Big 10 Tournament
QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:31 PM) Man, you got to have the feeling that if Hughes didn't foul out he was going to drain that tying 3. Fun ending. It was ridiculous. I was feeling good until he tossed in that bulls*** bank shot.

Big 10 Tournament
Really good win, dominated the game until Hughes decided to toss up and make a bunch of bulls*** shots in a row.

Big 10 Tournament
Hughes has tossed in lucky ass shot after lucky ass shot.

Big 10 Tournament
If we lose I hope Bill Cole never shows his face in Champaign again.

Also, the games not over yet. Nothing ever comes easy for this Illinois team.

Big 10 Tournament
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:12 PM) Illinois just played themselves into the tourney, nice work. St Joe's part 3 coming up. Chi-town Not a lock but a lot would have to go wrong now in the conference tourneys or we could always get screwed by the selection committee.

Big 10 Tournament
Can we not have unbelievably stupid turnovers please.

Big 10 Tournament
BTW except for that one awful 2 minute stretch in the first half the refs have been very balanced today, basically just letting both teams play. Although considering there have been nothing but jump shots it probably makes their jobs easier.

Big 10 Tournament
Wisconsin still shooting horribly, but Illinois is doing a great job contesting everything. Probably the best D they have played all year thus far (knock on wood) I still think Wisconsin makes a run at some point.

Big 10 Tournament
QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) Right, but both of those stats are more sustainable than those shooting percentages. You have to agree that Illinois is not going to shoot 65% for a whole game and Wisconsin certainly isn't going to shoot 19% for a whole game. Agreed but Illinois is generally good at taking care of the ball and had a few completely unforced turnovers. Also, Illinois got way better looks at the basket than Wisky. The shooting percentages will even out but if both teams get the same looks at the basket in the 2nd half Illinois wins.

Big 10 Tournament
QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) Illinois is shooting 65%. Wisconsin is shooting 19%. Illinois is only up 9?! If that doesn't mean Wisconsin is going to win this game, I don't know what does. 9 turnovers to 1, and then Wisconsin got a bunch of 2nd chance points.

Big 10 Tournament
Illinois has been on the short end of the officiating today. DMac definitely carried but that type of move happens all the time and is never called. I hate when they call it randomly like that.

The Tisdale travel call and that last "foul" were both horrendous calls.

Big 10 Tournament
QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) Brandon played this year the exact same way he did when he was on varsity at Warren as a soph. Trying to do too much, needed to get stronger/better, and he did. Paul will come around. Meyers Leonard's Robinson team on TV tonight. In final four at state vs. Hales at 8pm. Gonna DVR it I think Leonard has the highest ceiling of any player in the state. He has a lot to work on but 7 footers with his athleticism are incredibly rare and he is also fairly skilled.

Big 10 Tournament
QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) I hope, on a daily basis, that Richmond will provide more his freshman year than DJ/BP have this year. DJ was damn good this year. He struggled the last few games but he had a really good freshmen year. Was good on offense and became a really good defensive player by the end of the year.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) I hate you Evan Turner. Seriously, that was cold blooded and awful defensive call by Belein to not guard inbounds. Stay classy, Matta. That was an amazing shot but a really dumb decision not to have someone on him in the backcourt to put pressure on him, would have made it a more difficult play. That had to remind you of Richmond's shot against Warren last year btw.

Big 10 Tournament
Absurd ending in the OSU-Michigan game. Turner makes a 30 footer at the buzzer to win it.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 11:02 PM) Arizona State in a lot of trouble right now, could be another bubble team going down in their first game, crazyness. And even though UTEP pretty much has 0 quality wins this season, the individual size and talent on that team is quite impressive. The Pac 10 doesn't deserve a single at large bid. The entire conference basically has no good wins (exaggerating I know, but there are almost no good out of conference wins).

Big East Tournament
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 04:00 PM) By the way, I still think Greg Monroe is the best player in the nation. Hard to match his scoring, rebounding, assists, blocks, steals, and rugged good looks. Evan Turner and quite frankly I don't think it is close.

Unreal pictures of Meyers Leonard's dunk from tonight. Not many 7 footers that can do that.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) Id vote for Bo Ryan for Big 10 coach of the year. Wisconsin preseason was picked as finishing 9th or worse. There is no way anybody had them 9th or worse. Iowa, PSU, and IU were the consensus last 3 and I doubt people had Wisconsin finishing behind NW. But I agree with Ryan as Big 10 coach of the year.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) I don't think either were overrated. He was a complete game changer in college and there's no way they get to the title game with out him. He also was a legit NBA prospect, if it hasn't been for injuries I think he'd be quite a NBA player at the moment. His block shots and rebounding rates were phenomenal this year before he got injured again. He was becoming the type of defensive force that would change games and with Portland's other talent could lead them to a championship. And for those who are fans of Hollinger's PER he was 8th in the league. Guy is a game changer and absolute stud when healthy. It is unfortunate we are likely never going to see him at his potential because of injuries.
