I just don't think Baldwin has much to prove in AAA the way he was swinging it. Let him play every day here and figure it out. Edit: although, I think his time will come when they move an OF (Robert, Tauchman).

I don’t really blame Devers here and don’t feel sorry for the Red Sox. They told him you’re terrible defensively, keep the glove at home (it was pretty public) and then they go crawling back to him later. Edit: I also feel like if they kept him, he would transition to 1B not mid-season. Off-season and Spring Training which I bet happens with SF.

They should have started transitioning him to 1B in Spring Training (yes, I know Casas was there but they were trying to trade him and guys need a day off anyway sometimes).

His contract is a steal compared to last he way contracts are now going, even if he only DH’s (I think he moves to 1B next season).

The timing of it was weird for sure. I'm sure the package they accepted would have been there a month from now, at the Trade Deadline, etc.

Unfortunately those are the guys who should be in the lineup and you gotta play them somewhere.
