  1. Having no one on the bench better than freaking José Iglesias to face a lefty even with the Laureano injury is absurd.
  2. Padres offense has scored 4 total runs in their last 48 postseason innings
  3. And then he for some insane reason brought Rodon out to start the 7th. Boone is really bad at this.
  4. Aaron Boone sucks out loud. Not pinch running for Goldschmidt was remarkably dumb. Better and faster base runner might score on that Bellinger hit and if Judge reads it right he could have even been at third and changed the inning
  5. Wow, just a brutal defensive play by the Tigers might blow this game. Honestly didn't think the throw by Baez was that bad given the circumstances. Torkelson has to do way better than that.
  6. If Trapilo is worse than Benedet that was a totally wasted pick. I don’t care if he’s a rookie
  7. I mean kind of. When your team is absolute hot garbage and losing these games anyways I’d rather see a great player have a chance to be great.
  8. It’s honestly pathetic that a 100 loss team has intentionally walked Judge so many times in a 3 game series.
  9. Before 2018 the White Sox had 3 100 losses season in their history. They are now going to be at 4 in their last 8 seasons. Insane
  10. The amazing part is that in the last 70 years the Royals, Rockies and soon to be White sox are the only teams without the excuse of being expansion teams to do this. I’d be shocked if Rockies don’t get to 4 next year too. That franchise is beyond screwed
  11. Like so often is the case, I think Chat GPT is wrong. https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/nfl-rulebook/#article-1-dead-ball-declared Among the ways a play is dead is: when an opponent takes a ball that is in the possession of a runner who is on the ground; That reads as if you cannot force a fumble when a player is on the ground.
  12. Santos needs to get cut. Having a kicker like that is a huge liability in the modern NFL where everyone else had guys who can kick it out of end zone whenever they want and make 60 yard field goals
  13. Going on the injured list for a hamstring. He’s been mostly bad since August 2023 other than the one hot stretch this year and can never stay healthy. I maintain a team would be nuts to give up real value for him.
  14. It legit feels like the Braves are trying to lose
  15. I mean the Braves have pitched basically nothing but bums for 2 days so that isn’t shocking (and yes, until he proves he isn’t again Strider is currently a bum).
  16. They haven't collapsed, the Brewers have been unbeatable for an extended stretch.
  17. They 100% would but other than saving $1m the Sox get nothing out of that and it isn't like they have a starting pitching prospect they need to make room for right now.
  18. The post i was responding to literally said to try to have him clear waivers to deal him to the Cubs.
  19. Waiver trades are no longer a thing after the trade deadline
  20. That is absolutely insane for a relief pitcher (even if really good and with control) and a flat out bad starting pitcher.
  21. Walker is such a good example of why I’m glad we are way past the days of evaluating a pitcher by ERA. That dude has been absolute trash for a few years now. Total fluke is ERA isn’t bad this year.
  22. I think some of this is also that I’m guessing Judge isn’t playing a lot of outfield the rest of this year with the elbow so they want depth and don’t want to call up Jones yet.
  23. Mike Mussina was way better and a clear hall of famer. Sabathia vs. Buehrle is close but Sabathia has the Cy Young which goes a long way. Mussina accumulated over 80 WAR to Buehrle 60 (for bWAR and the gap is even bigger for fWAR). They don't belong in the same conversation.
  24. Dawson was a much better all around player. Baines was terrible defensively and added zero on the base paths. Dawson early in his career was legitimately great defensively (and won some gold gloves) and then also added value as a base runner. They aren’t really even remotely comparable as players.
  25. I’ve become a bigger hall person over time (although staunchly against some of the ridiculous committee selections recently like Dave Parker and Harold Baines) so I’d ultimately be ok with Buehrle getting in. Sabathia got in because his peak was better and he won the Cy Young. Getting an accolade like that is massive for hall of fame consideration. The getting in because he’s a Yankee stuff is pretty lazy considering I’d argue Graig Nettles should definitely be in the hall and still hasn’t made it, Munson definitely should be (number 15 all time in catcher WAR, won an MVP and even past his peak would have clearly past a few in front of him since he was still a 3 win player when he died in the plane crash).
