Only if theres a softball game vs WSI
That game would be forfeited due to their inability to field a full team.

I think we just ban him. SS2K5 loves good excuse for banning people
That moron deserved their ban for not shutting up after being repeatedly asked to do so. The parasite is gone, get over it. Or, there's always WSI... what's left of it that is.

Careful, you're playing into the victims hand. Cast the first stone and then claim the roll of the victim when the stone comes flying back at ya. I get it though, it's hard to resist such temptation.

Somehow the Walrus was misses in this discussion so I'd thought he deserved an honorable mention.

So the new nightmare scenario is Harper signing with the Giants and the Phils throwing panic money at Machado.
I don't think I want to be here if that happens.

Good lord, the Cubs are not signing either of them and we have known this for 3 months.
Seriously! Even after Theo has stated numerous times that the cubs don't have the payroll flexibility to sign big free agents, people still want to believe the cubs will sign Harper. All because Harper and Bryant are bros.

What big money would that be?
4 minutes ago, Jack Parkman said:Ellsbury and Gardner for the Yankees, Zobrist+others for the Cubs.
Ellsbury is signed through the 2021 season and Gardner is is making 7.5M so while his salary will come off the books it's barely noticeable.
Zobrist money coming off the books will easily be eaten up by arbitration players next year. Lester, Darvish, Heyward and Chatwood are the big money contracts holding back the cubs and those contracts aren't going anywhere.

Yankees and Cubs have big money coming off the books. They both could fit them in without going into the tax next year, which they can't do this year.
What big money would that be?

Welp, Hahn misses another great opportunity to sign a FA. Cody Ashe to the Dodgers. Thanks Rick!

Lol, you got it. Glad you're not offended because I'm just playing around having some fun. We're all chomping at the bit waiting for something/anything to happen.

Shall I revert back to Greggypoo? Come on man - you know I love you.
I've always thought the nickname greggypoo was edgy and cool! Just imagine a KC hipster wearing a Fedora.

Sox sux, JR is cheap, Hahn is a cub fan, KW always gets his guy too late, Madrigal is small, Collins hits for a low BA, Coop can't fix shit, Moncada is a lost cause after his first full season, TA needs to be a catcher, Sox failed to sign Avi to an extension, Sox won't bring back Ozzie, Ricky is our guy, Yolmer is only good for self inflicted Gatorade dunkings, Engel is the long term CF of the future, why the fuck isn't Eloy up yet?, Robert is made of glass, Hansen is a ghost in the shell of his former prospect status, Hahn can't find his Joc, the trades have been over-pays, Harper is sleeping with Bryant and the reason Harper won't sign with the Sox, Johnny Hustle won't listen to his BFF or brother in law, Giolito still has front line starter potential while Lopez is a mid-rotation starter at best on a good day skateboarding downhill with a strong tail wind, Hahn is a cub fan ( needed to be stressed again), Sox are still tanking for draft position, Fulmer will never be a starter but should be given another shot, Clarkin was lost-found-then lost again, and last but not least JR is Fucking cheap.
That being said... I miss you White Sox baseball and please return soon!

Yep there's too much time and energy put into this to walk away from it now. May as well see it through.

I'm at the point where you make upgrades regardless of whether or not they land Machado or Harper. You just leave open 3B and RF in case they land either. If the Sox grab an OF, it would have to be someone who can play CF and also has an arm for RF. If you're going to sign Gio Gonzalez, just do it.
I think this is something that get a overlooked. Regardless of if the Sox can land a whale or not the Sox need to win games. I know Alonso and Jay aren't the sexiest additions but they will help to improve a team that won 62 games last year.
think about it. I know it's easy to say " offer the most money" but how enticing is it to a free agent to sign with a 62 win team? Putting my biased Sox fandom aside if I were a FA I would pray a team like the Sox didn't offer the most money.

I really don't think the Sox are going to come this far and then say fuck it were moving on. Besides, nobody like pulling out early...
