QUOTE(robin_ventura_eternal @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) have faith in the timo. in game 7 of the world series this year, he will hit another bloop single to win the game with 2 out in the 9th. then you will have to eat your words. haha! where do you buy your drugs? -

well.......i really am not a huge videogamer for anything besides sports games. GTA is really the only non-sports game i don't play. So those are some good reasons to not have a gamecube.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 12:13 AM) The White Sox's 40-man roster stands at 39 after they outrighted RHP Kris Honel to Double-A Birmingham. Maybe something is abrewing. Or it gives us flexibility for something later. look under futuresox forum. -

ever see little big league. when the old guy gets a single and the kid gets all excited for him, then the hitting coach says, "it's just a seeing-eye single." yeah. what's timo's average again? -

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) Usually they have people who set up leagues and such so that they can scope out the talent for baseball. Not many kids have there own things over their... Most of the equipment they use are just old pieces of s*** hand me downs. Soccer far and away blows out any sport that is a given. I mean they pack stadiums with 100,000+ without any problem. Football is big more so here than any where else... because in alot of people's mind out of the usa soccer>football. I am gonna stick to baseball and basketball being a close number two behind soccer. my comment was about the USA, not the world. but i agree with you on the whole world popularity thing -
QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) Thanks. I haven't really followed the CWS before this year, mainly b/c none of "my" teams have been in it, so I'm guessing that the Super Regionals are single elimination. this is my first time following it, basically because i actually watched my team's games a few times. The whole thing sitll confuses the hell out of me.

also, this will be the last generation of EA football on the PS2. should be interesting after that.

QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) these commercials are fine, and the beer is okay... but you know the one where they're making a joke about how the white dude can't dance because he's white until he's got a red stripe in his hand... where are all the PC people asking this commercial to be banished? can you imagine if budweiser made a commercial about how a black dude got a s***ty score on his SAT until he had a bud in his hand? i think there would be quite an outcry. the double standard has been around forever. stop using your energy on it, it's not going away.

QUOTE(Fotop @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) I played it on hesiman, took me a couple seasons to master it, but the only way to pass on hesiman was to throw deep balls to your speedy, tall receivers. 33% you'll be able to get it if you have decent receivers. Other than that, nope there's no way to pass. Oh and don't even think about running unless you have a sick running back. One thing I wish they'd fix is how awesome scrambling QBs are. Really good ones are impossible to stop, and I always recruit the fastest QBs you can find. Make linebackers quicker, make spy plays actually work, something needs to be changed there because snapping in the shotgun and running with the QB is what almost everyone does. But like I said, I watched a few of the videos and the game looks much improved. I'm really hoping this one lives up to the hype, because this series is my favorite of the EA sports games. i'm actually tihnking of pulling out '04 and seeing how that played.

QUOTE(Fotop @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) I was HIGHLY disappointed with last year's game the first few weeks I had it. Too much attention to the gizmos and gadgets and the gameplay suffered bigtime (especially offense). However, after I got sick of Madden this game grew on me...but I'm really hoping for gameplay improvements. Speed the game up, let receivers actually catch the ball, and pay less attention to shaky screens and such. The new features sound pretty cool, and if it plays like Madden did last year I'm gonna have lots of fun with it. Hopefully they bulked up recruiting a bit too. Either way, I'm excited for this game if only for the fact that Iv(being the crusty old senior RA I am) get to pound on his over-confident freshmen. EDIT: After checking the videos out I'm REALLY excited. The gamespeed looks good, and the game itself has a great look. interesting you say that. I just pulled out last year's version and played a game....it's really not that good. what's with the 2-3 second delay after every play? the passing game is pretty impossible on heisman, i'll have to try AA again. The crowd control is a good idea, but doesn't work too great.
