gone. Benoit's other children from a previous marriage are without their father, and that's the story.

We Don't Shuffle Anymore!
QUOTE(The Critic @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 07:48 PM) Any particular reason why not? Not sure. My drive to work is about 2 minutes, so I don't need it for that. If I do make long car trips, I usually pop in a George Carlin, David Cross, or Dave Attell cd. I go to the gym after work during the week, but they have music on there and I can watch the tv's while running. So, I guess to answer the question I'm one lame ass mofo.

Clearly I'm the only person here without an iPOD/MP3 player.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 06:04 PM) No, the Beck thing was being reported on Baseball Primer when I woke up, they just didn't officially say it was him. OK. For the record, I'm watching the Red Sox post game on NESN now. No mention at all of Buerhle.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 05:56 PM) I'd just like to put in my final prediction for who we'd get if we traded Buerhle: Bowden and Wily Mo Pena. I hope that's just a wacky sarcastic guess and not some scoop like the Beck deal.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 04:23 PM) FWIW, Gammons is reporting the Red Sox won't trade Lester, Buccholz, or Bowden. If true, hang up the phone KW. Exactly. Then call NY and see if they'd be interested.

White Sox vs. Cubs, 6/24/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) Unless it's for Murton, I don't want to give them MacDougal. I think with him on the mound today, he won't be getting traded to the Cubs. Good.

White Sox vs. Cubs, 6/24/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) Hendry has supposedly told Cubs personnel he's acquiring a power arm for their pen next week, and that's why they're trying to dump Jones on someone. Power arm = Mac? Hopefully they don't dump him on us.

White Sox vs. Cubs, 6/24/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 03:53 PM) I'm just thankful the Brewers have been playing good baseball lately. However, the rumors about the Cubs trading for Griffey Jr. AND Gagne are scary. Who reported that? I've heard the Griffey talk, but nothing on Gagne.

At the very least, we finally got some fun right there.

Math Question
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 08:57 AM) So how'd you do on the grammar part of the test? Didn't take it yet.

Math Question
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 01:00 AM) Those placement tests aren't very hard. If you have a general understanding of algebra, you should be fine. I know it appears as if I don't.. I've just been out of it for so long that I had no idea what the hell was going on with this one. Like another example was: x + 20 = 2x + 60 However, I knew how to break that down and get -40 as the answer. Seriously, thanks for answering everyone.

Math Question
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 12:52 AM) Why are you doing beginners algebra during the summer in the 1st place? 23 now, and finally going to college. I know, I'm a goof for waiting.. I have to take a test to see where I'm at so they know what level to start me at. So, as I said prior, I'm in big trouble.

Math Question
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 12:48 AM) You can divide each term by 8. 16x/8 = 2x 8/8 = 1 A would be right if it was 16x-8x. B would also be right if it was 16x-8x. D would be right if it was 16x-64. Thank you.

Math Question
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 12:46 AM) Well, it's quite simple really. 8(2x-1) would make it 16x-8, simply by taking the 8 and multiplying by both numbers in the parentheses. 8 x 2x = 16x 8 x 1 = 8 Oh lord, I am f***ed. I figured you had to multiply the 8 x 2 but I couldn't figure out how the hell they got the one. Better than me at graphics and math...
-
Math Question
I'm sure this is very simple, but I don't understand. It's a sample question off an "Elementary Algebra" packet. Question: 16x - 8 = The choices I was given we're (A) 8x "B" 8(2x-x) "C" 8(2x-1) (D) 8(2x-8) The packet tells me "C" is the right answer. How do you get to that? I can see why the answer isn't "A". I understand "B" simply to me because there cannot be that many x's in the answer. However, I don't get "C" or "D". = me because I cannot figure out something apparently so simple.

Official NHL Thread
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 10:38 PM) This is probably the best action shot of Toews, although I don't know if it qualifies as full size. That's not bad. Sometime in the next week I'll make some sort of wallpaper.
-
Official NHL Thread
OK. I made a new header for TalkBHawks. EDIT: The header is now up. Any problems let me know. As for a wallpaper, I found a few nice photos of Kane. However, images of Toews are not as easy to come by. So, if anyone has any decent size images let me know.

Erstad Back to DL
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) In all honesty, I'll be fine if it is him, as long as we don't give up anyone of significance. I don't care for him myself, but you know more than I.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 12:58 PM) Hey, whatever works Actually, now that I read the post again, I thought he wanted a header for TalkBHawks. Looks like he meant a wallpaper. I'll see if I can do a wallpaper as well.

QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 12:28 PM) The Sox are trying desperately to add a corner OF to this team. I know Jacque Jones name has been brought up, but don't be surprised if this team does add him or a different bat by the end of the day Sunday. Lets hope it's not Jacque Jones.
