I've been on the Roch train for the last month or so, for many of the reasons Jimmy has posted. I'd rather draft a SS over a catcher. They're more productive because they play more often and their body doesn't get beaten down like catchers. Catchers also tend to develop slowly. I don't see a big enough gap between Emerson and Roch that would lead me to wanting Emerson. Higher volatility and longer development time for the highschooler. Roch fits the timeline. He could make it up here next season potentially. He's a really safe pick. His floor is a guy like Dansby Swanson. As others have said, he could be a guy like Tulo. Just pick him.

His family owns the freaking Bulls and White Sox. They'll be fine. I still think he'll want Getz to go for it this season. It could be his last chance at a chip.

Jerry is 90. He doesn't have much time left realistically. In a year where the Sox could make the playoffs and attendance is up, I really don't think he will thinking "I need to keep payroll low with a potential upcoming lockout". He's going to want to go for it once more while he's alive.

I think he's doing just fine with the approach he's had so far during his career.

I feel like he can paint the corners with his 100 mph fastball when he is on, which has been a good chunk of the season. Completely unhittable when he is doing that.

Yeah, I can kind of see why they aren't sure about his long-term future at SS. Roch at SS and Colson at 3B certainly isn't the worst outcome. Plus defenders at both positions.

He was in the bottom 3rd percentile last week when i checked. He's dropped to the bottom 2nd percentile! His metrics are so bad. I don't see how he can keep his production up enough to be a starter.
