  1. of Course, Borchard also homered. and norton if somebody goes on the DL, I wouldn't be surprised to see Norton get the call as a utility guy
  2. in case anybody is looking for some good news: Brian Anderson had two more hits, including his fourth bomb, for charlotte tonight. He's hitting .338 -- almost as well as Dye. BMac struck out 11 to get the win. But he didn't really pitch well. Gave up 4 earned in 6 2/3 Sorry. You can return to corpseball.
  3. why doesn't pudge point to the sky and cross himself after he throws the ball into center field?
  4. no, we haven't. That's why all those stories are being written about the Sox not being for real.
  5. battle of the bullpens now.
  6. that's some offense. ESPN.com is going to write three more stories about how overrated the Sox are
  7. Whatever happened to small ball? five straight leadoff men get on base. and we can't get anybody to second base?
  8. willie is going to get the job done. hit the ball hard last time.
  9. 91 pitches with one out in the fifth? time to ring the bullpen phone
  10. why don't we save time and just start every hitter at 3-2?
  11. need to patient with this guy and take some walks. he's already walked two -- woulda been three if Dye would have laid off that second one
  12. willie will have to show me. can't imagine he has much range. doesn't have SS arm. doubt he's comfortable turning two.
  13. Why would anybody think Harris could play SS when he can't play second? They'd better find another utility infielder because if Crede or Iguchi goes down, we are truly hosed. You have to have somebody who can play SS. It's only the most important defensive position on the field. Hell, place a call to Craig Wilson or Jason Dellaero or Mike Caruso.
  14. it's fashionable to rip the Sox. I don't get it. But it seems to be the way it is.
  15. Borchard, after another hitless game, dropped to .155. Which followed his release from the Mexican League. He can't do it. it's either wait for Frank to return and play Everett in right. Summon Anderson for the job. or ride it out with Jermaine -- and hope he doesn't drop any more fly balls and stops overthrowing the cutoff man. RF is a problem.
  16. Uribe is that bad that he can't play SS? we better put somebody on the DL and get another infielder. Bruce Froemming should have retired five years ago. He just wants this game over so he can take a nap.
  17. The American League office has gotten the word from New York and Boston: The White Sox are winning too much and stealing too much publicity from the Yankees and Red Sox. Slow them down, umpires. Now.
  18. Widger lookin like Mike Schmidt at third base
  19. Joltin' Jermaine ain't got it. time to scan the wavier wires for an upgrade in right field. somebody who can hit at least .230 and catch routine fly balls.
  20. bring up brian anderson. seen enough of that s***.
  21. Konerko too anxious to swing at soft stuff early in the count. take an occasional strike and get something you can drive. Now, we're counting on Jermaine. After last night, he owes his 24 teammates at least a sacrifice fly.
  22. Carl Everett knows how to run the bases. Period.
