The AL isnt a relevant entity anymore. There might not even be AL/NL in a few years. The Dodgers and Giants left NYC, the A’s are leaving the Bay Area which is just as wealthy as Chicagoland and nearly the same population size. I don’t think its likely the Sox leave but its not that crazy. They nearly did in the 90’s save for a sweetheart political deal that would be untenable in 2023.
