  1. I feel like Johnson really hasn't been bad. Yeah he is only batting .208 but his OBP is .321 and has worked the count more then almost any other hitter except maybe LaRoche. Yeah his defense is a bit shaky but he hasn't made an error yet and is making the routine plays. He has also only started 8 games so I don't think it is fair to really evaluate him yet. Let's see how the rest of the month plays out
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 07:59 PM) Kazmir hit Cain in the foot with a slider. No way it was intentional. Nothing like a 100 mph fastball behind the head. Yeah I saw the pitch. Really didn't look intentional to me.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 07:19 PM) I would guess no, since he's pitched for New Orleans and the Marlins the last three years. Probably not an issue though. He's safe.
  4. Astros are in 1st place in the West with a 6-6 record
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 05:45 PM) Because Kazmir threw at Cain early in the game and nothing happened to him or Melvin. I'd love to see this type of spirit and enthusiasm on the White Sox. The home crowd basically won that game for the Royals...you just had the feeling there was no way they weren't going to at least come back and tie it. Escobar is their brother. Ventura and Herrera have his back. Simple. All the Hispanic players on that team are bonded together, with Sal Perez as the father/mentor/advisor despite his young age, the AL equivalent of Yadier Molina. The Royals are simply showing they're not going to be pushed around by anyone in baseball anymore (plus, nobody except his teammates can stand Lawrie). LaRussa did the same thing for years and years and people called him a master tactician/hardass. So be it. Didn't know that. Was it clear he was trying to hit him?
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 05:38 PM) If Quintana was going to the DL, Rodon wouldn't be coming up as a reliever. When was the last time he pitched? He could be out of the bullpen for a day or two and then start in place of Quintana. I doubt it but that is the first thing I thought of. I am not a fan of him being here out of the bullpen
  7. Anybody think Quintana will be heading to the DL? Or Noesi?
  8. Wow, Herrera throws behind Lawrie and is ejected. Benches cleared.. Why are they throwing at him again? Is once not enough?
  9. Well, I guess they are giving it right back to us from yesterday
  10. Martinez can't hit the ball that far with his knee, not sure why we are playing back so far
  11. And a weak ground ball by Eaton
  12. Why is he not stealing?
  13. Need to start chipping away at this lead if we want a chance
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 12:52 PM) Hasn't Conor been wearing batting gloves all year...? He definitely was on Opening Day. No, he pretty much changes every game
  15. I blame Tyler Flowers and Gordon Beckham
  16. I was really hopeful for this game too
  17. What a pathetic inning. And Cooper is too lazy to get out of the dugout and talk to his pitcher after loading the bases
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 12:40 PM) Where the f*** is the pitching coach? Yeah, no clue why he didn't come out a long time ago
  19. dam Eaton (6 pts): Melky Cabrera (3 pts): glangon Jose Abreu (1 pts): Adam LaRoche (2 pts): Condor13 Avisail Garcia (3 pts): Jose Abreu Alexei Ramirez (4 pts): LTBF, BigHurt3515 Gillaspie/Bacon (4 pts): BigEdWalsh Soto/Flowers (3 pts): CarlosMartinez Micah Johnson/Emilio Bonifacio (6 pts): Bench (8 pts): Noone ( 1,000,000 pts ): hi8is
  20. Good start for the team. Had way too many turnovers and still won by over 10
  21. QUOTE (beautox @ Apr 18, 2015 -> 07:52 PM) If Erik is healthy and back to his former top prospect self thats a huge boon for the system. Imagine top prospect Erik and Rodon in the rotation instead of Danks and Noesi. Oh man. Come on Erik!
  22. Wow, Erik Johnson touched 95 today and worked around 92-94. It would be huge to get the 2013 Erik Johnson back
  23. QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 18, 2015 -> 07:21 PM) I don't expect him to be in AAA at any point this year. He still has not played a lot of baseball, and the Sox have a SS. No need to rush the kid. Also he has 1 error this season, on a throw. Why are we talking about moving him? I think it has been stated that his defense is not good and he won't stick at SS. Obviously the White Sox will try everything they can to keep him there and take over for Alexei in 2 years
  24. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 18, 2015 -> 06:37 PM) I have no idea how Tim Anderson isn't considered a consensus top 50 prospect. Dude just hits. I am excited about him. Are people expecting him to be in AAA by the middle of the season? I really hope he finds a position, I think he could be good in RF/LF
  25. Let's hope we don't see high pitch count Quintana
