  1. What is taking so long? Every angle shows he's clearly safe.
  2. Damn it Shark, second time you've got ahead of a guy and then walked him, and this is a team that doesn't walk.
  3. A first-inning run by the other team and an out on the basepaths. So far the second-half version doesn't look any different.
  4. There was an article on Fangraphs recently that mentioned the Royals might not have to make a move for a SP at the deadline. When was the last time a team won the World Series with a terrible starting rotation?
  5. Let's take another doubleheader from these f***s.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 12:45 PM) Crazy predictions? The White Sox lose 5 of their next 7 games and then make no major deadline moves. Damnit why doesn't this seem that crazy?
  7. Very intriguing, I'm not leaning one way or another on this deal (Q for Puig straight up that is). My biggest concern is Puig's potential chemistry issues.
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:14 AM) Aaron Nola will start for the Phillies on Tuesday. He's the guy we would have picked if Rodon didn't fall into our laps, right?
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 09:52 AM) I swear every game I go to Danks is pitching. I'm going tonight and the last two I went to he was on the mound. God damnit. I'd be happy with literally anyone else.
  10. Was CF just a really strong position across the league last year? How were we 22nd in baseball with a 3.0 WAR there?
  11. http://grantland.com/features/aj-preller-m...al-league-west/ Ouch... I'm not a Padres fan and that was a tough article to read. I know our moves haven't worked out either but at least we don't have some of those contracts and didn't give up anyone of great talent like San Diego has. Brutal.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 03:12 PM) Oh should we base our opinions of him on an exhibition, or his actual season? That 2/3 of an inning is a sufficient sample size to say he's a bust, clearly.
  13. If anyone is replacing Shark after he's traded, it's Johnson, not Montas.
  14. He does bring up a good point. Even if we never make it to the playoffs while Sale is a member of the White Sox, he does bring a certain sort of value to the fans by giving us the opportunity to follow his career every 5th day and watch him pitch. If he ends up breaking some team records, wins a Cy Young or two, and gets his number retired, I would consider that to be providing a lot of benefit to me as a fan, even if the games he pitched were "meaningless" in the grand scheme of things.
  15. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 09:38 AM) No. But all he has to do is lower is ERA by half a run or so in the second half of the season and I think he has it in the bag. I say he just needs to get it below 2.50. Felix had a decent ERA lead over Kluber last year (2.14 to 2.44) and Kluber still won.
  16. This thread is hilarious. I would have liked to see him pitch, but I also don't mind him getting extra rest. There is absolutely zero reason to get upset about this.
  17. QUOTE (shysocks @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 03:50 PM) Dude are you ****ing kidding me. Seriously, if it's so easy for the Royals to beat us, why didn't they win the last series at the Cell? Greg has to be trolling.
  18. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/trading-...er-loan-system/ Bill Barnwell of Grantland suggests a player loan system like soccer in Europe has. He uses Sale as his prime example of a player that could be loaned to another team instead of wasting the rest of his season. Interesting idea but I still don't think I'd trust another team with Sale even with the rules in place.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) Trust me. Nobody is concerned about an advantage in a series against a lousy sox team. Hope sale gets the win tonite This is baseball, the lousy teams still win more than 40% of the time (and this year the Sox have won 47%), bad teams win series against good teams all the time, and the Sox won the last series the two teams played. The idea that a team would look past another team when they are a division rival and have a pitcher like Sale is one of the most ridiculous things I've read. The Royals haven't clinched anything yet.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 02:08 PM) I'd trade Melky and LaRoche for Bruce, nobody else except guys like Beckham and Boni and Conor and nobody wants those stiffs. The Reds want to trade Bruce to shed salary and you're going to to offer them two underperforming guys that would significantly increase their payroll?
  21. The title is wrong, Rodon has a 4.18 ERA and a 3.67 FIP
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 9, 2015 -> 05:12 PM) Saturday is the battle between the pitcher that can't hold anyone on and the team that can't steal successfully. With that said, I don't like Lester's chances of getting a hit off of Sale. I wouldn't be shocked at this point to see Lester pick off one of our guys.
  23. With no Danks pitching and Sale going I like our chances to take the series. I also wouldn't be surprised if we scored 4 runs total in the 3 games.
