  1. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 01:13 PM) They only in on Justin Upton. That's what recent reports are saying, but we can't be sure
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) He is truly a gem. I still remember when he posted on this board years ago as a prospect. (As well as Baj and others) Just a great guy. That's pretty cool. How were you guys sure it was him?
  3. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 12:32 PM) how would it? It takes away a potential suitor (Baltimore)
  4. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 12:28 PM) Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi 3m3 minutes ago Source: #Orioles, #Rockies engaged in "ongoing trade talks" on Colorado outfielders. Rockies have surplus following Parra deal. @FOXSports DO IT! Yes! This would be huge for us and Cespedes.
  5. QUOTE (Sockin @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) FWIW Merkin just said on his podcast that he's predicting Garcia is the opening day RF. Good, that means Garcia won't be the opening day RF.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 09:56 PM) Abreu and Frazier alone can account for 60. We're not going to lead the league in homers or anything, but I think we have enough power to compete as is. We're probably better off getting a guy who is good at getting on base with decent power as opposed to someone who can hit 30 bombs, but might only get on at a .300 clip. Abreu and Frazier get you 60, but the rest of the team gets you what... another 60? I mean, Eaton is literally our 3rd best home run hitter.
  7. The UnexpectaBULLS. At this point, maybe the ExpectaBULLS.
  8. I love how people go back and hate the package we gave for Samardzija. It was worth the risk. At the time, not a bad trade, and honestly, all of the players we gave up are/were easily replaceable.
  9. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 07:59 PM) I think the sox are out of Cespedes and Upton just working on plan B now. More twitter junk... https://mobile.twitter.com/ChicagoSports17/...727379893530625 Quite the source. His next tweet is "@chuckgarfien what are the sox gonna do"
  10. That's Marcus Stroman, JD Martinez, and Cespedes today at a golf outing
  11. Rich Coutinho ‏@coutinho9 4h4 hours ago To me if Cespedes options are dwindling (maybe Chisox Angels, poss O's if Davis does not sign there) Mets should pounce on it 2 years $30M (Mets ESPN beat reporter ^)
  12. I thought Eaton did that to "bait" runners into attempting to advance.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 07:03 PM) We've done pretty well on that front. While we do tend to do well with injury prevention, it seems like our injuries happen to the star players. Quentin, Sale, Abreu, Eaton to name a few
  14. My biggest concern with Gonzalez isn't the Coors effect, it's his chronic health issues. I really hope he's just a backup plan to a FA OF.
  15. QUOTE (Tony @ Jan 10, 2016 -> 11:38 PM) Yeah, I think he's already punched his ticket. The 500 will be the cherry on top. With 3 Cups, he'll be remembered as a Blackhawk without question. I don't know about that. His best seasons from a statistics standpoint came before his days in Chicago.
  16. I hope Raburn doesn't go back to Detroit... In his career, Ryan Raburn has 82 RBIs against the White Sox. His next highest total against one team? 25.
  17. Wow. Shocked and saddened by the news of Bowie.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2016 -> 08:56 PM) Hawks are within 4 points of the #1 seed. @AustinIllini
  19. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 08:51 AM) Washington is going to beat Green Bay by double digits. Packers are really awful right now. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 01:46 PM) Packers always find a way, I've learned. "Relax." -Aaron Rodgers
  20. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 08:48 AM) Mine will probably be horrible too, but my MLB predictions were almost perfect so I'll give it a shot. Wild Card: HOU over KC CIN over PIT SEA over MIN GB over WAS yikes...
