  1. Santos needs to get cut. Having a kicker like that is a huge liability in the modern NFL where everyone else had guys who can kick it out of end zone whenever they want and make 60 yard field goals
  2. Going on the injured list for a hamstring. He’s been mostly bad since August 2023 other than the one hot stretch this year and can never stay healthy. I maintain a team would be nuts to give up real value for him.
  3. It legit feels like the Braves are trying to lose
  4. I mean the Braves have pitched basically nothing but bums for 2 days so that isn’t shocking (and yes, until he proves he isn’t again Strider is currently a bum).
  5. They haven't collapsed, the Brewers have been unbeatable for an extended stretch.
  6. They 100% would but other than saving $1m the Sox get nothing out of that and it isn't like they have a starting pitching prospect they need to make room for right now.
  7. The post i was responding to literally said to try to have him clear waivers to deal him to the Cubs.
  8. Waiver trades are no longer a thing after the trade deadline
  9. That is absolutely insane for a relief pitcher (even if really good and with control) and a flat out bad starting pitcher.
  10. Walker is such a good example of why I’m glad we are way past the days of evaluating a pitcher by ERA. That dude has been absolute trash for a few years now. Total fluke is ERA isn’t bad this year.
  11. I think some of this is also that I’m guessing Judge isn’t playing a lot of outfield the rest of this year with the elbow so they want depth and don’t want to call up Jones yet.
  12. Mike Mussina was way better and a clear hall of famer. Sabathia vs. Buehrle is close but Sabathia has the Cy Young which goes a long way. Mussina accumulated over 80 WAR to Buehrle 60 (for bWAR and the gap is even bigger for fWAR). They don't belong in the same conversation.
  13. Dawson was a much better all around player. Baines was terrible defensively and added zero on the base paths. Dawson early in his career was legitimately great defensively (and won some gold gloves) and then also added value as a base runner. They aren’t really even remotely comparable as players.
  14. I’ve become a bigger hall person over time (although staunchly against some of the ridiculous committee selections recently like Dave Parker and Harold Baines) so I’d ultimately be ok with Buehrle getting in. Sabathia got in because his peak was better and he won the Cy Young. Getting an accolade like that is massive for hall of fame consideration. The getting in because he’s a Yankee stuff is pretty lazy considering I’d argue Graig Nettles should definitely be in the hall and still hasn’t made it, Munson definitely should be (number 15 all time in catcher WAR, won an MVP and even past his peak would have clearly past a few in front of him since he was still a 3 win player when he died in the plane crash).
  15. Bowden is a clown and no one should pay any attention to anything he says.
  16. Pirates are an absolute garbage organization. Skenes can’t get out of there soon enough.
  17. I mean to be fair, other than Vargas nothing was hit remotely hard. But no way he should have faced slater who is an automatic out against any RHP with a pulse
  18. Insane BABIP luck continues. One decently hit ball in 2 innings and 7 hits
  19. Insane luck for Sox hitters the last couple innings.
  20. Williams throws an incredible amount of totally not competitive pitches. He’s been living a charmed life this year as he’s actually pitched really poorly
  21. Total fluke. Striking out 4.5 per 9 out of the bullpen and he will eventually start getting hit. There are unlimited examples of pitchers out producing their talent in small sample sizes out of the pen
  22. He’s been hit hard the entire game. Playing with fire.
  23. You basically have to go back to August 2023 as the last time he was a legitimately good player.
  24. Jim Bowden is outrageously bad at his job. No one is giving up real value for Robert. Certainly not a top 5 system prospect that was a first round pick last year that has pitched pretty well so far this year plus two more prospects.
  25. So what is the thinking behind pinch hitting for the guy who has been your best hitter who is not striking out at all this year with Mitch Garver?
