QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:08 PM) I challenge anyone to give me one good reason why Bob Wickman should even be considered for AL Cy Young. Other than the fact that he has a couple more saves than Hermanson and Rivera. if the cy young is based on attractiveness, then he wins hands down

QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 10:44 PM) Reminds me of NBA Jam. i said the same thing after making it

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) but there are a whole lot of idiots here. no personal attacks!

QUOTE(farmteam @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) Perhaps, but I think Decent test scores and Good-Very Good grades out weigh Good-Very Good test scores and decent grades. i'd argue that based on my experience but depends what schools you apply to i guess.
-
QUOTE(farmteam @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) Grades>test scores. i'd argue that. As long as you have decent grades (B area) you'll be fine. Test scores are what they look at first and foremost. Unless your grades are in the C area, they won't care about them

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) Wow. Where did the 30-guy end up going??? UIC
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) They say anything over a 24 will get you into Illinois...good job. eeeeh, depends what you apply for. I know someone that got a 30 and got turned down from engineering, while i know someone who got into the farming school w/ a 22.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) What have you taken as far as math? I noticed a HUGE difference after Analysis (1 sem trig, 1 sem pre-calc). My math score shot up 6 points while the others stayed level. 6 points is a huge difference in one year. i only took 1 math class my first year and that was pre-linear algebra (for business). Kind of a weird class w/ all kinds of theories/problems you'll never have to deal with again. It's the pre-cursor class to the calculus i'm taking in the fall.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) I took a pre-act and my score was a 27 so I am in good shape IMO. my pre-act score was a 22. i scored a 26 and a 28 on the real one.

What are some of your GPA's and ACT/SAT scores like? go to princetonreview.com search for the schools and it will come up with average ACT/SAT scores, etc. really a great site that i visited alot when i was looking at schools

ORTON FOR HEISMAN thanks willie

alright guys i missed the *important part of game. anyone wanna give me some quick notes/observations?
-
junior year = ACTs and act's suck. Well i guess that depends on how you do on them.
-
also a little tidbit. I believe 75% of students are not working in what they majored in 5 years after they graduated. Something like that, as i was told by my advisor.

QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) What are you majoring in? What is your schedule for this year? Right now i'm in general education (ie: undecided) But i will be applying to the business college to major in business administration this spring. My schedule is boring, require classes. statistics, spanish, calculus, and accounting. Tip: if your applying and even remotely interested in majoring in business, apply to the business college, it's a b**** to try and transfer (ie: me)

I'm going to be a soph. at U of I-Champaign this year. I really enjoyed my first year sans my roomate. As long as you don't mind big lectures, you'll enjoy the class part of it. The school's specialties well......are everything, it's so big . But i'd say most students are engineering or business. The social part of it, well there's so many people, you'll find something no matter what your into.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) I don't even think I'd want a single. That'd be too boring. I'm in this big room that has its own hall inside, and 4 separate rooms down the hall with a big common room. Two to a room, which makes 8 of my closest friends. It's gonna be great. eh, i had a bad experience with a random roomate last year. I learned i can't share a TV with anyone I know enough people on campus that when i wanna do something i can, plus a floor full of people. But yeah, the situation you have sounds pretty cool too.
-
I'm moving in next wednesday, don't start till the wednesday after that though. I can't wait, single room this year

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) But Jabroni's gonna be there so your telling me when you ban someone on soxtalk that it doesn't kill them instantly?
-
i won't be there 1) i'll be at school and need to save up for playoffs 2) i've had an overdose of soxtalk at the park this summer. Considering i've met just about everyone i'd like to meet on the boards

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Yep. We don't need more proof that white people can't dance. touche But honestly, i'd give up the halftime dance if need be. That's the one thing i could see them getting offended over, especially since it is a WHITE student. But the rest i just think is stupid to raise an issue over.

May it haunt you in your dreams forever

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) But have you seen just how ridiculous he looks? I can see where you're going with the religious rituals idea, but that isn't really the case with most of the mascots that are being banned. I think it would be less of a problem if the mascots didn't do such ridiculous and idiotic antics. That dance that the illini mascot does is horrible. If using that type of mascot, at least do it a lot more respectfully. There's definitely a difference between that stupid dance and Chief Osceola throwing a flaming spear into the groud while riding a horse before FSU games, in my opinion. I'd rather see a representation of a noble warrior than a dancing idiot. The same can be said about that leprechaun. When do you ever see Irishmen doing pushups while being held up in the air or being tossed back and forth holding up a sign while being held by your legs? Not very honorable, in my opinion. the student that plays chief illiniwek goes to an actual reservation and learns the dance from them. still stupid?

QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) ESPN just had the Chicago Bears 2004 highlights on. It was a lot of careful editing of 5 or 6 games. they didn't even show the games like most of them do, it was all about players for this year but yeah, i'll be watching the sox, maybe flipping during commercials, but that's about it
