  • In all honesty - as much as it stinks - most of the young players did well at the plate and the pitchers like Smith did good - other ones who aren’t part of the long haul drove the loss.

  • I truly think that kid could end up being a star but they need to stick him in one spot on the field and leave him there so he can get better at that position.  Moving him all over does him no favors

Chase with a great play, Smith really gutted it out tonight.

Tauchman is an ironman at his age.

Baldwin now has 20 homers for the year. 12 in Charlotte, 8 for the Sox.

You could say that for a bunch of guys on the team.

Baldwin has played everything except 1st and Catcher.

I read somewhere that Baldwin is the only player in MLB with 5+ starts at 6 positions. I think he's gonna have to keep moving around though until one of Robert, Beni, or Tauchman are gone.

Edit: Found it.

He's said before it is a dream of his to play all 9 positions in 1 MLB game. (I think he said he did it in HS or college) I don't see a world where they would ever allow that though.

He looks incredibly impressive from a body standpoint. Dude is THICC. If he really has 25HR pop in that bat we gotta find him a position. Just park him in LF next year.

In a year where you are likely to lose another 100, just have fun in a late September game

If they are going to use kids like this, start playing them like this in the minors to get used to it

Baldwin played a lot of positions in the minors (primarily ss, 3b, some 2b, a little 1b and only occasionally the of). In college, he played rf and 2b mostly. In high school he pitched and was the team’s catcher. He was the only one who could catch his teammate MacKenzie Gore. That said, playing those positions in mlb is another matter entirely. Especially OF in a three deck stadium.

Not a great effort by Albies.

You can cancel the post game show.

Did you hear about the Vargas swing change?

Gordon needs 3 coffees to get through these 3 1/2 hour games.

And Schiffren lives in Vegas.  Figures.

Teel hit the crap out of that ball.

Oops.

Only 93 mph ev.

Thought Teel hit that one harder.

Elder and his near 6 era survive the first.

Shane Smith now 7 over his career high in innings pitcher with six weeks to go...

Great job, Luis.

Sigh.

Have to prepare for the conditions.

How about don’t pitch to him

Can’t believe this was our ASG rep

High changeups tend to go a long way in the air.

Baldwin the quietest RoY since Kyle Lewis over Robert in 2020.

Quero just doesn’t get any pitches close called for his pitcher

If Luis cuts off that hit, next guy up hits into double play, end of inning, but he didn't cut it off, double, not single, home run.

Congrats!   I think.

Batting practice so far for ATL...
