  1. I would probably swap Black and Wilkins. I would think Ortiz, Jaye, or Hansen may slip past Rienzo, and would wait a bit before placing Mitchell so high. I would put Vance in the mix at RP as well.
  2. Beck with a good start so far for the Dash. 4.0 ip 2 H 0 R 1 BB 3 K
  3. Tyler Danish in for Bristol for his third appearance. So far 1.0 ip, all zeros save for 1 K.
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 30, 2013 -> 02:36 PM) I'm thinking Jacob May isn't long for Great Falls. He definitely is off to a hot start. This draft class is looking pretty positive so far.
  5. Obviously Anderson is a youngen but the strikeout and walk rates need work.
  6. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 29, 2013 -> 05:11 PM) Are you looking at the suspended game from last night?? I think that is why Ortiz was "pulled" Now I just feel dumb.... Thanks for pointing that out.
  7. Johnson now 4 for 4 and HR short of the cycle, picked up another E though. Coats with a 3 run homer. Braulio done after 2 ip 0 H 0 R 1 BB 1 K, not sure if this was planned or for injury.
  8. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jun 29, 2013 -> 12:55 PM) Braulio Ortiz has got to be the dark horse of our pitchers down at the farm. His slider is an out pitch. Nice to see an int'l player progressing in the system. If he finished this season how he has been and carries it into next year he may be cracking some top 10 lists by next summer. Glad to see Josh Phegley hitting again. 2-4, HR, 2 RBIs. Carlos Sanchez has the slowest, steadiest improvement in his average. After going 2-4, 2B, with a walk his average is up to .242. Everyone seems to be down on him but I feel like spending 2014 down in AAA, a more age appropriate year for him, we should have a better indication of what to expect from his bat. Love Erik Johnson carrying his K's up to AAA for his second straight start. 7 Ks in 7 IP for a nice QS for EJ. Jared Mitchell's average is now .207 after 2-3, 2 2B night. Improvement is good right? Trayce Thompson 1-3, 2B, RBI. Average at .270. I remember people calling me crazy when I said he could hit .270 this year. Really starting to like the kid and he just racks up the 2Bs and RBIs in AA. Kevin Vance is one of my favorite relievers down at the farm. With Daniel Webb's big fastball getting all the attention Vance seemingly goes unnoticed but he could be a decent piece for us down the line. His good stuff is now turning into quality stats. 2.1 IP, 0 H, 2 BB, 3 K, SV. Micah Johnson went 2-2 in Kanny's PPD game. It has to be time to move him up. He's hitting .339, he's way too old for low A and I believe he either leads MiLB or is in 2nd in the following categories: Rs, SBs, 3Bs. Not to mention he also leads Kanny in HRs. Trey Michalzewski went 3-5, RBI and a 2B in the 3 hole for Bristol. Sammy Ayala went 3-5, RBI to bring his average up .308. Nick Basto 2-4, R, 3B, 2 RBIs, 2Ks. Playing almost everyday for Great Falls and hitting .359 in 39 ABs. Overall an AWESOME day for a lot of our better prospects. Great to see after such a piece of s*** day from the Sox. Carlos Sanchez and Jared Mitchell have both been very hot as of late. Sanchez has a .484 wOBA over his last 8 games, and Mitchell has a whopping .590 wOBA over his last 10. Granted Mitchell's success is now coming in AA after demotion, but at least they are both starting to show signs of life.
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 26, 2013 -> 02:51 PM) Jeremy Dowdy was an undrafted free agent who has 80 career plate appearances. I think these guys look at numbers and decide whether they're up or down and don't take anything into context I should have explained better. This is strictly by stats, and does not represent who is moving up and down the top prospect list. It's simply who is having the greatest rate of change in both directions. So for instance Micah Johnson has been hot, but he's been hot all season, so he wouldn't be on a list like this. I use it as an aid to see who is starting to turn things around, or who is starting to go into a tailspin. Its an early indicator.
  10. Here is a list of players on the move right now, both in a good way and a bad way. This is not the hottest or the coldest, but people making the biggest jump or fall over the previous 5 appearances. Up Jeremy Dowdy Andy Wilkins Marcus Semien Kyle Hansen Brandon Brennan Down Courtney Hawkins Keenyn Walker Miguel Gonzalez Jake Cose Storm Throne
  11. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 08:03 PM) Anderson seems to be holding his own. Hawkins, not so much. Let's not forget that Hawkins came out of the gates like a stud last year too.
  12. Johnson was profiled on milb.com as one of the "Ten First Half Climbers in the South Atlantic League": 5. Micah Johnson, 2B (Kannapolis Intimidators) — 2012 Draft, 9th round, White Sox unranked What he did: .335/.416/.524, 6 HR, 9 3B, 16 2B, 38 RBIs, 55 steals in 71 tries in 70 games. The 22-year-old has done a bit of everything this year. In addition to leading the SAL in triples and stolen bases (by a healthy margin), Johnson sits sixth in OPS. He showed he could get on base and use his speed with Great Falls last year, hitting .273/.375/.391 in 69 games with 19 steals in 25 tries, but the uptick in power is a nice surprise if he can carry it with him to the higher levels. Where he might rank: Tough to say. Without being too aggressive, let’s say somewhere between 10-20 of an improving but still thin White Sox system. http://milbprospective.wordpress.com/2013/...tlantic-league/
  13. QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 22, 2013 -> 09:35 PM) Yeah probably. But I mean as opposed to on the way to the hospital. Very true. The Hawks look like they're content trying to run the clock down with the lead. Not liking this.
  14. QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 22, 2013 -> 09:31 PM) At least toews is still on the bench. I'm getting the feeling he's done though. Not even getting worked on by the trainers. Not a good sign.
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 22, 2013 -> 09:19 PM) Real bad job not clearing the puck 2-1 Most Boston goals this series have been on the Hawks having a hard time clearing.
  16. Q broke up the Bickell/Kane/Toews line. Kruger in for Toews.
  17. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jun 22, 2013 -> 07:12 PM) Not that it matters, Johan Cruz of the DSL team (I think he was signed for 500K last summer?) is playing remarkably bad. They keep putting him lead off and he goes 0-5 0-6 with a couple of Ks almost everyday. Hitting .056, very tough stark for the kid. Even in DSL he's still a boy amongst men. Otano, another one of the notable signings, had a decent day today.
  18. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 10:06 PM) For the love of god call up Micah Johnson already!!!! You'd probably have to send DeMichele down if you did that, or slide one over to SS or maybe even an OF position.
  19. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 09:24 PM) The trick is to find another Kenny Williams -- and get somebody to overpay for a White Sox player. Giddyup, Mr. Hahn. Which begs the question, who are the short list of GMs that you think Hahn could outsmart?
  20. QUOTE (QuickJones81 @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 09:24 PM) My discontent isn't with the moves last year. I was fully in favor of each of those three when KW made them. The lack of a return for TCQ is what is disappointing. Has KW really had a good track record of getting ample return when he's in a seller mode? Maybe Flowers and Podsednik are positives, but Santos, Quentin, and Jackson didn't really pan out in terms of return. With the state of the team this year hopefully Hahn will have more success.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 09:16 PM) It's impossible to fault KW for going out and getting Youk, Liriano and Myers. I'd say 7 or 8 times out of 10, they win the division with those moves if you kept playing out the season over and over again in a computer simulation. My discontent isn't with the moves last year.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 08:57 PM) Well, if you want to count roughly 1/2 of Francisco Liriano last year at the deadline...the Hernandez/Escobar deal. Considering his 5.40 ERA when we had him, that's not much of a consolation.
  23. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 08:27 PM) Trayce with a HR, almost has the AVG up to .270 on the year. Looks like Simon Castro is officially a reliever. Probably a good idea to get him used to coming out of the pen, because we'll probably need him in a couple weeks. So this pretty much solidifies the fact that we got absolutely nothing for Carlos Quentin.
