  1. First sweeper he’s thrown to a lefty that wasn’t buried in on their back foot. Probably looked like that first ball of the at bat that was wide.
  2. Now through 5 on 65 pitches. Wonder how long they’ll let him go. Gave up two softer singles to start the 5th. 1 would come around to score on some interesting fielding decisions.
  3. Thorpe currently through 4ip on 53 pitches. Gave up an oppo wall scraper for the only run allowed.
  4. The line will look worse than the outing. He should’ve been out of that inning on like 12 pitches but a 2 out pop up turned into a home run. I think his back is fine. He ripped 100 there to end it.
  5. Took me minutes to write my response about him and then he goes and gives us that gem.
  6. I think it’s him trying to turn up his own intensity because of where they are in the season. He’s corny but he’s always been corny. Now it’s like he’s trying to become more focused yet it’s still corny and still incredibly surface level analysis. It just really amplifies his lack of knowledge about the game. He’s been a cheerleader for 2 1/2 years, just like Hawk was, which is fine, but at least Hawk knew what hell was talking about.
  7. I don’t normally pick on Big Daddy Schriff because he’s part of the broadcast regardless, and I have to listen to listen to people talk all day for my job which teaches you selective listening really well, but he has become unbearable even to me lately.
  8. I have no idea what the right move for Grant is. He was successful as a starter in the minors but he has been incredibly valuable in his role now. That likely goes back to Vasil at some point and then Grant is probably strictly the closer. And I’m not going to trade Braden because the outfield depth in the system is weak and Seiya is older. It’d probably be at least another year before I’m doing anything without seeing how Roch and Bonemer figure in to the equation. Too many unknowns right now.
  9. The pitching is behind but it’s not like they don’t have some interesting options moving forward. Also, do they let Taylor get a go at starting? I have faith they’ll find something among Burke, Thorpe, Schultz, McDougal, Smith, Taylor, Sandlin, S Smith, Oppor if they can’t get him straighten out. If not use the glut of middle infielders to trade for some.
  10. They are going to improve the team by over 40 wins in 2 years. They are ahead of where everyone thought they would be. Forest through the trees.
