  1. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 07:28 AM) I think the easy star to pair with Jimmy right now that's actually available is DeMarcus Cousins. Noah, Gasol, Snell, and a pick for Cousins? I don't know if we have the assets to get him. FWIW they do have Belinelli/Gay and other trade chips. Anyway, let me have my fantasy: Rose (34)/Brooks (8)/Moore (5)/Hinrich (1) Butler (36)/Hinrich (8)/Moore (4) McDermott (28)/Mirotic (18)/Butler (2) Gibson (30)/Mirotic (10)/Portis (8) Cousins (36)/Portis (12) Butler (38) Cousins (36) Rose (34) Gibson (30) Mirotic (28) McDermott (28) Portis (20) Hinrich (9) Moore (9) Brooks (8)
  2. $2M is nothing for one year of an outfielder. No reason to be upset.
  3. I'll always remember when Konerko tossed a ball to a kid in-between the 6th/7th innings of a 2014 game, but this guy in his 40s took the ball from the kid. Alexei noticed this, got another ball, and personally delivered it to the kid. Class act, and very consistent numbers from season to season.
  4. He averaged 153 games per year. Not bad at all for the modern era.
  5. QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 10:01 PM) It would be the best offer on the table. Unless someone hits the magic century mark it might get it done, and 95 mill offer gives Sox wiggle room to counter up to 100 mill vs other potential bidders Funny how he wanted what- 6/150?
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 09:26 PM) It's a shame that Rose is no longer the player he used to be. We'd have a real shot of winning it all if we had MVP Rose with this Jimmy Butler. Jimmy was the guy we needed back in 2011. Imagine Butler there instead of Bogans. Championship.
  7. 9 game winning streaks in hockey are so impressive. Perhaps more impressive than a 9 game winning streak in any of the 4 major sports. Maybe NFL gives it some competition.
  8. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 08:12 PM) Jimmy gonna need 50 Will he? Only time will tell.
  9. BarstoolWSD has been wrong countless times this offseason. I wouldn't trust him
  10. Roch KubatkoVerified account ‏@masnRoch 6m6 minutes ago Per industry source, #orioles have made offer to Cespedes. Seem to prefer him over Upton at the moment. Nothing new on Chris Davis.
  11. Alexei Ramirez finishes his White Sox career with 4999 plate appearances. When he's in his 40s and retired, let's sign him to an honorary one-day contract and get him that elusive #5000!
  12. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 04:29 PM) How can a DH cost you runs on defense? When they distract the infield from the dugout and the infielder commits an error, sabermetrics attribute the error the the DH.
  13. And last year, the terrific trio of Samardzija, Soto, and Bonifacio
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 04:24 PM) Who was the last cub hero we signed? Dioner Navarro
  15. Maybe we trade for Antoine Vermette to replace Kruger?
  16. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 09:33 AM) The prequels are terrible. They all are. Episode I is probably the least terrible of them, though. The 30 minute pod race is my main issue with TPM. That, and Jar Jar/Snoke.
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 13, 2016 -> 09:46 PM) Wrong. It's an opinon! QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 13, 2016 -> 09:56 PM) 3 was good until the NOOOOOOOO Vader moment. The laughably worst moment of the entire series. Agreed, they could have made that scream a bit.... more emotional/less awkward.
  18. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 02:38 PM) Anderson will either be traded at the deadline or playing in Chicago this season. Well... in September.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 02:23 PM) One thing with Fowler is that if Sox do sign him, be prepared to see him complain to the ump whenever he gets called out looking. Followed by his wife tweeting about how bad the call was
  20. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 09:39 AM) Great interview. Really looking forward to this addition. Also glad to see advanced metrics might make it to the broadcast. No one tell Hawk!
  21. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 02:19 PM) Who cares how often he strikes out? Every time he strikes out that's at least three pitches he's seen. Better than Avi grounding out 6-3 on a breaking ball on 0-1. Fowlers allure is how often he gets on base. He's patient and works pitchers. Fowler has finished in the top 20 of the MLB in pitches per plate appearance in back to back seasons. Strange how people use that when it comes to Fowler, but if it's LaRoche/Dunn/anyone else striking out often, there is no positive.
  22. QO aside, the last thing we need is another strikeout-prone, poor defensive player.
