  1. Really dissapointed I was too young to miss his prime years in the Sox uniform. Same thing with Michael Jordan. I wish I got to experience all of that Chicago sports history. Just missed out on it.
  2. Some comments from Astros fans via Astros' message boards regarding Crane firing Hinch and Luhnow: Seems like the Astros could have rebounded from the penalties against them. Crane made sure that wasn't going to happen. Just unreal. Who is the new GM now that all the assistants have been poached? And now for manager. Holy hell. Just speechless. One of the worst 24 hour stretches in Houston sports history The Monday Massacre. Wtf. That would be like the saints firing Payton after he was suspended. Stupid ass move. Whelp boys, it was fun while it lasted
  3. Will be interesting to see what happens with Boston once that investigation is over with
  4. Luhnow and Hinch have been fired per Jim Crane, Astros owner
  5. Link to stream of Astros' owner addressing the media on this whole thing: https://www.mlb.com/news/astros-address-sign-stealing-report As of 2:00 central, the live stream hasn't begun yet.
  6. My primary qualms with Ricky last year was the lineup construction. I really didn't have a problem with the bunting, MOST of the time. Sometimes it was like, really wtf are you doing, but mostly it didn't bother me. For all the things to dislike about a manager, it could be a lot worse. Let's not cast stones and wait to see how he handles a talented contending team.
  7. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/cubs/toddler-struck-albert-almora-jrs-foul-ball-has-permanent-brain-injury Damn...Feel so bad for the girl, her family, and Almora. Also one more thing added to the Astros shit-list this offseason. “She (the child) has an injury to a part of the brain, and it is permanent,” attorney Richard Mithoff told the Houston Chronicle. “She remains subject to seizures and is on medication and will be, perhaps, for the rest of her life. That may or may not be resolved.” Mithoff added doctors described the injury as affecting the girl’s central nervous system like how a stroke would. Injuries to the affected areas of the brain can lead to seizures, loss of sensation and spatial awareness, per Mithoff. Other potential effects include periods of unresponsiveness, frequent headaches and night terrors.
  8. I actually really like DJ. Farmer was good in his prime. He just needs to retire.
  9. Can't wait to hear what they come up with when the Sox are consistently winning!
  10. Damn...that's a ton of cash for 2 players...esp for one that is now barely a middle of the rotation guy.
  11. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/cubs/why-cubs-and-theo-epstein-havent-done-anything-offseason "The 2020 Cubs have lost significant talent from their 84-win 2019 team and have done almost nothing to replace ANY of those players. They still have no payroll flexibility to add even mediocre free agents to augment their roster." “The Cubs are in a trick box. They did a terrible job locking up their young stars to deals that would have extended their window of contention," one executive said. "Yes, they got Rizzo and Starlin Castro but until Kyle Hendricks took a deal they had signed no one else long term from their core guys. Look across your city and see what Rick Hahn has been able to accomplish. He has a great young core and he has been able to sign some of his guys to outstanding deals. The rest of the article is pretty overwhelmingly negative toward the Cubs. Feels good to be on the positive side of things for once...and hopefully it stays this way for a LONG while. The Sox need to work hard not to put themselves in the position the Cubs are in, and it seems like they have already forecasted this exact thing happening, with locking up their young core to good deals.
  12. Ah, yes, thank you both for refreshing my memory. What a shame his career ended up being. Such potential to be an elite arm and injuries just derailed him.
  13. Not that I want him in the pen or anything, but is Nate Jones planning on attempting yet another comeback? Is he still under contract with the Sox or is that over with?
  14. YES!!! This is going to be such an amazing season. SO EXCITED!!!!
  15. This is like that new facebook crap where its never ending scrolling on a colored post lol
  16. No no no no. Take his ass elsewhere. Don't need that shit in the clubhouse. I don't care how good he is. The offense is set anyway.
  17. Boys (and ladies if there are any here), prepare yourselves. 2020 is going to be the funnest season we will have as Sox fans in a long, long time.
  18. If this happens...spring training is going to be very, very interesting
  19. Pretend the Sox sign EE. Come mid-may, the field probably looks like this vs righties: 1B:Abreu 2B:Madrigal 3B:Moncada SS:TA LF: Eloy CF:Robert RF:Mazara Catcher: Grandal DH: EE Bench: C Mccann (probably in mostly vs lefties and for Gio) C/1B/DH Collins OF/IF Leury (starts in RF vs LHP) OF Engel IF Mendick (still hope Yolmer comes back as our utility IF though...) I mean that group really has potential to be very good offensively. I am a little concered about the corner outfield defense and hopefully Anderson has focused on upgrading his defense this offseason. My question is, who are you putting out there in Center and at 2B to start the season?
  20. Welcome. I have been to Milwaukee, both Chicago, and Detroit. We stopped by Petco Park in San Diego but we didn't see a game... was the offseason, so i don't count that one. My wife and I are going on a trip out East this Summer and will see Cleveland (vs Sox), Pittsburgh, Mets, Boston (vs Yankees), and Yankee stadium ( vs White Sox). Cannot wait for that trip.
  21. This rebuild better effing work lol.
