2026 NFL off season thread
whitesoxfan99 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Yep, there is mountains of evidence that sports stadiums just do not bring in jobs and the jobs they do bring in are often seasonal low paying jobs. And in the case of Arlington Heights, I wouldn't be surprised if they do build an entertainment district if it actually shifts some revenue away from downtown Arlington Heights (in addition to other towns as well). -
2025-26 NCAA Basketball

They aren't a great defensive team even at 100% but they were down 2 starters (and their best 2 defenders) last night. -
Eh, everyone in that sport says this isn't totally uncommon and she was one of the best performing athletes in each training run. And the 5th ranked USA downhill skier doesn't even have a remote chance at placing in the medals (probably wouldn't even finish top 20).

All groups will be. Expanded world cup has made the group stage pretty stupid. 8 of the 12 third place teams from each group make it to the knockout round as well.

He wasn’t until after Caleb released the ball.

These committees are hot garbage at picking hall of famers.

Official NBA 25-26 Thread

Yep, absolutely zero chance a super star wants to come to this trash organization. I’m a former season ticket holder that hasn’t been to a game in 7 years and won’t go again anytime soon. -
White Sox acquire LHP Chris Murphy from BOS
whitesoxfan99 replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Unlike the Booser trade where they stupidly gave up a live arm for a bum, I don’t care about this one since I don’t think Hernandez does anything. But Murphy’s ERA this past season was purely reliever small sample size luck. K rate wasn’t good for a reliever and he had a high walk rate. -
Zaccheus have money on the Giants?
-
Williams played an awesome first half. Everyone else sucked

Yep, there are a lot of players better than Kent that are not in the Hall of Fame. Bobby Grinch and Willie Randolph at 2b are both much better. And while I know there are no direct links to steroids for Kent, all of his big seasons coming from age 30 on in the middle of the steroids era is suspicious (although I think he basically got easy pitches to hit because everyone was so scared of Bonds).
-
I think he was out. Smith’s foot came down again before he touched the bag. If he runs through rather than sliding I think he’s safe
-
Way better pitch than he called Smith out on last inning. Robo umps can’t get here soon enough
-
Absolutely pathetic pitching by Glasnow there. Gimenez wants to gift you an out, let him
-
Scherzer with a crazy lucky start. Nothing but hard hit contact that entire outing and some amazing defensive plays behind him.
-
He 100% did on the pitch before he was actually hit.
-
That should be an automatic strike if a batter gets hit on purpose (had he been hit).
-
I think he’s looked like crap. Dodgers have 7 balls with exit velocities above 100 mph already
-
Ohtani has actually been terrible this series except for game 3.
-
Inexcusable missed strike 3 on Guerrero on a pitch clearly in the zone. Ends up huge if Blue Jays end up scoring here now
-
Brutal call on the first pitch of that at bat put Yelich behind from the start. That pitch wasn’t even close
-
Peralta looks awful tonight. No command at all
-
He totally panicked after bobbling the ball
-
Letting Volpe hit there is a fireable offense
-
Basically every Yankee hitter except for Judge has been absolutely atrocious this postseason.
