  1. What other Chicago team?
  2. most of us have ripped Garland through the years. total props to him on this season. finally looking like the pitcher we hoped he would be in 2000, 2001, 2002, ....
  3. Jermaine needs some bonus time with Greg Walker soon
  4. PK not happy to see Jurassic walked.
  5. Swisher is the son of an ex-scrub, Steve Swisher. probably is a porn name
  6. Farmer said nobody throwing in the pen garland going for complete game
  7. Don't forget Dontrelle Willis. He's another ex-scrub who ain't bad
  8. Garland's changeup is much improved maybe buehrle finally shared his secret
  9. think positive we can use Pods as a pinch hitter against Cruz, Dotel or Street.
  10. I enjoy watching A Row play. wants to win. willing to hit to right field, bunt, run into walls. I'm not worried about Rowand. But I am concerned about Dye. Maybe there will be a Brian Anderson sighting. He is kicking butt at Charlotte, a single short of a cycle yesterday.
  11. things will slow down. We all know that. But the pitching should be good enough to avoid any lengthy losing streaks. Our starting staff has to be one of the four best in the AL. Our relievers are solid -- and I'd upgrade that to better than solid if Shingo gets it figured out. Cotts concerns me, but we've got a few guys in the minors we can try if Cotts falls apart. I also worry about our obp and batting average. Dye looks very bad. A Row looks frustrated, dropping his head before he runs to first base, just like Konerko did two seasons ago. Those are the two guys who MUST produce for this team to win. I'm not as down on Rowand as Cerb. He's not going to go .300-30-100. But he could go .280-22-85. And play good defense. I'm not as certain about Dye. He looks like he's struggling against a good fastball. Not a good sign. Hopefully A.J., Crede and Carl can have excellent years.
  12. from Chicago Sports.com Infielder Greg Norton, who played for the Sox from 1996 to 2000, signed a contract with Charlotte. Who's next? Chris Snopek? Dan Pasqua? One Dog? Hawk will be thrilled to say "Naw-ton, you're the greatest!" one more time.
  13. Kruk? That the guy who quit the Sox in the middle of the season back in 94 or 95? Thought so. Ozuna a star? He's got a better chance to take Reynolds' job on TV than he has of being a star. BBTN and others are just waiting for the Sox to fall. Then they will be the lead story.
  14. Is anybody else speechless? Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
  15. Buehrle == two hour game El Duque == two week game
  16. two runs on one hit. reckon that's Ozzie Ball?
  17. ground out run scores. One hit this inning and we can break this baby open cmon Juan
  18. This hissing contest with Magglio has been going on for months and months. it's time both sides just shut up and played baseball. I like Ozzie's aggressiveness and sass. But I wonder how it will play in the clubhouse long term, especially when the bad stretches come -- as they no doubt will. EVERY player who leaves the Sox cannot be a bad guy. I simply don't believe that. One of the real tests of this season is going to come when Frank says he is ready to play again. He ain't gonna be happy getting occasional at bats. And if the team is still playing winning baseball, it's going to be hard to justify a significant change to the lineup. Can't use Frank at first. He's dreadful. So if he goes directly to full-time DH, Everett either loses at bats or goes into the outfield where it hurts our defense. THAT is when we're going to see what kind of manager Guillen really is in the clubhouse. This Magglio stuff won't matter long term. How he handles Frank's return is what counts.
  19. Texas has 21 in 17 games. Sox 20 in 16 games -- and I don't think this club has hit that well this season. Boston and New York each have 19 in 16 games. Detroit has 15 -- three by DMeathook Young on opening day
  20. this plunking stuff can get a little crazed. I suspect the Tigers will stick one in Konerko's ribs if Maggs goes down. Next thing you know Maggs will resurrect his martial arts approach and be kicking Garcia. Where is Robert Fick when you need him?
  21. when I saw that quote from Ozzie about how he could hurt Maggs had to figure it was about the juice, especially now that maggs looks 15-20 pounds lighter than his White Sox days. Be interesting to see if Maggs fires back today -- or when the Tigahs come to Chicago. Or if Reinsdorf steps in and tells Ozzie to shut it down. Detroit Free Press ignored this story and the Detroit News only had a few paragraphs.
  22. Even if the Sox are ahead at Memorial Day. Fourth of July and Labor Day, the experts ain't gonna believe it.
  23. somebody provide news about what the talk shows are saying about this today.
  24. I'm sure Maggs has heard the comments Ozzie made over the weekend about how this was a selfish team last season. Probably thinks Guillen was talking about him. be better if the Sox just quit talking about Magglio. No comment works just fine.
