Sox sign Dayan Viciedo, 1 year $4.4mil
4mil for a slug is obscene. I just shake my head over these ridiculous contracts; it ain't my money, or is it? thanks, douglas I'm going to start a new thread about ball player's money

Jordan Danks DFA, Phillies claim him
we're not forgetting that Rios sucked couldn't hit his way out of a paper bag? How many guys has the Sox gave lots of money to and they were total slugs? Rios, Kipling, Manny, Dunn, the list goes on. I can't get it out of my mind that the big dummy is sitting in Texas on 54 million bucks. thanks, douglas

Jordan Danks DFA, Phillies claim him
for some reason when I think of Jordan Danks, I think of Jimmy Landis. About the same build. Jimmy was the better hitter but not by much. When I think of Viviedo I think of thick between the ears, no basis for fact, but I suspect his IQ is not very high. thanks, douglas

Tim Raines HOF
you snort it, you inject it, you suck on it, whatever, in my America, you never see the HOF. Same goes for the gamblers, Pete was a great player but he @#$%ed up. Some of these baseball writers are voting for the PED users, don't they get it? thanks, douglas

WhiteSox and Emilio Bonifacio agree to one year, $4 million contr
I guess it's like being a .300 hitter, not many of them around anymore. Used to be a good hitter was a .300 guy. keeps it interesting. thanks, douglas

20 homers, are you saying a 20 homer guy is a home run hitter? I say no way, a 40 homer guy is home run hitter, but not 20. thanks, douglas

Should #13 be put back in circulation?
When I think of HOF players, to me, they have to be great players. granted, there are lots of guys in the HOF who ain't exactly "great". I loved Nellie Fox and because I'm a White Sox fan and grew up on him, when I look back on it he wasn't really a great player. thanks, douglas

I don't miss the circus, but I do miss the clowns. thanks, douglas

Should #13 be put back in circulation?
I watched both careers too, and I never thought either HOF, much less number retirement. thanks, douglas

Should #13 be put back in circulation?
someone said Ventura was a "better" player than Ozzie, really? I think Ozzie was a good player, not good enough for number retirement. I think Ozzie was a good manager, not good enough for number retirement. I think the Ozzie years were the best out of the last sixty, but still not good enough for number retirement. When I think of number retirement, I think of Ruth, Gehrig, Aaron, Williams, etc., not sure I'd include any White Sox player ever in that company. thanks, douglas

come to think of it, Robin got coldcocked once too, but he asked for it. thanks, douglas

I'd take AJ in a heartbeat over RV too. Lots of memorable moments that exemplified his baseball acumen. He was a good talker too when he had a microphone in his face. How about the time what's-his-name coldcocked him? thanks, douglas

don't stop now boys
no, I'm talking about Kiplinger. I never thought much of him when he was standing in the batter's box, and he proved he stole JR.s money. thanks, douglas

Laroche
I don't know much about him (National league) and I'm hoping and praying it's not a Adam Dunn repeat. thanks, douglas

I think Ozzie is funnier, he gets drunk and goes off on Mike North on the air, you can't make this up. thanks, douglas

Another "Ozzie wants to get back into baseball" article
I been around a long time, and I can say the Ozzie years were the most entertaining since I was a little kid. Regardless of his perception with most folks here, he did keep the Sox on the front page and on the AM radio stations. Name me one Sox manager in the last 50yrs who anybody cared about listening to? I know what you are going to say, all you care about is winning, but there's more to it than that, it also has to be provacative. thanks, douglas

speaking of Hahn
the other Sox site? I did find one powered by vBullitin, but it wouldn't accept me because it didn't like yahoo mail. Maybe I won't be welcomed here, someone earlier said this forum was for professional white collar folks who know a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff and don't like being talked to like a grandpa would talk to his grandkids. Anyway, I love the White Sox and I like to reminisce about baseball characters like Bill Veeck. thanks, douglas
