I think that leaves Putnam as the last deal undone for 2016.

That's entirely too much $$ haha

About 200k below his projection. Lawrie got +200k while Avi got -200k. I love the law of averages. :D

Welcome to the arbitration process.

That is way too much money to give to a scrub.

I wish they could just cut ties with him already.

So 2 x Avi's = 1 x Brett

I bet that is not the case this season.

Good work if you can get it

Must be nice to bad at your job, but still bring home $2 mil.

There is a lot of hate for Avi right now but the beauty of sports is that fans can forget about their hatred and their opinions of you after you put together a couple of good months. Avi has all the tools to succeed and I would love to see him put it together just to teach people a lesson (that they will never learn).

But likely he wont, however. LOL

He's one of the best few hundred individuals in the world at his given profession which is part of a multi billion dollar industry. That is why he still gets paid $2 million per year.

Nooooooooooooo

He's on the roster regardless, it was just a matter of how much $$

For all the overpaid Avi Garcias, there are countless underpaid Sales & Quintanas. Baseball.

More like capitalism.

Ya no s***. I just wanted to b**** alittle.

I'm rooting for Avi (he's actually one of the rare bad ball players I actually like. Great work ethic, has heart, leaves it all out there, great personality etc.) But I just don't like his odds offensively or defensively as a player.

I get it, we're all frustrated with the guy. He's so young that you want to give him another shot, and it's hard to believe last year was his 1st full season in mlb. And I do think he's a hard worker in general, but needs to trim down a little too. But it gets tiring watching him butcher fly balls with horrible routes and lack of speed. For being so athletic he can't run for s*#t in the OF!

If it was like capitalism, Sale & Quintana could leave to the highest bidder instead of being under Sox control for 6 years.

If Hahn had any balls whatsoever, he would have signed Avi to long term extension instead of going the cheap route with this arbitration nonsense! No balls I tell ya, NONE!

Watching Avi butcher up RF is almost as bad as watching Fisk try to keep from falling asleep while butchering LF back in 85'.....and they are both physically about the same build......

I'm curious to see how Avi can produce in the the minors this year both offensively and defensively. As of now, he does not belong anywhere near the MLB main roster.

Fair point...I guess to put it better would be more like every other employer.

The condition you identified is present in pretty much every workplace in America.

Nah, the players wouldn't be unionized and wouldn't make squat

$2M is nothing for one year of an outfielder. No reason to be upset.

Should just DFA him.. bet no one else would try him in the majors this year... this guy was what, the 2nd worst player in baseball last season?

40 man roster is not full and Avi has an option year remaining. No need to DFA him.
