QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 10:09 PM) Dark horse: Kyle Whittingham Maybe he would leave for an elite program but I tend to think the guy is Utah lifer considering he has been a coach there since 1994.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 03:17 PM) Charles getting hurt turned the tide of the game. Chiefs didn't get much going after that. Hard to do anything on offense when you never even try to throw the ball more than 5 yards down the field.

Andy Reid is not a good football coach and Fox and his staff are. The Chiefs are never going to be good enough while they have a coach and QB as conservative as Reid and Smith are.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 06:13 PM) 300 yards on the ground against is not good to me. 400 plus yards against under Banks is a staple every week. Nebraska is snakebit Coming into today they were top 25 in yards against and scoring defense and they kept Illinois in the game in the first half when the offense couldn't stay on the field.

Lol, poor Nebraska.

Lol, and Wisconsin will likely end up getting another FG attempt after Nebraska got ridiculously conservative on their offensive possession.

And yet again I'm smarter than a college football coach.

It may work out for them but I absolutely despise Wisconsin calling plays to settle for a FG which even if they make it gives Nebraska enough time to go down the field and get a winning score anyways.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 03:52 PM) Tim Banks doing nothing when Iowa ran 10 times in a row was comical. Banks needs launched. Eh, the defense has been good this year. That was mostly a matter of the dline getting tired and the linebackers not being good enough or athletic enough. I have had no issue with the coaching overall this year although Cubit drives me nuts with his play calling and decision making at times.

99.9% sure Nick Chubb just blew out his knee. He couldn't go pro under the NFL's rules but every single player that is good enough to be a first or second round pick should never come back for their SR year.

How was that not a personal foul on Iowa there?

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 02:22 PM) Running the ball with an injured freshman running back when you need to go 80 yards. Whatever. Just dumb. Especially when Iowa's corners can't cover anyone without holding right now.

G-MO!!!! Back in this one. Iowa's secondary struggling big time to cover Illinois in the second half.

While this team is much better coached without Beckman it is those types of calls that are the reason I just can't get on board with Cubit past this season. I love being aggressive but having your WR throw it on 3rd and 1 when you are moving the ball with ease on a drive is just so dumb.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 01:35 PM) Dammit. Our linebackers are terrible. No athleticism and they also get out of position. That play was 90% on Monheim, he is really bad.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) I'm not. They've been uninspired since the VT game. I actually mean this season as a whole. This is the third time already they've been challenged by a bad football team. I keep expecting their talent to take over but it just isn't happening for whatever reason. I still expect the light to go on at some point (probably against Illinois lol) but they are playing with fire right now.

Ohio State struggling with Maryland now. I'm shocked by how poorly they are playing.

Illinois really needs points on the first drive of the second half. The defense has played well overall but they are going to run out of gas if the offense doesn't start moving the ball.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 11:57 AM) Illinois playing like a Big Ten team. It's been a while. The defensive line is really good. Unfortunately our safeties our terrible in coverage and our linebackers aren't Big 10 caliber players.

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 6, 2015 -> 07:38 PM) If ND does get rid of Kelly because he isn't good enough, they should only do it if they have the next coach in mind and a good shot at them. Nubs firing Pellini was fine, but not having anyone better and getting Mike Riley is what makes change for the sake of change usually end up blowing up in your face. Yep, if your coach sucks and you fire him and the next guy isn't better that is one thing (i.e. Illinois football for the last 20 years) but when you fire a guy who is a solid but not spectacular coach you better know what you are doing for his replacement.

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 08:34 PM) We need automated strike zones. It makes no sense in this generation balls and strikes are called by a guy who can't see the strike zone. Agreed. And Hurdle really should have gotten himself ejected after that last inning. Those calls were absurd.

Lol, that strike 3 pitch to Mercer wasn't anywhere close to being a strike.
