MLB not very happy losing Mets/Dodgers in the first round.

Guess it will be hard for some to choose between the Padres and Cubs lol.

With Horton out...Cubs' rotation is short with Boyd Imanaga and Taillion.

Padres have Pivetta...then no idea where they go between Cease Darvish rehabbing King and Randy Vasquez.

Now in his sixth MLB season, Gavin Lux has still not realized the top-prospect potential he came up with in Los Angeles a half-decade ago. While he hit a team-best .269 during his first season in Cincinnati, he had just five home runs, a .725 OPS, and a negative mark in wins-above-replacement according to Baseball Reference.

Cincinnati Reds' Gavin Lux, left, hugs Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy.

Lux, whom the Dodgers traded away after signing Hyeseong Kim in January, has served in a utility role this year, getting starts at second base, left field and as the designated hitter. He didn’t have a great postseason with the Dodgers last year, when he hit just .176 during the team’s title run. But now, he has a chance to help upset the team that dealt him coming into the season.

Skubal looks like a man on a mission after his last start against the Guards that self-destructed in the fifth inning.

Cleveland just scored a run on a swinging bunt, a walk, and an infield chopper over Skubal's head. What an absolutely infuriating team to play against.

Game tied 1-1 on typical Guardians nonsense.

Infield single, walk, strikeout, strikeout, high chopper behind the mound that the runner beats out from second.

Great base running by Angel.

Detroit has a decent chance to break through here in the top of the 7th.

Skubal back on cruise control.

Tigers turning the tables on CLE with some small ball.

Skubal with 1-2 innings left with the extra rest/off time from last start.

10 k's through 6, including 7 in a row.

Still at 100 near pitch 90.

Skubal is so freaking good.

Guardians getting Skubal'd

Skenes vs. Skubal a closer argument because of Skubal being a LHP and much more experienced...and Skenes really hasn't had to overcome major injury issues yet.

Probably going to have to go to Vest or Finnegan at some point soon.

Halpin can really scoot.

Finishes with 14 k's.

Can't imagine his FA contract if he can stay healthy...$425-450 million?  $475?

$500 million seems insane for a pitcher around 29-30.

Boyd getting hit hard in the second. 1-0 San Diego

Why the hell is Sheets starting against a LHP

Merrill playing as well as anyone in September.

Bogaerts back for just a week or so.

2-0 would have been the expected outcome...big run left on base there.

Laureano out with a fractured finger for at least this series.

B.Johnson is a defensive replacement usually.

Probably cost them a run...Cubs LH heavy now without Horton in the rotation.

Yeah it’s just crazy they have no alternative.  He just got a terrible jump on a fly ball as well.

Wow, just a brutal defensive play by the Tigers might blow this game.  Honestly didn't think the throw by Baez was that bad given the circumstances.  Torkelson has to do way better than that.

Two base error by the Tigers to put JRam on 3rd with no one out.

Guardians doing CLE things.

Ramirez still running well in early 30s.

Have to come off the base and block it but not the first instinct.

It's pretty amazing that with all the talent they get they end up short so often.  I understand why the Brewers are always bounced from the playoffs but the Padres seem to be a player or two short.

Big play to catch JRam breaking for home. One more out.
