QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:35 AM) Because acquiring expensive veterans like CarGo, Reyes or Tulo that further hamstring the organization from a financial standpoint works as a better model? Sometimes you have to roll the dice with young talent. The bust rate is high, look at Beckham, Viciedo and now it's likely Avi is heading in that direction as well. With Puig, you have a track record of results in 2013 and 2014, and he's only 24 years old. Frankly, I'm not sure that Robin Ventura is the right guy to control him, but I do have some confidence with Abreu and Ramirez around (and even moreso if we brought in Guerrero as well). Exactly. Puig has shown the ability to come up and hit at this level. Tank always struggled, Beckham started hot but was never the same after his half rookie season. Avi is still only 24. He has potential.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:17 AM) I don't think a Q for Puig type of deal makes sense (assuming there aren't other pieces). Why not?

Ya, start with Donaldson then maybe I forgot about him. Doubt they'd wana move him considering they're going for it -

If I'm moving Q, it's for Puig. -
That's I captain! But id much rather make a blockbuster for Puig depending on the deal.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Rockies are planning to trade outfielder Carlos Gonzalez. And the timing couldn't be better, as Gonzalez went deep twice on Monday against the Cubs and now has 10 home runs this month. The 29-year-old is batting .278/.332/.520 with 20 home runs and 51 RBI overall this season. His injury history and contract could cause some teams to shy away, but he has the potential to be an impact bat for a contender. He's making $16 million this season and is owed $37 million from 2016-2017. Source: CBS SportsJul 28 - 9:44 AM

It would be luck if the the return reshape do the franchise. I'm honestly more leaning towards trying to make a big deal for Puig or CarGo then trading Shark as of this minute. That could change tonight if he goes out and pitches a clunker.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 09:15 AM) With the trade deadline Friday, I don't see why a decision has to be made on Samardzija tonight. If we lose the next two sell him off, if we win the next two only trade him if you get a great deal. It isn't. Though I wouldn't be shocked to see a bold move for a bat today or tomorrow.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 09:13 AM) Again, if we're doing the "buying and selling" thing, I don't get why we'd help a team that's only 1.5 games ahead of us in the standings. We won't. Can't. Has to be a pure sell if we're trading with TOR.

QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 09:10 AM) Jon Morosi @jonmorosi 13m13 minutes ago #BlueJays working to trade for a starting pitcher. Ian Kennedy one of the many options they're considering. Every indication is Blue Jays will make a splash for a starter...Bucket reports TOR has a standing offer for Shark. Shark is scheduled to start tonight...is today the day? If I am the Blue Jays, I force the Sox front office to decide before Shark's start tonight. Did buckets say by what type of offer? Pressure is on Toronto and us frankly. We're hot and playing well. Shark goes out and has a good game and we win 6-1, then it's even more interesting.

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:36 AM) Maybe Larry King actually got a tip from someone in the Dodger's upper management. I strongly believe that the White Sox and Dodgers will make a blockbuster deal soon. I think the moving parts will be more than just Puig and Quintana, but those will be the main pieces in this deal. Even if we can't get Seager (sigh!), I would LOVE to acquire Austin Barnes as well. I've always wanted a Dodgers Sox deal. We match up well. It was almost assuredly be a blockbuster and will be sooner than later. Just connect the dots. Larry king says don't be surprised if these two make a deal before the deadline. Dodgers a few days ago say Puig won't be moved. Now say he will. Phil Rogers goes on Rundown and brings up COL as a possible match. Then after the game starts talking about Puig and Quintana. This move will happen quickly in my opinion. I wouldn't be shocked if we got one more start out of Quintana first though.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 07:35 AM) Hahn knew what he was getting into, and had plenty of opportunities to leave. It still is mind boggling every White Sox decision that is deemed wrong is KW, and so many think Hahn will always do the right thing. The fact is this particular "inside" informer is to be taken with a huge grain of salt. He never had a signing or trade correct this winter, and had plenty of wrong information. Just remember when blaming everything on KW, when Keppinger was released with 2 years left on his contract, Hahn said that signing was on him. I do know KW overruled Hahn in the Peavy trade when Hahn wanted Middlebrooks before Avi was added. Now, Avi has his warts, but you would have to think he is worth a bit more than Middlebrooks. People are basing KW knows nothing and Hahn knows everything on fantasy not reality. KW is no idiot. I'm not giving Hahn a pass. But this isn't totally on Hahn. He has to have KW watching over things. Kenny helped engineer a World Series for the first time in 88 years. That means something to me. I have some issues with him but don't hate the guy. I love that KW will take risks and go for it because at least we're not a team that's scared to go for it. I do hope though if he does it this week, it's right and by that I mean try and get Puig without destroying things. Or even CarGo.

We're not moving Shark if we keep winning, we're adding a bat.

Love Tulo but not Rodon love. I didn't want him. Too much money and injury riddled history. I'm rooting to get CarGo because he's fairly healthy and it would upgrade RF and we could DH him.

QUOTE (spiderman @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:07 PM) Anyone catch Steve Stone over the weekend say that Saladino, he believes, will be the long-term SS? What would that mean for Anderson? I like him at third honestly. I heard that also. But to me, it all depends on how this shakes up. -
If anyone thought KW didn't have a say or be mostly in charge is in denial.
-
QUOTE (kwill @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:49 AM) Would you trade Rodon+Shark for Tulo? Not only no but hell no.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 11:10 PM) Only reason I chose it is because I kept it from another site

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 11:10 PM) I don't think T-Flow21 is taken. I'd sooner have my nose smashed Cena style.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 11:06 PM) I was here first. We get mixed up all the damn time. I think there needs to be a petition for a name change In the process as we speak
-
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 11:04 PM) Then don't have the same exact handle as that other guy! I've never proposed Anderson for CarGo. I've said Rogers mentioned it.
-
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 11:02 PM) Maybe we get stoned and acquire Castro. That's more like a bad trip.
-
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:57 PM) They might trade him to us to try and get Anderson now No Anderson. What worries me is Phil Rogers mentioned it on Rundown. Seemed a random thing to throw out there.
-
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:51 PM) I get it now! lol I didn't even think about that in my first thought This trades got our feathers all ruffled, pardon the pun.

@ckamka: A guy drafted in 1991 was just traded. Lol
